tipperaryred[CMD-DCA]
Another licensed product (Star Wars Shatterpoint, published by Atomic Mass Games) has now confirmed the presence of a generic Inferno style trooper in the Star Wars universe. This trooper is also titled "Imperial Special Forces", consistent with their appearance in Star Wars Legion, published by Fantasy Flight Games. The accompanying artwork is much clearer and less stylised than that which appearance in Star Wars Legion artwork, so I would propose using this instead as the basis of a NTTL CRL application. The artwork shows two variants - on the left a standard "Trooper" and on the right a "Squad Leader". To begin with I will just deal with the Trooper to keep things simple. If this is approved as a NTTL CRL, we can revisit the Squad Leader at a later date. Additional detail is provided by images of the figures themselves painted and published online by the licensed publisher. The thermal detonator is not visible in the main artwork, however the figure photographs clearly show this to be a copy of Iden Versio's TD. Similarly the lower detailing on the boots not visible in the main artwork can be clearly seen in the published photos of the painted figures. Again, these are entirely consistent with the existing Inferno style boots. No compad is visible in either the artwork or the figures, however the angle of the pose would appear to cause the gloves to ride up and hide the compad in each case. All other costumes elements that are common to all three named Inferno members are shown in this Trooper, so I would propose assuming the presence of a consistent Inferno-style compad as well. The following costumes parts are visually identical to the following parts already described in detail in our Inferno Squad - Del Meeko CRL: Helmet. Flight Suit. Shoulder Patches. Torso Armour. Optional Chest Box. Compad (Presumed). Gloves. Holster. Boots. Optional E-11. The remaining elements are described in the Inferno Squad - Iden Versio CRL: Thermal Detonator. Ammo Belt - omitting Iden's drop boxes. I would therefore suggest using our existing Del Meeko CRL as the basis for this proposed NTTL CRL, with additional details drawn from the Iden Versio CRL. As we are dealing with drawn artwork and small figures, I would suggest steamlining the incorporated text to omit detailing that is not readily visible in the Shatterpoint artwork, particular as relates to highly specific Level 2 detail. 1 Link to comment
