  1. I mean find someone here you can send a bunch of kits out to sell here. Dvh did that with blasters and dday handled the euro delivery. So do a chef stateside delivery And we need more female troopers. Preferably single, my age, and in my city
  2. i used the afx shield in my motorcycle helmet, but in the TX bucket it was too stiff to hold an even curve around both eyes to from the outside it reflected off the eye area on itsself so it appeared one eye was bigger than the other. then again i didnt cut the eyes when it was built. i ended up getting trooperbay's mirrored acetate for 5 bucks. its flimsy, but if you do it right looks much better, nice and even eyes. its also easier to see out of AND you get enough for 2-4 helmets.
  3. You need a stateside distributor chef.
  4. ill accept your nominations for trooper of the month oh goodness.
  5. ive been wanting to get a scout helmet
  6. You guys really love my tutorials. This topic should be called "how to move your sexy plastic bod so you don't traumatize little kids and freak old people the F out". But I digress. It's come to my attention that troops are just standing around, literally. One does not simply wait in front of the backdrop for people to come up and take pictures, the only exception being if there's a large "circle" of people, meaning the crowd is moving like in an airport or a mall and they just want to snap a selfie and move along. But in most cases your garrison/squad will have the booth set up in what I call an "open" photo op. This is where people are free to move about and there isn't a set route such as conventions. At my squad's cons, we're placed near the convention center entrance so we make a good opening impression, but away from the main vendors as not to "take away" from artists and shopkeepers. Sure people want the perfect picture of them with a few troopers or vader at the death star but it's important to keep in mind you aren't just a trooper. You are a mascot, a representative of the LEGION, not the empire. Remember the whole "bad guys doing good" motto? Troops are a group effort people, don't just stand around, interact! With the baby-to-toddlers group, they don't know what you are or what you might do. I give a friendly "palm straight, fingers moving" wave, or a quick "hand twisting side to side" wave and tilt my head to appear nonthreatening in a cartoony way. Older kids between 6-10 who generally may know of star wars, might look at you unsure of if theyre supposed to go up to you or not. Often the parents will coax them into getting close for a picture. This part is imperative. Before they shy away (or run up in glee), bend over slightly and nod your head yes, or wave them "come on over" to let them know "I acknowledge you". I then will look down and put my palm out to say "I want you to stand here" and get into either standing or battle position towards the camera. It helps to be able to read the kids by their facial expressions. Theres the general omg a star wars guy grin, and theres the parent-forced smile. For single kids, if I deem them worthy, I might have them hold my blaster for the shot, with one hand on my belt and the other on the kids shoulder. This really impresses people and shudders away all thoughts of you being "a bad guy". I warn, don't do this for everyone, but when done 99% of them give you your blaster back immediately. The other 1% either don't know what to do next or just want to see the picture first. For multiple-child shots, I always aim my blaster at the camera, this is because having it down you might not be able to see your actually aiming right at the dome of a little girl. You don't want to single anyone out. And again NEVER AIM YOUR BLASTER AT A CHILD. For troops that have a no-blasters policy, just hold onto your belt with both hands like vader for multi-kid shots, or one hand on the child's shoulder with your other hand on your belt for single child shots. For everyone else (ages 12 to 112) it's strictly professional, NOW you can just stand there and wait for the hotties to make their latest facebook picture. Occasionally from adults you may get odd requests. I was asked if a guy could hug me.. Anyway, perfect example: You might get "pretend you just captured me guy" which is a simple everyone aim blasters with his hands up, or if solo, I make him kneel, arms above his head, one hand on his shoulder, and blaster pointed to his head. There's a certain point where it's obvious if you're just blatantly aiming at everyone, but don't do that. The spectators or "next in line" people don't want to see repetition. Here's some other helpful tips: Never do anything you aren't comfortable with. Almost all people ASK you to get a picture out of human nature. They'll ask those odd things I mentioned too. That may include "can I kiss you" which has happened to a trooper who was single, and he specified "helmet on, or off?" But be careful with stuff like that. Never let adults hold your blaster. Not because they could run off or drop it, but it just makes for a bad picture. If you let a child hold your blaster, make sure they hold it properly before letting go. One or two have tried to hold it like a pistol then realize how heavy it is, before I let go I make sure there's two hands. If said child drops your blaster, motion to them that's it's okay. Their first reaction will be "OH F**K" and seeing as how you're pretty much an angry god in their eyes, you don't want them to freak out. Hopefully them being so close to the ground your blaster wont be damaged but if that's the case, ask a handler to get the parts. Dont take off your helmet unless you're in a private area, bathroom, or in back of the backdrop. Being helmetless is as bad as being naked. It takes the "real live stormtrooper" fantasy away. After someone gets their picture with you, offer up a high five. It's the universal bro-fist.
  7. When the white troopers are on break i'm "new/latest/regular stormtrooper", "pilot with armor", and vader when the real vader is on break. So i try to stand next to vader and other troopers as often add I can so people see the difference. Civilians... The best part is when the kid in the foam clone costume asks what "that" is, the middle age moms always go "mommy only knows the ones from the 70s".
  8. This http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/24896-easily-install-screenmesh-in-mic-tips/ Might not need it since ata screens are pre cut but I like the look of a pressed mesh Also your tube stripes are upside down. When viewed from the front, they should be frowny faces. There are no smiley faces in the empire. Except when the emperor thinks somethings funny before throwing lightning like he owns the place
  9. You should assemble the armor with e6, and fix the crack with abs paste not the other way around. I'd say just make everything LOOK right so you get approved, then worry about trooping durability when there's the means to make it happen. There's so much hidden stuff awaiting in the 501 only areas
  10. Why couldn't you have just gone black like the rest of us You could probably just find cheap white replacements and paint them. The heat gun helps a lot to alleviate stress in the bends.
  11. 501st aims for the "right off the screen look", you nailed it
  12. What armor you have? I just cut along the ab's bottom curved edge, but if you cut straight across like pandatrooper did you can mount the belt on the excess side parts that remain. Its hard to explain
  13. It could be idealized, the graphics engine of that time wasn't capable of producing reflections. It also was in 32 bit color palate same as gta San Andreas, which is why all the red cars were pastel maroon and deep reds, the medic probably wasn't "supposed" to be "pink". Further proof of a games inability to process correct textures is the shadowtrooper. The xbox version of tfu has chrome armor but the less detailed Wii version was matte silver and dark grey. if they remade swg with updated hd graphics, silver novas would be metallic silver/blurred chrome. I'm just suggesting an ideal version, same for the gold nova having mirror gold alternate to the matte dark yellow that was graphically limited in its time.
  14. so heres a rough translation of where i cut everything cod cut thinner for more walking room here on both sides then sanded smooth after battery pack is held on with small bolts. this makes it secure and i can tilt it up to "lock" into place or down slightly for the screen accurate 'shows a little bit of thigh bottom trim'. ill probably do the same with the knee as the metal can just be painted over. snaps on the boots. they are arranged in this fashion so the smooth caps dont rub the legs and straps could be added to connect to not shift around but i put elastic instead so it closes the tops and fits inside the notoriously too wide shins better quick test fit still left: -add 2 more straps to the butt sides -build td -belt sides -attach knee and strap shoulder bells to the bridges since they were taped on for the photo -make a way to secure the thighs. i was secretly holding them up by the straps in my hands. cant decide if i want to make garters or snap it to the ab. -shin back strips -ammo boxes
  15. Id cut an inch or so off the shoulder bell bottoms
  16. Why didn't you cut the butt tab off? I think I put the pic of how it should be cut right in my thread, but I have some more pics to post there that might help too that I haven't uploaded yet. And no Griff, the part about applying the glue with popsicle sticks was still valid.
  17. Next someone will tell you the AM butt plate isnt approvable if it doesn't hug your cheeks right.. The crl says "2-2.5 inches in diameter", giggity, I think the am td is right at 2.5, but I haven't assembled mine yet. Though the crl for a white stormtrooper td says 2-2.68 inches. Even then I don't think that matters.
  18. ohhh covering the belt.. now that makes sense. you got clamps/magnets right? i sand down the contact points for the glue with 80 grit sandpaper, then wipe the dust with a damp towel. but anywhere around 100 grit works. ive taken so long on my armor cuz ive been fitting everything just right and making many modifications. makes me wonder how much of a breeze a screen suit is since it was made to fit me. but the clean lines of am's are worth the extra effort.
