  1. Right now I'd stick with the kinds of goggles found here: http://forum.specops501st.com/index.php?/topic/5342-imperial-army-trooper-parts-list-resource/ However we will be modifying the Trooper CRL and will be presenting the proposal next week, if you'd rather wait for a bit.
  2. Yep, these are items being reviewed by the CRL Team this weekend. The cargo pockets are in that list as well as reviewing types of pouches. Give us the weekend and we'll make an official statement on Monday.... However, the cargo pockets are so prominent in the panels, it's prey much safe to say they will be made a requirement.
  3. Yeah, basically any LFL approved artwork of the character that fills in the items we're currently missing would be good.
  4. Star Wars Galaxies had all armor looking like they were matte, due to the limitations to the rendering process at the time. Art references for that line of troopers however depict more of a gloss/semi-gloss, so we drew the conclusion the sheen was the same across the board.
  5. I appreciate everyone's enthusiasm for this costume and encourage you to keep looking for the reference materials needed to complete the missing parts of this CRL. However, we need to work within the Legion guidelines and gather the sources required to bring this costume back to life. All Legion Costumes follow the same guidelines set forth here: https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CharacterApproval Unfortunately according to the New to Legion policy: "Costumes based only on text descriptions cannot be approved." If official LFL art was released based on the writer's description came to light, that would definitely change things. This is how the Snow Scout eventually became an official costume after years of not having enough references to do so. So please keep an eye out for the sources needed and don't hesitate to present them when found.
  6. These changes as well as several CRL changes are being looked at by the CRL team this weekend and will be opened for Detachment review next week.
  7. This costume has been reviewed by members of the CRL team and this CRL is going to need to be re-written for accuracy reasons. Please keep contributing any thoughts and research on this costume so we can discuss including it in the future CRL proposal.
  8. THe CRL team is review this proposal with changes this weekend and this thread will be updated and opened for Detachment review next week.
  9. Right now we've had the shift of command this month and everyone settling into their new positions, and talking with the LMOs. The "Pioneer Configuration" as been removed from this CRL and given it's own which can be found here: http://forum.501stsp...nding-approval/ As we have a current build for that, it's our next focus along with a couple clean up items in the IA Trooper CRL. I can tell you the the Sappers or Combat Engineers, will require the helmet, goggles, and packpack in the CRL as seen here: That's all we currently have. It's the next thing on the list to have our focus after the Engineer submission for approval.
  10. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story: SWCE 2016 Display: Hot Toys Action Figure: Marvel Comics - Darth Vader Annual #2 HeroProp Auction (03/03/2023)
  11. Just saw that you never got your TM question answered. I'm checking to see if anyone on staff has experience with that armor.
  12. Hey! Are we going to see a reveal at the garrison meeting?
  13. The helmet is always the best thing to purchase to keep the inspiration going!
  14. I can't wait to see this happen from start to finish. Glad you decided to share it with us. So much can be learned.
  15. Cool. Little known fact. You can use a small amount of Novus 2 polish to remove scratches and blemishes from Rustoleum Pro paint once it cures.
  16. Go here for the collection of images: http://forum.specops501st.com/index.php?/topic/5473-imperial-army-reference-images/
  17. Hopefully we can find a good 360 of that model.
  18. Just wanted to touch base. This thread isn't being ignored. We're in a transition from last year's staff, into the upcoming staff, so permissions are being granted, goals for the year are being set, and responsibilities are being delegated. You'll probably notice more artwork has been getting posted as I find it, as I'll still actively working on regaining our lost sources. I believe I also need to revisit some of the old threads, for the reasons why some choices were made on the CRL. I wouldn't suggest visiting the old zetaboards for information, as the CRLs there were highly inaccurate when compared to source material and were originally written around what troopers wanted to do with their armor, and not by keeping in line with the available visual references and other sources. Items that were removed from those past CRLs were removed to align the costume to Legion expectations. When the staff gets settled and I'm able to verify if my memory from 8 year ago is correct concerning this costume, we'll address this fully. -iz
  19. Post is pinned. My thoughts on the levels. So far the only level 3 certifications are on the gloves and boots. Level 2 being the material they're made of and level 3 being their shape. Honestly, as in the end it's more the appearance than the actual material, I'd propose making level two the combination of both, and getting rid of level 3 entirely. i.e. For level two certification (if applicable): Boots are made of leather. Original German jack boots (or “Knobelbechers”) or an authentic replication thereof. Boots have the top adjustment strap.
  20. A CRL proposal for the Engineer with some suggested Level 2 & 3 certifications can be found here: http://forum.specops501st.com/index.php?/topic/5540-imperial-army-engineer-crl-pending-approval/ All discussion and further edits will be contained there for organizational purposes.

  22. If you're going shiny (which I believe his references show him shiny) I'd try sealing the paint with future shine. I actually have a bottle you could use. It's a floor sealant, so it's made to take more abuse than the normal clear coat. The paint I used to get my painted parts to match my glossy black ABS on my Nova was Rustoleum Professional.
