Woodo007[TX]
Couple of other bits I am working on. Bought some straps from Paul Prentice. They have a curve to them and they sit perfectly on the armour. Need to work out how I am going to fit them fully with the buckles. Any method you think works the best Mark? They are nice and long. I am thinking of cutting a slot in the back plate for them to feed through. I also got some resin buckles from Paul which are awesome When u compare them to How straight straps sit you can see how good curved ones Work. Here is the dodge car mat ones: And the ones 3d printed by armoryshop shop: I had not been happy with any of the others so these are a godsend from Paul Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Link to comment
Woodo007[TX]
Made my visor for the printed lid. Is clearer to see out of than my anovos and u can't see my eyes as easy as the anovos. I will add some tint stuff they use on car glass to completely eliminate. Cut the shape out of 3mm acrylic, stuck in oven for 20 mins. I had already 3d printed the lens shape so held the acrylic to it and dunked in water Also added some vinyl to one of my grenades. Liking the look. Will look cool in photos. Carried out the mod to the back plate tonite for the straps which involved drilling and dremelling two slots to feed them through. Should work well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Link to comment
Woodo007[TX]
Added the sticker from stuart galloway so my se14r. Perfect solution Finished up my E11d paint and decals Put some heat effect on this and my Roman version. Have sold the Roman one on now. Next step is electrics in the Tom Campbell version Been doing a few bits that I can but yet again the cold is really holding me up. So after chopping that piece off the shin and gluing then on I tried them on with undersuit and boots... but didn't factor that the boots will spread the shins open [emoji849][emoji51] So, prised them back off (E6000 thankfully) and Re stuck. Another suit up and found the left hand perfect but right still got a gap so redid that one. Had another suit up and have got it just right this time Even with foot bent heavily no problems so now need to do some filling work to tidy it up A plus point is that they are a lot easier to get on and off this way [emoji106] Got my buckled mounted on the chest. Having the Paul prentice extended straps under the buckle means they sit really nice on the chest Got the chest rig out and working out where I will be sewing the straps into it Got some more resin and some tissue fibreglass matting to line the inside of my printed helmets. Got the 96% scale one near finished with filling Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Link to comment

Woodo007[TX]
Last one for now I promise 😠Wife gave me a pass this weekend so went to town on all my armour. So everything has been given a go over with 240 grit I am about halfway through them again with 400grit. Then on to 1000 and that should do it before paint. Did some fibreglass reinforcing to my printed bucket. Big difference from when I did fibreglassing in the summer. Complete nightmare getting the resin to go off. It has however added a bit of weight to it which is good Did some filling of the reglued shin pieces. The pic is of the shins opened up And we have a new addition to the house which is currently freaking everybody out [emoji23] will hopefully help me with strapping etc and will be awesome as a mannequin for my armour to sit on when I eventually get my game room/man cave Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Link to comment
nanotek[CMD-DWM]
Looking great mate! Now that it is going to start getting warmer you'll be done in no time. You need to practice the puppy dog eyes on the missus to keep the ball rolling 1 Link to comment

You need to practice the puppy dog eyes on the missus to keep the ball rolling Thx Mate. To be fair my wife is being amazing and giving me a lot of free rein to hide out in the garage building. She has also stopped moaning about the constant deliveries to the house. I think she wants my build done as much as I do now 2 Link to comment
nanotek[CMD-DWM]
I thought that might be the case! Also where did you get the sticker for your SE-14r? Looks good! Link to comment
Woodo007[TX]
Hey. I got the sticker from a UK guy called Stuart Galloway. Mark highlighted to a few of us the absence of it on some of our se14r's so Stuart went ahead and designed and made some. Mark was referring to this pic from Chris pearsons celebration pictures If u were after one drop him a msg on FB Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Link to comment
synsei[501st]
:icon_bow: You're doing great Nick! All those armor pieces...I've printed exactly 2 pieces for my helmet. You're so close. Push through brother! 1 Link to comment
Woodo007[TX]
Thx synsei. Unfortunately big set back for me today. The mod I did to my shins is a no go for clearance. The wrap around piece I chopped needs to be attached to the outer part as per the crl. I did the mod on the advice of my armourer but the gml is not happy about it. Also I know this is how denis has been doing the shins for awhile and people in other countries have been cleared. Not in the UK tho. It also means all the other guys with the armoryshop shins that have this mod also cannot get cleared in the UK. This includes two guys who have received theirs finished from denis. Gutted is not the word. So back to square one on those. The mod made them almost bearable to get on and off and when worn and closed up I can't see who would notice (especially when painted gloss black). Not 100% sure on what I will do to sort them. 😬 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Link to comment
Woodo007[TX]
What I should probably add is that the gml is not wrong. It is screen accurate for the wrap around part to be part of the outer and not glued to the inner. It is also in the crl as this. It's just super annoying that this can be cleared by other garrisons Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Link to comment
nanotek[CMD-DWM]
I did notice the difference in your shins but didn't think it would be a problem as a lot of GML's aren't really paying attention to details and passing just about everything. Good on your GML for being thorough but yeah that really sucks. I got my shins from Dennis before he made the modifications so it was still Tom's original one. It's a little hard to get on and off. The key is to smooth out the inside so that it's like glass. Makes it easier! Gutted for you brohammer but also, you will have a better costume 1 Link to comment
synsei[501st]
All isn't lost, sir. You can use some wire mesh to create that wraparound piece. You can pick it up at your local auto parts store. Shape it the way you need it, them add either fiberglass mat or bondo glass on both sides (blending it with the surfaces). Woodo007[TX]
So after much discussion it became clear the mod I carried out to the shins did not fit the screen used armour or the crl. The wrap is indeed part of the outer side of the shin. I have now pulled them apart and started over. Happy with what I have managed to do It has also given me a chance to make the bottom of the wrap more accurate to screen used shin So my complete armour and helmet (apart from shins) has been sanded to 1000grit. Nearly paint time [emoji106] Redid my arm rockets so not as silver. More gunmetal now (pic is a bit deceptive). I have also redone all the buckles. Too much silver going on so I painted over them with matt Black and sanded to expose the silver underneath. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Link to comment
Woodo007[TX]
E11d electrics all in and really pleased (thx to Mark T[emoji16]). LEDs all run off a 9v battery in the hengstler. Switch also located in hengstler. Under barrel laser part controlled via a magnet in my glove and a reed switch located near the trigger. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 Link to comment

Woodo007[TX]
So a quick update. Doing a couple of reprints currently. Realised that when I first started my build and received my armour I did the resin coating on everything that other people had advised. Being a noob to it, I put it on heavy and messy. Now as I finish sanding some bits I realised I have lost some important details in certain areas. Namely the raised cover strips. I have managed to put them back in on the shins and biceps but the forearms were to far gone. Decided to reprint. They were a bit long anyways. They are done completely with filler and spray putty. Need to sand to 1000grit. Had to redo left arm greeblies also. The other big reprint is the ab plate. My files from Tom have a different size/design than the original one I got from armoryshop. Also having resined my original plate heavily the resin filled the important details in and I was really struggling to sort them so... reprint! Had to print in two parts to fit my print table size. Glued the two together and applied filler Glued plasticard across the joins from the back The front AB insert is currently printing. Will fit it tomorrow. Then filling/sanding/filling sanding etc etc Comparison shot of new and old Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Link to comment
nanotek[CMD-DWM]
Is it just me or does that new ab look weird? The older one seems to be correct to me? Link to comment
Woodo007[TX]
I think I know what u mean mate. It is different in places. The horizontal lines are deeper and more defined. Obviously it's taller but this will be covered by the chest plate. I think Tom found that once trooping the ab could come out from under the chest ( didn't u extend yours cos of that?). Will see how it looks once filled and sanded. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Link to comment
nanotek[CMD-DWM]
Yeah I extended mine by about 1.5 inches. Yeah some of the details are more chunky? Link to comment
Woodo007[TX]
Just looking at CE pics for reference. The insert part finished printing and I glued it on last night so will post pics with it in place Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Link to comment
Woodo007[TX]
Think the details may soften a bit more with filling and sanding etc. A better CE pic of the ab plate Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Link to comment
