BrutalMaz
Hi there, my name is Chris and Im local to GA and Im familiar with a few of the GA501st People as I am currently an Official member of the Mando mercs Club with 2 kits. With that being said I wanted to try something with 501st and Del Meeko caught my eye. I already 3d Printed the helmet and Im working on aquiring the other armor pieces to 3D print as its something Im very comfortable with finishing/sizing etc etc. Im currently trying to find the best file for the Chest and Thermal Detonator. Thank 1 Link to comment
tipperaryred[CMD-DCA]
It would be great to have you join us Chris, and Del Meeko is a great choice, even if I'm a little biased myself 😉 I wouldn't know of any specific STL files for those parts, but if you find any and would like a second opinion on their accuracy, don't hesitate to throw them up here. Wishing you the best of luck with your build! Link to comment
BrutalMaz
I feel like Im kind of swinging into the dark with STLS but it is what it is haha. I have found this chest/back and I feel like with proper scaling it will be approvable the belt however will not. https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-models/art/other/star-wars-swbf2-inferno-squad-inferno-squad-armour Im currently printing the Thermal Detonator from the scout kit and its very detailed. and this file set has the over belt/drop box, the chest doesnt look correct so I wont mess with it. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1255183371/star-wars-squadrons-assault-tie-pilot?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=inferno+squad&ref=sr_gallery-1-3&dd=1&content_source=baf6ac8eb5b6126f0c2bd780afcce0fd9d45abe4%3A1255183371&search_preloaded_img=1&organic_search_click=1 Link to comment
Blackwatch[CMD-DCA]
HI Chris welcome, im elbows deep in my own Del, and I wrote the CRL. So, with an Iden here who has literally BEGGED me to be her Del, I guess "were getting a Del!" I got Pilotbays new armor molds so I dont have anything printed for this build other than the special buckle half for the tacvest. Im not sure what Im looking at with that first link. That is Mudtrooper/ ICAT/ Security trooper style armor with a box setup on the back like we see on all those mentioned costumes. The actual chest for Del is modified TX armor like our shadowtroopers wear, but sligttly differnt, Looking at the armor over on Cgtrader the typical Tk belt is hask / iden style not Del. The scout style belt Del uses is smaller than a typical scout belt and the end boxes are a different shape. A standard Scout belt may be used for basic approval, but the smaller, specific belt is needed for L2. The Etsy file doesnt look too bad for the belt, but the boxes are very tall. Id be temped to print them at reduced hieght, slice off te belt part and bond it all to a new abs "belt" that way you have the hieght. The drop box is smaller than normal, and it has a bit curved cutout at the top edg, and is backed/ closed up but you can do that with sign plastic the helmet is smallre and rounder. its a specific shape. A R1 style TIE helmet will suffice for basic approval and we wrote the CRL that way but the game helmet is small. Im a TIE, have been since day 1 and Im also an ATAT driver, (same helmet) and they are huge. this new helmet I got is so tight it tears my ears off and my eyelashes touch the lens, so per the game model its a small helmet. For me, the last few weeks have been a suit search. Per the CRL and per all the references we worked from writing the CRL the suit is stiff and heavy cotton canvas with the nubs in the weave. The closest canvas I have found that meets this is heavy sail canvas , like the stuff Rothco uses for those parachute bags or for old military vintage tool/ gun cleaning bags. I ordered a Jim Tripon siut last night, and i asked for special mods in the suit to shoot for L2 approval. ill review it once I get it. Today I held my freinds Iden suit from Wampawear, and its soft, light and has a very soft drape and hand- definitely not the heavy structured suit we would look for for Level 2 approval. I have not seen/held a Crowprops suit or HerotecX suit so I cant comment. I am working on updating the Del vendor list and have already made some changes to it. It had been a few years and an update was due. Im looking forward to your progress! 1 1 Link to comment
tipperaryred[CMD-DCA]
⬆️ What he said 🙂 One other small addition, you mentioned you were printing a detonator from Scout files? Please be aware that the regular biker scout detonator is slightly different from Del's, so might need some alterations to be clearable. Great to see you diving into it though, keep up the great work. 1 Link to comment
BrutalMaz
The Etsy link has a belt file that looks very similar to the Del belt as I noticed he uses a different one. The CGTrader file set I wont be using that belt just the Chest armor as it looks like its a closer match to Dels Link to comment

Im thinking of trying to Print it in TPU or Flexible Filament. However I also have the Mr poopy file set is that acceptable also? I may still try a more flexible filament on that Link to comment
Blackwatch[CMD-DCA]
a regular scout belt is approvable at the l1 level for basic approval per the crl There are some differences in the overbelt especially those end boxes. And the whole thing is overall smaller than a regular scout i have the gameplay pulled up on youtube right now watching it. Over Belt The Over Belt consists of 5 gloss black boxes made of ABS or similar plastic, mounted to a leather or leather like waist strap which closes under the thermal detonator. The waist strap is approximately 1.5" (40mm) wide. The over belt is worn around the under belt, so that the top third of the under belt shows above the over-belt. There are special-shaped boxes on left and right of the 3 central boxes which are horizontal in position as seen in reference photos. A total of 8 rivets are present with 2 rivets mounted vertically on the left and right at the edge of the special-shaped boxes. Hanging from the right side of the belt is a hip box made out of hard material. This is connected to the belt by 1.5" (40mm) wide black leather or leather-like straps. The strap is and as long as necessary to allow the box to hang on the wearers right hip. For basic L1 approval a standard Scout style hip box may be approved. The strap is attached to the front of the over-belt through a slot on the right side of the central box. The back end of the strap goes behind the under-belt, to the left side of the thermal detonator. The hip box strap has 1.5" (40mm) quick release buckles on the front and back. Each buckle is attached at the mid point of the strap. Link to comment

The outermost boxes on each side are also a different shape to the Scout's overbelt. Link to comment
