  1. They're easy to paint, no sense waiting for Anovos
  2. Well if you look outside this website it's definitely not on the back burner. I think we have 4 builders + working diligently on their versions. The DT is a very complex costume, IMHO one of the most complex TK versions to date. Getting all the details correct is going to take some time, being entirely black doesn't make the task any easier. The FOTK isn't as complex as this and it's been out for a year, and we're still at basic CRL. This will definitely take some time and if it has a big roll in the movie (unlike Captian Phasma) it will be one bad a$$ costume I think most will want to add to their collection.
  3. Depends on where you live. There's another thread already discussing this. http://forum.501stsp...__40#entry63114
  4. Thx. Yea correct location always helps. BTW, the template borders are just about a pencil with wide, almost makes it dummy proof.
  5. Just a little update. I jumped ahead on the tube stripes because I know there's many following this and may be interested to see. I'll elaborate in detail later but in a nut shell I used TK tube stripe templates from TrooperBay and Testers 1149 flat black (as Todd suggested) and here's the results. For those who don't want to wait and see if Anovos will supply the decals, painting is just as easy IMHO. Trooperbay https://trooperbay.c...sking-templates
  6. Can someone confirm if the traps, tears and tube stripes are to be the same color?
  7. Good luck with getting Anovos to update anything. We, the FISD staff came up with and sent Anovos a list of HIGHLY recommended updates needed to the OTTK, so far we've only seen updated is the belt and some of the armor pulls looking better. I wouldn't hold your breath. Thanks for the kudos BTW, but really, I'm just another builder lol
  8. That is correct, no tube stripes on my helmet. No problem
  9. Well if you decide to sell these please let me know.
  10. This is pretty cool. Maybe you can sell them as an attachment either held on by the laces or velcro.
  11. I'll have to take another look at mine. Didn't pay attention to that when I unboxed it to be honest. CRL does require it so if they're not there it will certainly bet getting some.
  12. I think the pulls are thin in areas because the aluminum pucks are not allowed to cool long enough. Just like the first gen ottk, they were in such a hurry to mass produce these I'm sure cooling things down between pulls wasn't an option.
  13. I completely understand, it's a very common problem we deal with them. No worries for the hijack
  14. Thighs before Cut line After Shins before After To be continued.....
  15. Rough cut trimming, all sections. Final trimming and pre assembly will be done by category at a latter date. At that time I should have started the Sections, Navigation & Checklist on page one. Starting from the top and working our way down. As with the OTTK armor Anovos has predetermined where to cut the armor. There are indent lines approximately 1/4"-1/2" away from the return edges. I'll try to illustrate the lines bit it is difficult with the black armor, so look closely. If you're unsure where the lines are don't hesitate to ask. Oh and forgive me for the bad lighting pics. As mentioned above I'll be installing Mr. Nostripe brackets instead of the Anovos supplied elastic and velcro. The lower return edge cut line on the chest is not marked clearly or correctly so if you're installing brackets also you may need to cut outside the cut line to give yourself room for bracket mounting areas. Chest plate before Lower return edge cut line Chest After Lower return edge Back plate before After Lower return edge section Ab plate before After Upper return edge Kidney plate before. NOTE: The material was paper thin around the side edges especially near the 22mm notches. This was a common problem with the gen 1 suits so be careful when trimming. After Lower return edge Posterior or butt plate After Shoulder bells, Shoulder covers, Ab button plates, Sniper knee, Thigh ammo belt, and Hand plates (though I won't be using the plastic hand plates). Before Very faint cut line After Thigh after trimming Biceps before Biceps after Forearms: Anovos has supplied two cut lines on both left and right outer halves. This gives those with large hands and/or forearms options. I went with the inner line due to I have thinner arms. Before Cut line After to be continued.....
  16. lol. I know I like to torture myself. It literately takes me three times as long to build armor accompanied by a tutorial, but I can't help it I like making them haha.
  17. I'm about to start trimming so I'll let you know
