Ghostie20[501st]
The CRL is UP F-Yeah!!!(https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:Imperial_security_trooper#Version_One-0)However, I still have a long time to get everything I need and I am hoping if any member and/or IST can tell me where if these items I need are viable to the trooper or not: I. when it comes to the tunic/pants which vendor(outside of keeptrooping[for budgetary reasons]) will sell these part of the costume? II. I saw some boots from crowprops(link here:https://crowprops.bigcartel.com/product/jackboot-black-booties ) and do they fit the bill for the IST or does anyone know another place where I can find the IST boots? III. I am getting the 3d printed parts for the Goggles ready and I want to actually make them functional for my costume. for futher detail I would keep the back fixed but the front unfixed, is that ok to do or no? I will have more questions down the road but these are the ones I can think of now but Ill update when I get the stuff bit by bit and start assembling. Link to comment
Blackwatch[CMD-DCA]
I know crow makes the boots, but research determined these are German navy issue boots, or equivelant. They are a bit chunkier than regular jackboots. They absolutely come up shorter than the IAT/ Andor boot which rises to the knee. Talk to your GML about motorcycle boots, and adding a leather flap and buckle to give the correct look. I dont understand by the goggles being fixed and unfixed? Link to comment
Blackwatch[CMD-DCA]
for L1 approval the goggles may be removed and worn, but for L2 they need to be permanently fused / mounted / printed on the helmet because on the actual filming prop it was part of the helmet. You can see that some actually had the lens fall out during filming. 1 Link to comment
Ghostie20[501st]
ok well I know for sure that I will stay as a basic with a few lvl 2 features after approval, since I definaltey want functional goggles and boots that are not too rare and can fit me. Link to comment
Ghostie20[501st]
So, Right now I want to show that I have receive a IST kit from Uncle who got from Intergalactic Supply(image here): Now I will say even though I am excited to build this there are some things that might get in the way such as me finishing my sandtrooper backpack which I am determine to finish, next I was wondering if any Mudtroopers, Andor Army Troopers, and ISTs can help me find any WIP post with the same manufacturer, so I have a clue what I am getting into, third I know that I will be 3D printing other items that didn't comes with the kit but are a necessity for the trooper. Finally, since this is made out of plastic like ABS(maybe) I think it should be easy but will need clarity on how far I should cut to make it flexible than stiff, also the helmet is a two piece like the AT-ST Drivers and the other Army Trooper, will this still cut it for the IST? Another thing I want to ask is where can I find a black liner or a whatchamacallit that goes around the bottom part of the helmet(if your confused look at a mudtrooper helmet you'll see a black liner at the bottom part of the green helmet or and AT-ST driver helmet for reference and Batum). Soon I will be doing a detailed WIP on putting the armor stuff together since if any future IST wants to build the armor there will be a guide to help guide them. Also I will post a list of stuff to get for the IST from the armor, 3D printed parts for helmet, goggles and armor and items to make the goggles too. so when I finish my TD backpack keep your eye out for those things as I like to be detailed on how to put things together and where to get them. I don't think so I meant the liner that goes around the helmet but I might use Sean's Muddy-ICAT-Aldani Helmet that already has the liner ingrained so its less of an hassle. Link to comment
Blackwatch[CMD-DCA]
oh you meant the rim that goes all the way around it. Ive used rubber stripping on my other similar helmets in the past (ATST, Army trooper, Sapper, Veers) Link to comment
