I have been stalking the forum awaiting my kit and parts... and Im happy to say today was Big Brown Box Day!

Base Requirements:

Helmet : Jim Tripon

Undersuit : Jim Tripon

Armour: Jim Tripon

Boots : Imperial Boots

Gloves : Endor Finders

Belt : Need to source

Belt Buckle : Need to source

Ammo Pouches : Jim Tripon

Balaclava : Have one from existing TK

Leather Pouch : Need to source

Leather holster : Need to source

Weapons:

E-11D : Roman Bela

SE-14r : Roman Bela

Generic .22 Scope : Roman Bela

Grenades : Roman Bela

HK Ammo boxes : Roman Bela

Specialist level requirements:

MP40 Ammo Pouch : Need to source

Pauldron : Jim Tripon

Chest Rig : Jim Tripon

32mm belt material : Need to source

Boots are scheduled to arrive tomorrow!

I'm working on going through build threads and mapping out a sanding/priming/painting schedule.

Still need to source for Basic DT:

  • Belt Material
  • Leather Pouch
  • Leather Holster
  • Belt Buckle (unless i missed it in my kit)

So if anyone has so references on the above please let me know.

1st question... I notice Jim's forearm has raised areas where the rubber wrist bands are meant to be. Anyone with Jim's kit care to let me know what they did there?

Thanks all!

If you go to the Death Troopers build group on Facebook you should be able to locate Kerry Alan Rowntree. He makes the leather pouches and holsters and they are fantastic. Not sure if he's a member here on the forum or not.

As for the ridges built into Jim's forearms, I took some 5mm neoprene and have it glued down to one side, wrap around and attach magnetically to the other so I can still open and close the forearm. It works but it's annoying as hell. When I have some time I plan on grinding that piece off and repainting, then going with rubber straps from Andrew McClary.

Love my Jim kit, (also have a fo tk by him) but his DT is and always will be my favourite kit... I'm in Australia so sourcing bits and pieces is probably better for locals (and good suggestions have been made).. but don't be scared to have a go yourself ;)

Welcome aboard brother!!! I can't wait to see this build! As always, my house is open to help you in the build.

On a side note, my bro here lives in the same state, so no special DL assistance here. Lol.

Looking forward to seeing your build! Just wanna confirm, the Imperial boots you bought were the 'killer' ones? They're 501st approved? I wanna purchase but don't wanna spend the cash on a non-approved item. Thanks!

Hey Chris,

Yup I got the Killers.

While no item is automatically 501st approved, from the forum here, and other build groups, many DTs have been approved with the "Killer" boots from Imperial Boots.

Just ensure the boots you get, match the CRL description.

Well, 2019 and the beginning of 2020 were rough... BUT I'm back at it!

If you are still looking around for belt components, the Plastic Arms Dealer has one of the best belts out there and it includes everything except for the leather gear.  The holster and pouch you can find from A&J Projects and they also do the specialist gear, if that is a route you want to pursue.  Just incase you didn't get that information.  ?
