HK G3 substitute option

Recommended Posts

For those who have issues getting real HK G3 mags due to fire arms red tape, here is an option for you. They are light weight and sturdy. 10 pack for around $44 or so bucks is less than $5 each.

I should get these delivered Monday 12 June. When I get them I'll post up some pics and thoughts about what it will take to make these screen accurate.

Chase, they have a few more. I had to work on my VW Thing last night so I didn't get around to opening the magazines and taking pictures. I'll do it this afternoon.

Been kinda busy and haven't worked much on my Specialist accessories. Working on the chest rig right now. They look pretty good. I need to sand down and fill the pellet fill holes.

The details on the sides are exactly 1.12 mm less in depth than the actual metal HK G3 magazines so I am not concerned about "softer" lines and the minor differences. As with helmets and armor with the DT minor differences are in every maker's kits. They actually weigh less than a 3D print by about 3 ounces once I pulled the internal springs out. For what they are intended for I'd say they are perfect for people who; have trouble getting real ones shipped due to local regulations, don't have access to a 3D printer, or refuse to pay ridiculous prices for a piece of plastic on top of shipping charges.

Orginal. Airsoft. Screen used

I am going the 3D printed route as Airsoft is illegal in Australia. But I would probably stick with 3D printed even if airsoft was legal.

I cannot vouch for weight but know that 3D print is lighter than original
