  1. http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=13151 I think this is it. Mostly talks about the interior but I can't find the topic with the main focus being painting. Hope it helps.
  2. Yeah Darth I think a couple coats of Automobile primer sanded from 800 to 2000 grit then use Rustoleum premium high gloss black and that should do the trick. I saw a good tutorial on a white bucket and used the method for my suit. Worked really well on my IG helmet too. I'll try to find the link on FISD Hope that helps
  3. Awesome. Thanks guys. I was in Vegas over the weekend and ran into a 405th member. His weathering was sweet and he used both the methods Iz and Gho5ty mentioned. When I get back into town it's back to work
  4. Thanks for the input guys. I was hoping you could offer suggestions on how to weather the silver. I'm thinking maybe some rust colored spots or a little carbon buildup on the barrel? I've owned a couple of stainless revolvers and they never really got dirty or damaged. My M4 and M16's were always taking dings and scratches to their flat blacked exterior so the sniper rifle was easy to visualize prior to weathering. Thanks again guys
  5. Whew long layoff due to getting ready for LegoLand Troop but I was able to get back on the horse about a week ago and here are the results. All she needs now is a Flight Vest/Neckseal and a helmet. Both items are currently being made, the helmet in the UK by none other than Saz and the Vest/Neckseal by Tforce Fabrications. The helmet is nearing completion while the Vest/Neckseal is totally up in the air due to an investigation into TForce Bleh!!! The pack also needs to be attached at some point. I'll probably attach it directly to the holster, but the attaching hardware will be concealed under the Pack. Oh and don't mind the Blue tape in the shoulder area. I left it over the velcro for attaching the armor as I will possibly be painting a dark purple logo on the backplate so I didn't want to have paint fouling up my velcro. Anywho check her out and we welcome any feedback.
  6. Kit looks great man. By the way those Ammo Pouches look pretty sweet
  7. Welcome to the Fold and Big Congrats Nova Bro
  8. Got the helmet padding in the mail. It's freakin' sweeeet. Got it from stormrider at TDH. He's thinking of doing a trooper pad kit so if anyone's interested let him know. His quality is second to none and really inexpensive considering the product Also finished the chest diamond
  9. Got some work done today. Gauntlets and knees painted and battle damaged. It's amazing what a Mando Sniper can do with a little AIM Knee damage is based on real life SWAT kneepads. I might dirty up the scratches with some charcoal or something, still debating. Right gaunt "Grappling hook" piece attached along with greeblies. Not sure what the piece will do yet. in the end may not be GH.
  10. Here's some WIP pics along with the diamond concept. The black portions will be raised. Here's a pic for fun You can almost see her IZZI
  11. Couple more WIP pics. Heres the gauntlets. Don't mind the weird yellow glue. THat was from the previous owner. I use E6000 much better adhesive. I will also be bolting on the hinges for extra support. Here's some of the greeblies, switches and such. And here's the painted shoulder and collar covers as well as the silvered knees. I'm gonna use toothpaste as I saw in another thread ( http://mercs.firespray.net/forum/index.php?topic=34740.45 ) for the weathering when I gloss black the knees and the gauntlets Here's the repaint on the Spotter Droid Here's the updated concept photos. The long pole thing on the side of the pack is the detachable barrel to the sniper rifle. All the light colored armor pieces will be the "smoke" style paint job.
  12. Glad to see our fearless leader back at it again
  13. I never liked History in School... But this is great stuff really interesting seeing the origins of a whole det
  14. Yeah she's a little internet shy that's all. I'm the same way and actually I need to pull my face picture of the forums due to occupational hazard. Don't worry though, in real life I'm one of the good guys But I think I can talk her into it at some point. Maybe for the big reveal when I send some approval pics to the Mercs. Either way IZ you'll get to see her face come 4th of July with and without a lid
  15. Quick pics before bed. Duct tape is a quick fix for fitting purposes. Once the vest finally arrives The armor will be affixed to it to hold the positioning in the front without any tape
  16. All right a little work has been done and a spotter droid has been found to help my Mando Sniper wifey in the swift/silent/deadly reduction of Rebel scum around the galaxy. Please forgive the droid's prissy appearance out of box. The matter is being dealt with as we speak
  17. Glossy ABS is so awesome. Looks good
  18. Flight suit came in today. Plus, I made the cape a few days ago but never got around to showcasing it. Happy viewing Hopefully I'll have the armor plates on this week but kid's have been sick so not much work done lately
