TampaTrooper
Hello all! So, I'm a first-time builder here for the 501st. I'm currently working on my Aldhani trooper build and have a few questions. I've included pictures below for reference. Also, the buckles for the chest plate are not attached in these photos, and I might sew some stirrups on the pant legs to help keep the blousing down around the knee/thigh area. 1) I've just finished dyeing the soft parts (from KeepTrooping) and they look good in person. But was someone curious if someone could weigh in on whether this color is correct? For reference, I used Dylon Olive Green, per a post I stumbled across on the forums here. I'm not sure which thread exactly. 2) My jacket has rank stripes on the left shoulder, so I was curious if I would be able to achieve level two approval if I sewed Velcro over the rank stripes to attach the shoulder armor. If not, how can I attach the shoulder bells without using Velcro? Any recommendations aside from my questions would be great! Thanks in advance!! Link to comment
Blackwatch[CMD-DCA]
hey Andrew good questins First the shoulder armor isnt attached to the arm, its suspended from the shoulder bridges. Actually none of our cotsumes have the shoulder armor attached to the arm with anything more than a strap going under and around. If you take a look at the CRL Disccussion , where we get REAL DEEP into how these costumes are manufactured, youll see the susspenion used on modern-era armor. This is not how it was done in the past. In the past a T strap was made from elastic, but n the modern era TPU is used to make a hangar. Very different, and you see it moving in the Mandalorian Pretorian Guards in indoor lighting its hard to tell color. It may be fine, but we really need to see it outside on a semi cloudy day to know. If its Olive Green your GML will likely approve, and thats honestly a GML question for Basic. We hope that you apply for Specialsit, using the blue highlighted links in the CRL. Link to comment
