Juice Box's Del Meeko Build

Recommended Posts

SUBMISSION PROGRESS: SUBMITTED

Hello spec ops! After a few years of searching to get everything together, I have an almost complete Del kit. Future posts will follow up on exactly what I have and what I need. I also have an approved Iden and previously had a Hask before trading the bandolier and have since ordered a replacement. Anyway, here's what I've got so far.

Helmet: Intergalactic Supply (HAVE)

Balaclava: Amazon (HAVE

Flightsuit: Wampa Wear (HAVE)

Compad: Wampa Wear/Philo props. (Trying to get the philo one to fit, but it's a little small.) (HAVE)

Gloves: Wampa Wear (HAVE

Armor: Jinta Props (HAVE)

Vest: Jim Tripon (HAVE)

Mp-40 Pouches: Ebay UK (HAVE)

Officer belt: Wampa Wear (HAVE

Scout belt: Intergalactic Supply (HAVE)

Scout Pouches: Mon Cal (HAVE)

Thermal Detonator: Intergalactic Supply (HAVE)

Holster: Darman's Props (HAVE)

Boots: Keep Trooping (HAVE)

I plan to make individual posts further on for each item.

Currently I'm struggling on how to mount the Mp-40 pouches and scout pouches. The back flap of the scout pouches isn't sewn into the rest of the pouch so I might look into that for securing it to the belt. We also have a Del in our garrison I think I can reach out to for help. If anyone here has pics of how those are mounted on their kits that would be extremely helpful.

I don't have any pictures on me at the moment, but I filled one of the MP40 mag pouches and the outside oiler pouch with a small piece of wood cut to size.  I had previously screwed in a large magnet to each of those two pieces of wood.  When I'm putting on my flight suit, I simply hold the pouch in place on my shoulder and then place two magnets inside my sleeve to trap the pouch in place.  It's not an ideal solution, but it works.

Thank you! I'm debating between magnets or velcro or some other solution. I think I need to suit up and then go from there.

i got hard drive magnets to use on mine. ive been using typical nDb magnets for years but hard drive magets are shockingly strong. I like Daniels block of wood idea.  Ive yet to sort that outmyself, im not QUITE there yet, i have the parts and the magnets but havent had a chance to work on it.

One more thing, I'm curious about how I'm supposed to mount the pouches to the belt. Here's what I've got. It looks like there shouldn't be a visible strap *above* the pouch. I'm pretty sure I understand how to do it (sew the flap to the pouch, then use velcro after looping it over the belt to hold it in place) but I would like some imput from a cleared Del if possible. (excuse the excessive amount of dog fur, it was accidently living on the floor for a few days) ALSO ALSO this is the BACK side, it's just a flat flap not the angled outward facing one.

There are currently two approvable approaches.

1)  You can attach the lower half of the pouch to the overbelt, either by threaded it through a loop in the back of the pouch, or by using velcro, or a combination of both (as you note above).

2)  Or you can attach the upper half of the pouch to the waist strap that run around the back of the tactical vest.  Again, you can use a loop, velcro, or a combination of both.  Personally I prefer this method as it lets the pouch hang down naturally - it is less likely to twist around.  However it is perfectly possible to make either approach work.

Small update, I had 4 items of feedback.

1: Pillbox should be all black. I was able to paint the small part that was not black. Just an oversight by me.

2: Shoulder pouch needs to have no white stitching and no unfinished edges. I had already done the stitching but didn't know I couldn't have unfinished edges. This has been fixed as well.

3: Need to verify vocoder is a separate piece. Took a few extra pics to show this

4: Need to verify the small round dimple on the right side of the backplate. Took a few extra pics to show this as well.

Overall the fixes I needed were minor, so I should get my official approval any day now!

very good and im glad its all minor fixes. Im still waiting for Jim Tripon to get my det and my vest to me. Then I can suit up for pics.

You will need to get fabric and print the buckles and rectangles for the pouches. Someone on here posted the buckle awhile ago and the rectangles I modeled myself in tinkercad in about 5 minutes. The fabric I took from a very cheap drawstring back I got with my garment bag that just happened to match the fabric used on the vest. I'd ask Jim if he could include some extra fabric to wrap around the boxes. I'd also be willing to send you the files I used for the vest fillers and whatnot.
