  1. Looks pretty sweet. Tell us a bit about the armor! -iz
  2. There isn't enough decorative stitching to disqualify the gloves. That generally means top ribbing and such. Having a single leather stripe and buckle down the part of the glove that is hidden buy the forearm isn't an issue, and neither is the leather palm. -iz
  3. I have a pretty good source for gloves. If you want the info PM me. They resemble nomex flight gloves, only are cheaper. -iz
  4. I won't get into a canon vs custom debate in a build thread. However my job as XO is to support the EU canon and research further ways to accurately replicate the armor to match known references. My job as Alpine's armorer this year is also to advise people on how to accurately replicate the armor so it'll pass the GML/LMO approval process. Unfortunately, I have to stick my personal opinions on a shelf for this, but it does mean that I've had motivation to search harder to find the references I need to get the things I do like approved! (Just need to find EU flash references now! I'm sure they'll be coming any day!) -iz
  5. I would love to know where you got those pouches! -iz
  6. So far I believe everyone's used what I used, which is that Rustoleum metallic gold. However, if you think you've found something better i would love to see it! I'm always looking for upgrades! -iz
  7. Looks nice. Post some new 360 degree pics! Also, I can't see it from the photos. To you have the button details on the ab plate? -iz
  8. If you have it at a good fit right now then just pick you poison - Glue or Velcro and go for it... If this is your first build, I'd velcro first and glue later if you feel it's needed. -iz
  9. Can't wait to see some pics! -iz
  10. A glossy belt is preferred, but canvas ones will pass the LMO's inspection. -iz
  11. What he said. Your O2 looks a bit crooked. What do you have that attached with? -iz
  12. I would probably get the armor approved first... then when you work out the kinks and it gets approved, make a mold and vacuform it. You could probably sell a few kits to recover your costs. -iz
  13. Yay for shins! Hard to tell with the stripes until it's actually on something black. -iz
  14. The LMO does approve them with gray, BUT the references we have only show black or maybe a REALLY dark gray.. -iz
  15. I just shot a rebel! Wait... it was just a wraith...

and you actually update this.. well sorta :P

  16. The expensive part is building the armor! -iz
  17. Split the topic so we can keep the reference pic thread full of just reference pics. -iz
  18. A TK. He would of had us all crying if he painted a TX. -iz
  19. Actually, if you look closely at the two, the paint scheme is the same. It's just hard to see the subtle differences between the silver and the gray with the blue lights going on. So the Wii version is still accurate just minus the lights. -iz
  20. Yes! A sure sign of armoring going on! Looks alot like my garage at the moment. Do you have scout stickers in a flat black instead of gray? I may even be interested then. -iz
  21. Yes..? Okay, well I really don't know anything, but that sounds like a good answer.
