Del Meeko Belt for Ridiculously Tiny People

Recommended Posts

Hey all! I need some advice.

I'm working on a Del Meeko build and have run into a snag involving the belt. I know the two "scout" patches are to go on either side of the thermal detonator, but looking at my existing setup on my Biker Scout... I have all of like an inch of room between the ends of the belt and the detonator.

I can maybe gain an inch of space if I drop the belt further down my hips, and a bit more if I cut the detonator down a bit, but short of custom making my own belt (which I would rather not 3D print one) I'm not quite sure what to do in this instance. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Reference picture, my old Scout submission photo showing the complete lack of space.

That is a tricky one! I can however think of one possible solution that might satisfy the text of the CRL.

The scout pouches can either be attached to the overbelt *or* to the rear strap of the chest rig (which usually sits a couple of inches above the overbelt).

If you attach your pouches to the chest rig strap, this might let you position them either side of the detonator (as required by the CRL), but hanging down *over* the ends of the overbelt (instead of hanging between the detonator and belt, where you don't have the space!).  This isn't *technically* how Del wears them, but neither is it specifically prohibited in the CRL text.

Given that your only other solution would be to source a drastically undersized belt and/or an undersized detonator, I think this would be a fair compromise. However please reach out to your local GML to chat about this and see if they would be happy to clear the costume like this.

If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to let me know. Good luck!

Generally, you can do whatever is necessary to maintain proper proportions and still be good (as long as all the other detail requirements are met). What @tipperaryred said is sound advice to tag in your GML into your plans as they will ultimately be the ones approving it. We can provide guidance to all along the way :)

Nichole im building my Del as well but im the opposte Im bigger than most.  So Im going to be watching your progress. I wrote the CRL so Id say Im familar. Keep in mind that the scout pouches used are not normal sized. Everything about these game costumes is SMALL .the helmet I got from Pilobay is his new mold and it tears my ears off and my eyelashes touch the lenses. The armor, belt, boxes, drop box, all of it is custom for the game. As so are the pouches:

If it werer me, I would make smaller pouches based on your frame. I wrote this specifically for people who are smaller than others.  These sizes are maximums, Id be going smaller than that. Ive made a LOT of pouches, they arent bad once you make the first one and figure out how to sew them inside out.

Attend!-

Scout Style Pouches

  • Two "scout" style pouches are made of black matte canvas or canvas-like material.
  • The "scout" style pouches are filled to appear full and worn at the back of the belt.
  • The pouches will leave sufficient room for the Thermal Detonator mounted between them.
  • Pouches may be hung from the tactical vest waist strap, or from the over-belt strap, at the wearers choice.
  • Pouches are a maximum of 6" tall x 5" wide x 2" deep (152mm tall x 127mm wide and 51mm deep). The lower edge of the flap will not be wider than 2.5" (63mm).
  • Pouches are proportional to the size of the wearer and match in-game references.

OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
  • Scout style pouches match in game references.
  • Bottom edge of the pouch flap is less than half the overall width of the pouch.
  • Pouch outer flap has a stitch set back 5/16" (8mm) from the edge.
