  1. The earphones I bought came with an adaptor the green circle.
  2. Wow It's been awhile, ok lets get back to it!!
  3. Very good info thank you. I have used these techniques and they work very good!
  4. Well that concludes this exciting episode of The Ruck Show. Stay tuned for our next new and exciting installment, you never know what might happen…….. Well ok so you know whats gonna happen but it's still cool!
  5. As you can see in the pic above once I had all the wires connected I used wire loom inside the tubing to keep the wires from coming out from behind the tubing once I installed it in the bucket, plus I'm a little OCD when it comes to the small details. I wanted it to look cool even if no one else saw it. The battery box you see in the pic does not stay there it's a temp holding place.
  6. I left the hole a little snug so it will hold the switch in place. I then cut a piece of my Granger foam and tapered it so it would fit into the tubing I cut a small rectangle into the center of that and pushed it onto the back side of the switch. This offers support for the switch and a firm backing when turning the switch on and off.
  7. I started off cutting a small rectangular hole in the tubing again cut off a little at a time as you can always make the hole bigger but you can't make it smaller.
  8. The next thing you have to decide is where you want to mount your LED switch. I mounted mine towards the front in the tubing
  9. I took both sound boards and put the wiring with the wire loom into the holes I made in the tubing and pushed it in about half an inch or so. I cut some more heat shrink and placed it over each wire then took the wires from the sound boards and connected the two +'s together then connected the -'s together. I took some small connectors that would slide onto the switches three prongs and crimped one on the + wires from the sound boards, slid the heat shrink over the end of the connector then heated it. I then took the - from the battery box and spliced it with the - from the sound boards I took a connector and crimped it onto the end then slid the heat shrink over that connector end and heated it. I then took the Battery + slid heat shrink on and crimped the last connector on then slid the heat shrink over the end of that connector and heated it.
  10. Before I started this project, I got all the parts I wanted and needed I new what I wanted so it was easy I just had to find them. I found some really cool mini LED rocker switches on ebay for like $5.
  11. Basically you are just adding length. At this point you need to figure out how much length you will need and add wire accordingly.
  12. Take one of your 9v batt boxes and add Dupont wires to the ends of those wires
  13. Repeat for the other box. Now the fun begins no not that fun. not that either.
  14. Take six Dupont wires and cut some heat shrink, always put the heat shrink on first take my word on this I think I waisted about a foot of the stuff before I got it into my thick skull. Cut off the one end of four of the Dupont wires then slide on the heat shrink over each wire then splice the wires to the wires coming out of the box, slide the heat shrink over each splice then shrink it with a heat gun. I got mine from the home depot and it has a digital temp setting so I can control the temp. Very handy as a multipurpose heat tool. I like the heat shrink it makes a real nice and strong splice. With the last two wires you didn't cut take the female ends and slide them over the male ends on the board marked with the green circle in pic 2, there hard to see in the pic but there there. Then slide the piece of wire loom you cut earlier over the wires and into the box. I slide mine in about a half inch If all goes as planned it will look something like this.
  15. Take the the boxes and cut off the ends the green circles and orange squares
  16. Once you get that done set that off to the side you will be extending the wires again.
  17. Measure and cut the length for the wire loom you'll need, you won't need much but make sure you cut it a little longer you can always cut extra off. You want it to go into the box and the tubing both at least an inch so it won't pop out when moving it around and you will be doing that trust me.
  18. I used the same method as before putting the holes in the boxes, I took my wood burning tool with the bigger tip and melted the holes into the boxes. It is cleaner and makes a more uniform hole you just have to cut off the extra plastic. The holes should be a bit smaller than the wire loom you are using so they stay secure. Then where you marked the tubing melt the holes there and clean them up the same way.
  19. Ok back to it. In this segment we will be lining up where the wires will be going into the tubing, and putting holes in the sound board boxes for the wires to come out and holes in the tubing where the wires will go in.
  20. Wow that is a great post!! Thank you for all the info. helps to make an informed decision.
  21. As many of you might have found out when buying things to up grade your TK, TX, or what ever you might be looking for, most of the time the web is your best way to find what your looking for, you can shop all over to get what you want in seconds not hours. The draw back waiting for shipping. I have spent many hrs. shopping local hardware stores, hobbie shops, and some mega stores. For the time and money online is the best choice, just watch where your getting things from, if there from outside the US I have in most cases waited weeks, I'm not talking 1, 2, or 3 weeks I'm talking more like 6 to 8 weeks. It really sucks when your wanting to work on your armor and have to wait on parts that long.
  22. I originally bought some foam from the craft store that was a light cream like off white color and used black dye to color it black. It was thicker and softer. I was happy with the color but my wife wouldn't let me use it, she said the dye would come off on my skin. Well seeing that I've been married to her for 14yrs. and stopped questioning her on these things I opted to get different foam. I did a little searching and found what I was looking for at Granger.com. It was a dark gray foam that was more firm it worked perfect and was very easy to work with.
  23. Thanks Nick, I've worked really hard on this and put in a ton of time. It's nice to see that people appreciate the hard work that has gone into this. Thank you!!
