fb501[TX]
Sorry to revive a dead thread but I got some information from the makers of the armour for the series. The armour wasn't even painted. It was fast cast black resin, they didn't have time to paint them as they were churning them out at a high speed, just painted the details and used hycote matt black spraypaint to touch up damage. Probably explains all the weird lighting reflections etc 3 2 Link to comment

Detaleader[501st]
A new detail I spotted: You can see in the new behind the scenes clip, that the very first hole in the barrel shroud is shaped differently, as if it were to accommodate the hook of a Sterling stock. The stock is of course shorter (or the barrel longer in this case). The two blasters on the top of this pile seem to be "hero" blasters. They have holes in the barrel shroud. The blaster on the bottom right appears to be a stunt casting of sort. The holes are only hinted at. You can also see the front sling loop being present on only 1/4 guns. Imo this should lean towards making that sling loop an optional piece. Link to comment

Bapty who were dishing out the blasters on set showed us a few of them when we had a rain break. the functioned and had recoil etc in some of them to be more realistic. id wager if there is an airsoft model out there with that different shaped hole that would be why 2 Link to comment

Considering that the originals aren't painted, but rather just cast in flat black, I'd hold off until adjustments are made (or just go for a black paint outright) 2 Link to comment

Blackwatch[CMD-DCA]
I tried using that Montana Gold color "stealth" it was mentioned early on last year. I find it to be just a bit on the semigloss side, more matt than semigloss, but at least my can was not a true matte finish. I truly appreciate a spray can finish that can give me a proper MATTE finish. 1 Link to comment
TreeHuggerMatt
Was there anything sorted re what the sling would need to be or is it just like a 1" black webbing with a slider and run through the sling points? Link to comment
TreeHuggerMatt
looks like 1” webbing run through the rear sling point and then through the tri-glide if I have it right? watching the eye again just now and the armour definitely matte black. and the rank stripe on the bell looks gloss too and bottom and white in middle. Can distinguish but not easily Link to comment
