  1. thanks for the info ... i looked into the crl for the shadow scout and a couple others and didnt see anything about weathering im not sure how to get something like that approved for the costumes but, i think it would be nice addition .. some flat black blaster marks .. maybe, even go down to the basecoat and show some grey in the mark i guess the natural weathering im picking up from building the costume will work too
  2. heya, wondering what type of weathering i could do to a scouts armor and helmet ? is there any ? and if not .. can the powers that be let us weather our scouts?
  3. seriously? if you head over to pathfinder section there is a lancer build thread by strider, in wich he mentions how to build a td. anyways, youll need a od of 1 3/8†braided vinyl hose from home depot... the come in 2 foot lengths and 2 12' 16/2 extension cords, also from home depot .. splitting the cord down the middle and using the side that doesnt have lines in it the length of your td will be different than others .. but it should be about 1 1/2†from the last box on your belt have a look at thread on pathfinders here http://forum.bikersc...ndpost&p=159336 good luck!
  4. well, i completed my 4th rs scout helmet build and did it up in a shadow scout variant and i decided to go with grey details on matte/flat black helmet with chrome lens -- using a hjc motorcycle helmet visor i really dont like the look of black on black for the helmet and glad i didnt go that route and honestly looking at 1 figurine for a reference pic listed here when there are multiple figurines showing more than solid black is abit odd to me imo, and i mean no offense ... but, crl doesnt match what very little references i could find ... ie: like a dark blue or dark grey suit and not the all black as seen here http://clonetrooperp...ormcommando.jpg or as seen on many other figurines anyways, heres a few pics of my finished rs helmet kit
  5. thanks for the info and reply. i ended up getting some mirror tint and will tint a sa lens i found with some help from strider plus tint a regular clear lens material i have left over from a welding shield as for the decals .. i have ordered a couple of trooperbays decals in the past and after doing some sa research his fishhook logo is to skinny for my liking the rest of his decals are good/work for what i needed as well, his decals for shadow scout look like they are a flat sheen ... and this is another problem for my build as i am going with a matte finish on the helmet rather than glossy i figure i need gloss decals and accents for my build i have been looking into to printing my own decals or even having a local shop create the decals i need using the rs decals i have as a pattern
  6. alright, going to build another scout helmet .. i have built 2 rs prop master biker scout kits so far. figured i would do another one but, do it up shadow scout style with 1 of the new kits im receiving but, im not sure on a few things so, i figure i would ask as i said, im getting another rs prop masters kit and well the decals are meant to be on a white helmet so.... is there a source for proper decals available here? is there a source for a silver lens? and just to clarify and to get more accurate with the build: ~ the bolts are black -- same color as helmet or different sheen? --- gloss helmet w/satin or flat sheen black bolts? ~ the entire snout is black -- same color as helmet or different sheen? --- gloss helmet w/satin or flat sheen black snout? now, with the biker scout the area around the snout is black .. how do you all prefer to do the shadows snout outline or is there even one? and would you do a different sheen there too? thanks in advance for any help on this
