I'll share the first new updated print off of the Del buckle STL. Two coats of primer and some paint and this will be ready to mount. I didnt get a pic of the four square openings on the bottom but they are square and look correct per the game model.

DLT 19 printing is in progress on my bambu printer and I just ordered a E11 holster from Darmans Props

some work before the freeze sets in. I got my pipes set and sanded the hell out of this print and welded the parts of the forward scope assmbly together. Its at the final putty round now, heavy application to make it "rounder".

the DLT 19 is printed and Im working it over. im not going to flood the topic with pics, but its a DLT19X, nothing we havent seen before. 

Helmet and armor are still sitting in my box ready to go. I got a 3 pound bag of leather last night at HL so I can make the real leather straps for L2 approval. I got this big bag of mostly black leather thats perfect for the tac rig straps, for the princely sum of 6 ducats.

Flightsuit is from Jim Tripon in the Phillipines. i got a few minutes to try it on and run around the house before I had to leave.  Its heavier than the Wampa Wear suit, which is a lighter weight canvas. 

Id love to get some feedback on the appearance of the suit since I am looking to go to L2 Specialist approval. I know its missing the padded shoulders, Ill have to get me some and velcro them in.  The fabric IS heavier, and I dont feel that the material wrinkles/ scrunches nearly as bad as the WampaWear suit. I believe the window for the commpad is large. It is supposed to show the entire commpad through the window, unlike most TIE pilots where part of the commpad is typically hidden.

The overall construction looks fine to me.  Could you show some details on the left sleeve there?  Specifically the compad pocket that you mentioned, and the top pocket with the pen sleeves?

Yes, Ill take care of that tonight and get pics. I got in it, wore it a bit and got out and left the house. It felt good. I spoke with Jim last night and he said he does not wash the suits/fabric so it "might" shrink some and Im ok with that. 

I specifically asked for no waistband elastic so we do not run into the scrunching issue we have on the back of lighter weigth suits , where we see the fabric scrunched together. 

 

Further research questions:

Tac Vest

The L2 spec is for a leather strap for the vest and I have that big bag of cowhide scraps. I have smooth and textured. 

Looking at our CRL research this appears textured to me, so I plan to use the textured leather for the straps. I will need to join some of them together to make the straps and the overstrap but six dollars for a bag of scraps is a lot better than 60 plus dollars for a hide that might or might not work. 

Commpad 

I have the file printed out out for the commad, but to be honest that file is a pain to asssemble and ive had them crack in half becase of how its designed. Im strongly considering modding one of my other Commpads. I print them all the time and its not THAT different however the size is specified in the CRL so I would just need to adjust that.

today I started building up the tactical vest. Its not much, just a rectangle and some pouches added but it did take a few hours to get it all done. 

 

The leather straps are next after I mount the patches.

I tested the armor and this is a new one on me. i've never fitted rubber bridges, no one here has rubber bridges other than our Iden and hers are a mess. I need to fix them. 

Anyway, i gret that the wedge goes inside the raised receptacle and can mount in there with heavy magnets.  

But the strap is a good 10 inches long. How do I get it into the back and keep it there? Make the hole bigger? Im afraid that will crack out the plastic and ive seen that happen (our iden is very badly cracked out from shoving the strap in the hole).

Should I shave the rubber bumps down, once I have my nylon understrapping in place, so that the front is mounted and the back will either slip fit or magnet mount into the back? 

Ill check out the mudtrooper builds too to see what they do.  

I modded the nice leather holster I got from Darhmans Props to match the Game reference images in the CRL update discussion. 

 

this is with the ends stuffed into the receptacles, see how far down it hangs way off my shoulders. 

 

Regarding the Jim Tripon suit-

Half our Garrison is a Pilot of one type or another. Half our Garrison uses Wampawear flightsuit.

When each person pulled out my Jim Tripon canvas suit the reaction was the same from each. I had each person pull it out of the bag and feel it. 

"HOLY HELL" NO F'n way!!

Look, ive been wearing suits from MonCal Loann$tarr Wampa and my own 20+ coverall conversions since 2008. NOTHING comes close to this. It will almost stand up in a corner on its own. I could feel it almost supporting me as I stood there. It comes with little shoulder pads already put in but one of my Flight Black Widows HowlingMad (Murdock, yes thats her callsign!) pulled 1980s vintage shoulderpads out of one of her old sweaters and we put them in my suit.

note the lack of bunching/scrunching commonly seen on the WampaWear suit which is considerably lighter in weight and has a back elastic. I had Jim remove the back elastic in the first place. I find no difference in wearabiilty and frankly they can be removed from all suits.

In my experience with the straps, they either come as you have as straight straps or they come with the wedge connectors already molded into them. The ones with them molded on allow you to attach them via Velcro or magnets. For yours, I'd probably just trim them down since they are feeding into the back armor and that'd fix the floating issue you have.

Ok thanks Ryan I wanted to get feedback on that before I went and did it. Im going for L2 and I may have wrote the darn thing, but ive never actualluy seen one of the and like I said our Idens is a velcroe'd mess. 

Any feedback regarding the Tripon suit? 

 

Second question

Do we have a really good pic of the greeblie on the back of the thermal? its game specific and I cant sort out much from looking at the game images.
