TX 13875 Shadow Scout Build

Hello there,

So it begins. I'm going to start building a Shadow Scout for my next build. I have a Lone Wolf bucket I plan on starting with. I'm going with the matte black. Anyone have a good spray paint brand they recommend?  Most likely going to use Rusto since I know it doesn't run as much as the Krylon. Any advice is welcome.

The CRL model used a Rustoleum satin “black canyon” from WalMart...nothing fancy but with a little bit of sheen. I replicated it but also added a Rustoleum satin clear coat.

Thanks for the info Raider. If mine turns out half as good as yours looks, I’d be happy. Definitely going to use your paint suggestions.

Thanks!  Troop a couple weeks ago.  Im left. CRL model on right.  Mine has clear coat. His does not.  Same base paint though.

Looking for feedback. So while I am working on the shadow scout build, I am concurrently working on bringing my scout up to Lancer. I cut out the boots for the regular scout. Would the detail I cut out on the scout boot also work for the shadow scout specialist?

Made some progress. 2nd coat of paint. I’m really liking this Satin black canyon paint

My thoughts on the boots...the rear cuts look good.  The front...particularly the ridges that only go halfway...I'm not sure they will take that.  Check...I'd be interested to hear what they say.

Just the right amount of sheen to me...

If you have decals...do them all in gloss black.  Trooperbay can provide those with a specific request (order and then send an email citing your order number telling them you want gloss black).

that rustoleum 2x satin canyon black is my go-to. If I shoot flat black I get nothing but tigerstripes in it.  I don't have that problem with the satin.

Finally got around to finishing the Shadow Scout. See link below. Did a test fitting with everything on. Other than a few kitting up issues. any advice recommendations before submitting for peer review? Just looking for basic approval.  FYI-I was wearing a balaclava with the bucket on but took it off for the bucket off pic. I will work on getting some detail pics of the greeblies etc. in the pic drive.

From what I can see, everything looks good for basic approval.  Truthfully with some minor tweaks you could probably get this to Level 2 fairly easily.

Thank you. Since I am the GML of my Garrison, I will put this up in the GML forums on the Legion page. Our CO likes to have all costumes cleared though peer review on the main Legion forum (since not everyone is a member of spec ops and can’t see the feedback). I appreciate the quick response.

Thank you! Congrats to your Raiders first win of the season! My Saints play them next week. I was planning on going but covid ruined it for us.

haha thx!  yea i wanted to make a trip out there this season...but ya know 2020 n all...and man ticket prices for them are skyhigh.
