Rogue One Death Trooper Research/Build Thread

As a point of note I think we should respect the fact that Greg has now declared this as his build thread and move the discussion over to the thread dedicated to optional extras or armour ☺

As with the FOTK, the purchased clip vest was far from close and needed to be heavily altered. I suspect this one may need quite a bit also. All the original clips will have to go, 4 of the pouches will require hard covers (in red), 2 will require soft (in green). At the moment the biggest hurdle are the hard covers and the center straps with locking slides. All will be resolved in good time I suspect.

So I purchased several yards of the Yaya Han fabric from Joanns today and plan to pickup some headliner material to attempt to create my gaskets!

I may use foam or rope to create a more pronounced rib, will be trying several options before I settle on my final result.

I also had a major find today. I located a clip that looks like the chest clips on the ammo rig. It's an open faced web buckle. Two on their way to me!

Awesome find with the buckle Greg! Great job.

I had gone off down the wrong path when I couldn't find anything.

I'm definitely in the hurry up and wait stage. I am having a friend print up parts for the E-11 type blaster. I used the shoretrooper blaster models graciously provided by Sean Fields and chose the components that were common with the DT's blaster. I ended up finding a better E-11 blaster grip model and have another friend providing me the folding stock from an E-11. I will have to craft the front of the barrel from pvc and will order the retractable airsoft stock.

Here's a link to Sean's files.

The prints are under way

Unfortunately, there was an issue so will have to start over on these!

I've got my MP40 pouches on order from Epic Militaria.

Decided to model and 3D print a belt buckle and will mold and then cold cast this using resin with Aluminum powder.

Also got around to painting my SE-14R. Drying to decide if I want to weather it or not.

Decided to see how the Mood Fabric material compares to my FOTK gaskets.

Also, I picked up some of the Yaya Han 4way Pleather material and planned to create the larger ribbed components with it.

I think the Mood Fabric material would work great for the "undershirt components.
