with my tutorial type stuff out of the way ive been finishing up my blaster finally. and i just put the last cover strip on the armor and ordered snaps. still left in no particular order: get snap setter, webbing, make snap plates trim shoulder bells after strapping is complete put foam in helmet make rear shin closing mod (still making sure i know what im doing before i epoxy) get a belt add snaps to boots so they fit in shins build the o2 can and make clips sand all the armor edges i cut attach shoulder straps black out ab buttons attach knee and thigh ammo pack (no rivets for specialist) order vinyl to convert into silver nova

Does he still do armor anymore? I thought he was just swimming in his room full of helmets like Scrooge mcduck

i did mine enough to get my hand through like reaching into a pringles can. do they even have those there? lol. you can always put some foam inside too so they dont spin

any choking with the pauldron? i hear sometimes theyre a little tight on the neck. they did used to be worn vertically as chest protectors in the 70s afterall

you dont even need primer with that stuff, i used it on my dash and door panels.

That should do. Make sure to sand the cuts well, I use a sanding drum on my dremel so to not scratch up boots or undersuit

Before I got my armor I just kept looking through build threads seeing what other people did then did it, but I had to do the torso a little different to fit my body type

I cut mine off (return edge, not length) cuz it would bite into my elbow. the most important thing is that the armor fits you right and is comfortable. the inside widths won't matter as long as the outside over lap is the right width. In my findings 4 out of 5 stormtroopers with overlaps say they should've gone the butt join method. Its more accurate, it looks better, and holds stronger provided there's inner strips as well

No the arms won't matter, you might get away with cutting the edge of the outer one so it matches the length of the inner.

The shins have to flex slightly when you put them on, so you could also make abs paste and glue some scraps underneath the lip for strength so the cracks don't get worse.

The cover strip method hides that better. your arms came from the same mold as everybody else

Look through my armor mod thread, should help you out. Use pandatroopers method except since your doing overlap, you would cut the inner forearm where the bump is inside the outer forearm. but put the inner OVER the outer first so you get it to the width of your arm, and mark there. You'll be cutting about an inch and a half off. In simple terms just cut back the inner on both sides a half inch at a time til it fits. Add for the cracks wait til the shins are assembled to deal with them. You can try the tshirt technique or just cut back on the return edges so there's no longer cracks

I forgot to mention I got the mesh from gazmosis on fisd. He's got loads of it. Much better than the woven steel that comes apart when you cut it. This stuff bends easy, he said its made for dioramas and modeling, to make mountains and hills

TORSO im 5' 9" 170lbs. the AM is meant for bigger than that. an ATA wouldve been perfect but i love symetrical clean idealized lines and apparently doing things the hard way using score and snap method on literally every trim. i used my best friend "8 dollar harbor freight heat gun" to bring in the sides of the butt, kidney, back, chest, torso, and belt. (no pic, its pretty self explanatory) CHEST to shape the bottom of the chest i made a mark where my rib cage ends, put the ab plate over as a stencil, and cut there i cut a bit off the neck to keep from choking me and a bit off the arm area for more flexibility so it looks like this now AB/COD omg always cut the cod. for your bathroom break sake and.. other.. stuff in that area. usually people cut straight across, but those edges dig into your thighs. i just used the ab bottom lip curve and cut there. i then cut an inch off the top of the cod to fit me. you cant really mess this part up since your belt will cover up your cuts anyway. BACK pretty self explanatory, cut the sides off to roughly match the shape of the screen armor... although i did heat and curve the shoulder areas downward. cutting the bottom of the back depends on your body and where the kidney sits. KIDNEY figure out which way is up by, well, its slightly shaped like an S when you look at it from the 'right' side. the inward curve should be on the bottom to aid in the small of the back and curves outward at the top. now line up the bottom with the bottom of the ab plate. the kidney should now be an inch and a half or so taller than the ab. i taped a line straight across and cut the kidney top off so the kidney and ab look connected and are the same size.

It always looks magical out of the box, then when there's a million finger prints, excess glue, tape marks... Oh goodness. and I hope you have a heat gun.

interesting they use the straps on the outside of the boots yet it still spins around. who makes their armor anyway?

how did you get the velcro onto the boot's leather? with the abs glue?

got some mirror acetate from trooperbay. this stuff is thin! but the good thing about my setup is the curve of the clone lenses help with the shape and reflection is costant, also i can slip them out if i want to go back to black. so simple!
