bscheff[501st]
I also see that as a problem. The AM is really wide but not deep. The "tongue" of my boot doesn't want to go under but there is space by my ankles. Is that your issue? Link to comment
izzi[TX]
You either have to get higher jodhpur boots (wich are hard to find in anything above an 11. Or rig something. Same with the FX and other kits. The Bass amsterdams just don't want to stay under there without a little help. Â -iz Link to comment

I even tried my tkboots with them to make sure it wasnt my black books. My next step is heat and bend into more of an oval Link to comment
defiance7x13[TX]
Bah! I just caught my mistake with the ammo belt. Working on the problem now.....  Ive been building! I swear Just not on the suit I really want too  I busted out the old heat gun today and made some improvements to my shoulders and biceps. Both now fit my arm, and I am able to flex without fearing seams are going to bust. Tomorrow I will tackle the abs, kidney and butt plates.  Anyways here we go  The reason for the lack of updates, Ive been taking in my TK.  Battle Wound  Now on with the good stuff.....    Completed and awaiting snap plates  Finished with the hand plates  My Box is shrinking.......  And my Finished pile is growing..... Excellent  And Finally started installing finished plates  What can I say other than Opps?  Link to comment
Darth Agnon[501st]
What are you using to keep your hand plates on with? Link to comment
defiance7x13[TX]
What are you using to keep your hand plates on with?   Recycled AM wrist elastic w/velcro for the wrist, Womens hair ties for the middle finger and hot glue for the hold. Tomorrow I will dig out the hand plates from the box and take a picture from inside so you can see. I am a firm believer in recycling as much as the AM kit as possible. So what if my snaps have velcro behind them  and of course, Thanks Iz Link to comment

Cause hand sweat will loosen the glue from the glove and then they fall off. Link to comment
defiance7x13[TX]
Almost Done  Snap Plates and hand guards  Completed Chest and Back Pieces  I even have black ties around the shoulder straps like our friends in white  Final Touches to the Butt and Kidney Plates  Im using the same suspenders that I made for my TK at the moment. They work, so why mess with a good thing?  A couple of snap plates for the shoulder bells.  Pile O' Armor  And if all goes according to plan, I will have the first pair of all black "TK Boots", and for less the $50 bones Now all I need is my holster to get here and I should be 501st passable. And it would be nice to get to participate in some of the upcoming local Christmas events and give back some of the love. Link to comment

defiance7x13[TX]
I got my boots back today. I now have to my knowledge, the first black "TK Boot" prototype. Check it out...... Â Â I am extremely happy with the results of the experiment! This crappy camera just doesn't do them justice. And looking at the boots next to my suit, I can wait put the final touch on this rig and get suited up. Link to comment

defiance7x13[TX]
My Thermal Det is almost finished. After I got them glued together, Ive spent the last 3 days laying down coats of primer and then lightly sanding, rinse, repeat.  Here is what those pieces look like now  And someone needed some advice on putting together their biceps, so I snapped some pictures of my finished pieces after sanding the return edge and taking a heat gun to them   Of course, thank you all for the positive feed back and Matt, Im on your heels, I'm just a couple screws and inner drop boxes from submitting my specialist request ....  But most of all Im glad to see you made it possible! I was rooting for you my friend....  Of course it doesn't hurt that I'm working with the same Armor and lid you passed with . Link to comment
defiance7x13[TX]
The lighting sucked as it was starting to rain, but look what ive got here  As for the details, Lids an Efx #034, AM black kit, Dyed TK boots, Blaster and holster were provided by Vern, on the FISD boards and finally the belt is by Rob, TKkittle.    I know, I haven't fixed my shins to my boots and you can see the boot popping out, and the chest is caught in the torso seam. Also I need to start wearing my black balaclava to hide my neck under the efx. Once the weather clears and Ive got the time, I will take a final set for 501 submission. Till then, anything you guys catch that I should address? Link to comment
