Sadly, I broke the fan blades off on accident. I will be replacing the fan at some point and maybe a working one based on taht input it would be pretty cool to add a touch

UXcell.com. ten bucks each for all clear plastic with brown handles. I just used silver spray paint and primer to finish em off. I'll shoot them and snap some pics they light up with a spinning light up cylinder and a blue (Bright) led in the scope. Great sound too.

All right got a little work done this evening and yesterday. Got the snaps on all armor parts and created the "monokini" strap system. Once I have good placement on the pieces I will install the female snap pieces to the strap system so all the armor will be mounted prior to even having the vest. Once I have the vest I will install either velcro or more snaps to directly connect the vest to the armor plates for placement fine-tuning when the suit is worn. I'm super excited because it's turning out like I envisioned at this point

Yeah it was definately a tough choice but what helped mostly is the fact that the pack was originally some type of toy gun/gauntlet so it has a large metal fist on the inside that cannot be seen. The hand fits into the small of the back of her armor plate very nicely when we used Izzi's suggestion plus the opening is now on top to carry her spotter droid so it works out a little better. Thanks for the input though I appreciate anyone who's interested enough in this project to read and especially to post on it.

A few updates... Finished the guns weathering and all. The rifle has a detachable barrel that will be attached to the backpack while carried and the base of the rifle will be slung over the right shoulder hanging under the right arm for quick access and concealed by the cape which we have decided will go over the right arm covering most of that side. I am also going to add a leather snap tab to her leather belt to hold the rifle in place under the arm for a quick release. The barrel will also have some type of quick release fabricated for it. The duel pistols will probably be carried on two drop holsters on the side and front of the left thigh since the rifle takes up so much area on the right but that is still yet to be determined. And all of the armor minus the back and collar have been primed

Armor is rough cut The collar armor still needs trimming once all the pieces are mounted and the center chest piece may be replaced with a flat piece vs. the shaped piece pictured Knees are primed and sanded Dual pistols are primed and rifle is flat blacked

After much deliberation we have decided to go with your suggestion Iz (Does your lid still fit? ) . I was reading in the merc forums that there is a specops det in mercs and a sniper merc needs a "spotter" which could be another person or a portable droid. So I will be installing a portable droid in the pocket that was originally on the bottom of the pack at the top. I'm hoping to make it foldable, poseable and possibly give it lights and sound. Plus it will keep the pack size small with just the one jet for quick bursts from danger rather than extended flight

Who knows, that leather could be what we've all been looking for. Good luck and it's great to see yet another Nova joining the Elite ranks

Oh yeah the cup at the top is going to be covered with a cone to become a missile similar to the Fett's. And we've decided the "jets" will be directly on the bottom of the pack instead of coming out the sides. I'll probably use two metal rings of some kind similar in shape to the cup that's currently on top Or she could just fly feet first

I've been officially approved. Much thanks to everyone on the SpecOps forums that has helped me along the way. I'm glad I could share my first adventure into trooping with all of you folks. There is a great group of peeps out here and not knocking on anyone else in the 501st but SpecOps really is the most inviting and understanding detachment in the 501st in my opinion. You guys and gals have all been great!!!! Here's to Spec Ops and most especially the Year of the Nova!!!! PS Hey Izzi I hope you have room for another Nova and probably a Merc come July Cause I'm Utah bound for sure

I was able to get a little done today. I put together the BFG but paint's still a little sticky so I'll wait a few days before I put on the flat black coat. I also put the first coat of primer on the knees. They already look sweet Oh and the "jetpack" came in. I took a photo of it in it's basic form and with a coffee creamer bottle that i will use a pair of for the "jets". Here's a pic on my wife for size reference. Tell me what you guys think. Should I even put the jets on? Since the pack sizes up pretty nice without them. I had the idea before I saw the pack on her back.

Updated the original drawings of the costume. due to the gloves and gaunt's needing to be changed. New version has a more slimlined ab plate as well as a side cape and duel pistols as well as new boots. The gaunt's are still up in the air until we find something she likes. Did some work today. Got the initial coat of metallic paint on the BFG pieces. Probably should have primered, but live and learn. It's an undercoat anyhow so we'll see how it goes with the flat black exterior coat in a few days. Also sanded and glued together the knees from IOA. Can't wait to start painting those so I can get a good idea of how the paint scheme for the rest of the armor will turn out. Here's a pic of the boots. They are my wife's old sportbike boots. Also a pic of the girth belt which was originally a large bra/tube top (not my wife's) and one of her belts which will be used in the costume.
