  1. Can I add these here to help with the other part of this build, the boxes? Here are the patterns. Obviously flip the pattern for the other box. Really easy to build based off these measurements and the walk through. If anyone needs help please reach out!
  2. Hey there! was just wondering if you ever got started on this, or if you were still needing help? I just did my cummerbund for both my shadow and Swamp trooper, so its fresh in my mind lol. If you have any questions or need clarification for anything, please let me know!
  3. Great start to this thread. Hope you dont let it go and are able to push to finish. As a GML I will echo what others have said and tell you that with the major on come of 3D printing, we really scan and check for that when doing our judging. Make sure they are not visible at any angle. the hard part with black is getting things like that not to show up. I will also add, with your soft goods, that cummerbund needs to come up alot. remember, your belt will be worn around your waist, not your hips (like most people wear pants now). You are gonna want you cummerbund sitting about half way up your bicep as it will tuck under your chest plate. For me, I installed hook and loop, one on the back of the chest and one facing away from the body on the cummerbund to keep it in place. I also have a spot on my vest that matches the other side of the cummerbund to keep that in place lol. Its alot of extra to insure no movement but that can be done at any time. great thing with submission photos is you can readjust between takes. rule of thumb with 3d prints, if you think you are done, do one more round of Bondo, sand, paint. The boots are a lot easier than they look. I have built 4 sets of boots now. If you need anything please ask. Take you time. and read lots of builds about it. You can also message me if needed for further explanation if you dont want to ask here, but asking here helps not only yourself, but other shadow scouts looking for help. You got this man! keep us updated please!!!
  4. Well, I just cant stop with these Spec Ops kits.... Here is my 4th and Final (for now) Spec Ops submission, my Nova Sentinel. I love the added Silver and the way it pops off the black. Let me know what yall think. Heck, maybe even a seat at the table for the detachment? lol. but serious if help is needed let me know!
  5. Well here she is! Swamp Trooper submitted for approval! I think everything looks good but you never know! If you all see anything that needs to be fixed let me know so I can update my submission. Feels good being green again!
  6. So had gotten this kicked back because they did not see a Balaclava in my pics...I am a GML and still get silly kick backs lol. but totally happy they hold the same standard across the board. and we here in Star are very much wanting to uphold standards of our costumes. Also had to clean up the ear holes and rotate the biceps forward a bit. have sent in fix photos so just waiting to hear back.
  7. Just got word! TX 21523 reporting in! Shadow Stormtrooper is approved! Ill be heading over to get my Detachment access shortly!
  8. Thanks! Hopefully will be something to celebrate soon!
  9. Small update. Havent gotten to finish my Swamp trooper just yet. Will be working on that this week. Ended up letting yet another costume take priority (idk why) but Grees swampy will be the next one finished. Have submitted my Shadow Scout and a Shadow Stromtrooper (kicked back with simple fixes) so hopefully I will be able to rejoin the Detachment soon. TFU Senate Guard is also almost done. Just need to sand and paint the helmet, and finish the forearms.
  10. This is 1 of 3 costumes of the Spec Ops detachment that I have submitted. Well worked on, this is the second submission. The first was my Shadow Stormtrooper, and the third will be my second built Swamp Trooper. Here are the pictures below of my Shodow Scout. The kit is from Studio Creations and the paint is rostellum Black Crayon Satin. Love love love this color!
  11. So I got my app kicked back. No special privlage even for a GML lol. I was told that the suit looks grey, so took photos to confirm its not. And also was told the TD button placement was wrong and needed to be rotated up. So fixed those things this weekend and have resubmitted pics. Hoping to hear back soon. Also was able to submit my shadow scout.
  12. Well its funny how things work out. I have been working on a Swamp Trooper and a Shadow Scout for a bit now. I was lucky enough to have a GF that loves me very much, and for Valentines day, got my an Anovos Shadow Stormtrooper kit a buddy of mine was selling. I pushed everything else aside and hit this kit hard. I didnt like the belt that came with the kit so I made my own (plus the holster was mounted with four Chicago screws instead of just the two). Everything else went together well and I have submitted. Luckily the build is almost exactly the same as a TK and this was my second go at it. Here is to joining this detachment again very soon! Should have my Swamp trooper and Shadow Scout done as soon as the weather starts acting right and I can Paint some parts.
  13. Ill definitely be posting pics. Im hoping the weather clears a bit today and I can get the rest of my shadow and maybe my swampy painted. Unfortunately i think the drop boxes are 4 to 6 weeka out but thats ok lol. My two spec ops was built following my Biker scout which just got submitted. So at least if I need to fix anything ill know it and will have time to do so
  14. And Swamp Trooper Soft goods are done. Just waiting on drop boxes and painting parts and will be able to submit Shadow and Swampy
  15. I had not but will investigate more tomorrow. If nothing else I might try and 3d print one. Thank you for the help!
  16. Cummerbund and Pouches done. Really happy with how this turned out.
  17. Boots are all done and Holsters mounted. Anyone have a good lead to a Holdout blaster?
  18. Alright yall so just posting another small update. I have finished my Shadow Cummerbund and cod piece. Really happy with the way they came out but its a little tight, so hopefully once I lose some weight it will look better, but shouldnt keep me from getting approved. Also, I just submitted my ROTJ biker scout, and will be using the same vest and flight suit from that, so if that gets approved I know I wont have any issues with the Swamp and Shadow scout. My next move is to paint the rest of the armor. Still need the upper arm and forearms to get painted. Have the chest, back, and shoulders put together (Shadow scout). Just need to do the boots and the pouches, and waiting to get some drop boxes in for the belt. But I do have some 3D printed ones I can finish and use until the ABS comes in. On my Swampy, which some how got pushed to being finished last lol, I still need to paint the arms and knees, and sew the soft goods. I am anticipating this to all get done over the next week or so. I believe I have all the materials needed to finish and will post pictures either today or tomorrow of what I have so far.
  19. I am not one for the gloss colors and really love that Matt black I went with for the shadow, but yeah that green is something else and I do love the color as well.
  20. Small update. going to bypass most the 3d printed parts as its been putting me off from trying to finish these kits. Got the main body painted for both swamp and shadow. Everything but belt boxes were ordered from Studio Creations, highly recommended for any scout style trooper, and will hopefully get those in soon.
  21. I tried talking to walt about it and he seemed disinterested, so what will most likely happen is I will need to look about going the route of 3d printing the missing parts. As stated I dont think it would be hard and I for one love costumes where you can change a few parts and be in something different.
  22. Why did this die? I am looking into this trooper as I just got my Rebels TK in from Walt. It appears that there are only a few differences in the armor and most of it is the same. The helmet, jetpack (rocket pack?), the forearms and the shoulder bells. Has anyone else started working on this?
