  1. Yeah I am reasonably confident all is well. Even if something has been damaged it's all easy enough to fix. Not to mention that Dennis is a top bloke with excellent customer service
  2. Orginal. Airsoft. Screen used I am going the 3D printed route as Airsoft is illegal in Australia. But I would probably stick with 3D printed even if airsoft was legal. I cannot vouch for weight but know that 3D print is lighter than original
  3. The details are softer than the real deal and I imagine that they weigh quite a bit too compared to a 3D print
  4. So I am up at Falls Creek this week doing some snowboarding, and this BBB arrived at my work a week earlier than expected! So will be picking it up sometime this weekend to inspect and check all is well In the meantime I am hoping for more snow and more sunny days! The long road continues
  5. Imperial Boots "Killer" Dr Martens Talib or Mayer
  6. Really loving your work. It's the attention to detail and taking the time to do it right that will yield a great result. How does the gloss black look against the Anovos bucket? I'm doing the Anovos bucket with 3D printed parts so am looking at the colour matching with great interest
  7. I sent you some pics via messenger of an early prototype so you can get a better look
  8. Firstly I need to acknowledge Tom Campbell for allowing me to see his speed strap as that is where I got the dimensions from and how to assemble it. So for the belt loop there are two female caps and two males that are held together by a small bolt and nut. I will be posting a full tutorial on how to build these things in a separate how to thread. Hit me up via messenger on Facebook Chris if you need to seek further clarification And on with other news: I now have a tracking number for my BBB! In the box is: Standard armour Specialist armour Extra shoulder bell to use for charity events e.g Pink bell for cancer awareness. Undersuit I am excited about its arrival with the excitement being offset by some of the challenges I will face!
  9. Nice. Looking forward to seeing how this progresses.
  10. Completed pouch and holster I ended up doing the pouch and holster myself because no one is offering a screen accurate set. If anyone is interested I have some spare materials and will make a set for you for a modest fee
  11. So my armour should be finished printing this weekend and hopefully posted this coming week. It should be here by the time I get back from a week long snow trip I have been busy working on the E-11D. This weapon although quite simple is made up of lots a pieces, some of them very small. Removing the print lines has been a process of sanding, then using auto putty, sanding then spray putty and more sanding. I have been using Zap-a-gap CA glue to get all the bits together and sometimes seal some gaps. I also had a couple of things break, but CA glue is soooo good in some cases makes it stronger I have a real torch and real swivel mounts for the strap. I have made some modifications for my own pleasure. Mostly just glueing some parts instead of bolting them. I am not going to put in any electronics.
  12. Hi there and welcome to Special Ops! Part of any build is research. I spent months researching everything I could about this costume as not only is it complicated, but also expensive! The fun of assembling this costume outweighs the complexities and cost! Unfortunately there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to researching your costume. I have found like most things to do with building a costume so far is that patience is key and that research is without a doubt going to save you money and time. Jimi is a member here and you can reach out to all 3 of the makers you listed on Facebook I would recommend that you hit them up and find out what they offer and their pricing. Then look up some of the builds, analyse the look of the built costumes and match them with CRL and reference materials. There are differences between them all and some of it just comes down to personal choice, finances, time or abilities. With some kits a lot of effort is required to get them to a finished state, others not so much. And by finished it doesn't necessarily mean "whole costume" either. There's Undersuit. Boots. Belts. Leather pouch and holster. Gloves etc. The list is pretty extensive! There's also a wealth of info in the Death Trooper ROU thread, it keeps me occupied in between phases of my build Good luck with your build and look forward to how you progress
  13. There is a couple other differences between Talib and Jared, and that is the back heel part is cut differently and has a tab mid way up the back of the shoe. Here's a pic of the two side by side. I have terribly scribbled the main differences.
  14. Congrats mate. You managed to move pretty quickly on the build! Looks great
  15. There is currently only entry level approval. There are no "higher" requirements at this stage. I imagine if there is then the Jared or very similar would be required.
  16. Congratulations you look fantastic. Nice work!
  17. I don't even know where or what I was up to so I'll just post a couple of things. Firstly my boots and gloves arrived from Imperial Boots. Took less than three weeks from ordering to delivery. I am almost finished on my SE-14r as well. There's some glue to tidy up and a little weathering to complete. I am very happy with how it's turned out. There's been a lot going on so sorry for the light update. In other news my armour is being printed so that is due to arrive in a few weeks along with my undersuit.
  18. I updated my list. I have received a generic.22 scope for my SE-14r blaster. I got my pauldron today as well. I got the rest of the weathering kits and my matte black snaps for the leather work. Last week forgot to provide an update about receiving my chest rigs, which I need to dye black so I picked up some dye and a sewing machine from Spotlight. Yep. I bought a sewing machine!
  19. Hi there and welcome! There are a few makers of kits. Some are more DIY than others, but either way it's going to take some work and a fair amount of money to get it all together. ArmoryShop 850 Armour Jim Tripon KB Props Are some places you can start. Each one has a different process and you will need to research thoroughly before committing to the build. You will also find a wealth of information in the CRL and Death Trooper research threads here. Plus ask questions!
  20. Hey there. The jered shoe has been out of circulation for a couple of years and from my research near impossible to find. Your best bet is Imperial Boots killer model but if you want to stick to Dr Martens the n your next best bet is to get the Dr Marten Talib or if you can find the Mayer. Good luck with your hunting!
  21. Here's my leather pouch. I glued the two pieces together and finished it using the Matte acrylic finisher. All I need now is the matte black snaps that are on the way and to think of a clever way to mount this to my belt. I've started a second one. Will see how it goes but I am documenting the whole process. Will post here or start a new thread if that's the better thing to do? Also here is my SE-14r so far. Have removed all the print lines, filled, sanded, liquid putty spray and then sanding. I have started to assemble it where I can. I am also waiting on a real scope that I bought for 8 bucks from AliExpress! I also started on the E-11D as well but forgot to take pics while it was all still out. Next time! I have a delivery waiting for me at work as well. My chest rig and buckles have arrived, also waiting on a million other things too.
  22. I will post up full details later. I plan on making a few of these with the leftover material
