RAIDER[COTG]
ARGH!!! I misinterpreted the CRL then "properly shaped earholes" as they had to be properly shaped/trimmed. So now I have holes. Ugh...did I just screw up the specialist requirement? Or can fabric there still work as long as it's not mesh per the crl? Link to comment

That would help determine what you did and how to proceed. Link to comment
RAIDER[COTG]
I actually cut out the earhole. Sigh... Link to comment
Griffin-X[501st]
I actually cut out the earhole. Sigh... Which is what you needed to do! For Specialist, that's a requirement and you do not need mesh or any material behind it. So, the ear looks good to me! 1 Link to comment
RAIDER[COTG]
Wait TIMEOUT lol!!! So that's correct then? I should leave it open though or glue a fabric on the inside of the bucket to cover that (not mesh)? 1 Link to comment
Griffin-X[501st]
Yep, you are good to go. Since the inside of the bucket is black, just cut the holes and you are done. You do not need any mesh or black cloth on the inside. That's a carry over from the classic white scout CRL. Let me know if you need any other help or clarification. Link to comment
RAIDER[COTG]
Okiedokie. Whew. Now...if I did insert a fabric inside the bucket to cover the hole would that still be ok for specialist? I think the bucket is painted...going to post a pic on Saturday after the paint has cured a bit and I've glued the snout greeblie on and the lens. Broke a visor bolt already but I have one at least to hold it all in place for now. I had to order replacement decals as well from Trooperbay which I can put on as well: https://trooperbay.com/sw-shadow-scout-helmet-decals.html Would you be able to tell me where each of those goes though? I know where the 2 trapezoids go and the "C" logo. Do I use all the long stripes on the back? Not sure where the "fishhook"? Am I supposed to use BOTH of the nose bridge decalsn and both of the 3 bar decals or just one...whichever fits the bucket best in proportion? Is that snout decal even necessary or is that for somewhere else? THANKS! Link to comment
Chef[501st]
The hole has to be open for Specialist. No mesh/fabric etc. As for where the decals go. This regular scout should give you an idea Just use one of the nose bridges and the brow tri-bars. I can't remember which of the TrooperBay ones fit best. Think it's the smaller one. Use all the rear stripes. (put them all on at the same time!!). The snout decal is not required as you've probably painted the snout already. 1 Link to comment
RAIDER[COTG]
I think I did this as well as I could. What do you think? Thanks for all your input and advice! You all have been amazing!!! Hope I haven't been too annoying. Link to comment
Darth Emphatic[CMD-DWM]
All looks approvable, brother. Id go ahead and submit it if you havent already. Chef or Jim might have some additional feedback. They know the scout inside and out. Link to comment
Chef[501st]
Looks spanking to me! Swap your biceps round so the little circle details on the greeblies both point forward but other than that... Thats.... Get it in for Specialist too. 1 Link to comment
RAIDER[COTG]
Ah yes...I wasn't sure which way those biceps went. Thanks! How do you do Specialist submission? I already submitted to the Florida GML for approval today...let him know about Specialist, but he said that wasn't on him. Do I need to submit to someone else? Link to comment
Chef[501st]
Yes, they come in here. http://forum.specops501st.com/index.php?/forum/40-the-specialist-program/ Link to comment
Griffin-X[501st]
Well done, this should be an easy approval. My only comment is to pull the bells up a bit more on your shoulders. It's just s look and feel thing. Also, are the rank bars on your tank decals or indentions? As for Specialist, Chef has guided you well. Take a look at a few of the previous submissions and check out what we look for on submissions. I think you're pretty darn close now. Link to comment

Chef[501st]
Also, are the rank bars on your tank decals or indentions? If he used the stuff in the kit they'll be both. An indent with a decal in it. Link to comment
