  1. You're welcome! If you get a build thread going then we can definitely help! Yeah I know that some kits actually come with the kidney and butt plate already fused. There is one Battlefront that allows for both ROTJ or ANH for basic and that is the Magma Trooper with MEPD. They did it to help with inclusion for people who had all kinds of different kits. For L2 you definitely have to have ROTJ style there though. They all look good! ?
  2. @Raider I agree on all of your points above, exactly what I was gonna say. I'd say we allow for either black or gray frowns. I think the black looks more fierce haha
  3. Michael, you mean previously they were in the specialist requirements? I checked the old thread for requirements for magma trooper and I'm not seeing that.
  4. Hey Mason, I'm not sure if there are any here who have done it but there are some more differences then it appears: Tube stripes on helmet are blue. Vocoder (chin) is silver, as you pointed out. Hand plates are more square with rounded edges. Chest has that white imperial cog/logo on the left breast. Chest has a black flexible U shaped gasket or molded lip around all edges. Back plate has a black flexible U shaped gasket or molded lip around all edges. Abdomen armor's button detail/plate is inverted (as opposed to the other shadow stormtrooper). Abdomen armor/cod piece has a black flexible U shaped gasket or molded lip around all edges. Kidney & posterior armor is fused together as one piece (if it isn't already) and has a black flexible U shaped gasket or molded lip around all edges. Belt canvas is 2 to 2.5" wide instead of the 3 to 3.5" wide of the regular shadow stormtrooper. Drop boxes are longer/skinnier than the regular shadow stormtrooper. It isn't anything really hard by any means. That U shaped gasket around the edges is just automotive 3M door seal. The only interesting part is redoing the belt to the narrower canvas, getting drop boxes that are longer/skinnier that matches the plastic of RS, and fusing the kidney and posterior armor parts.
  5. Very nice update! So many intricate details.
  6. Okay yeah now that I look back I think I was originally against the painted detonator clips because of the upkeep required to keep them black since they flex.
  7. I'd say for the detonator we'd probably want to keep it close to Rocket Trooper with a few additions/changes: Thermal detonator belt clips are positioned half way between center of detonator and the end cap. The detonator is attached to the canvas belt with 1" (25mm) black metal or metallic-appearing clips. I don't really see anything that we need to change for the belt from the L2 stuff we have above. I can't really compare it to the Rocket Trooper because we did a lot of funky things with that one based on the game images (i.e. longer belt boxes, skinnier plastic part, etc.) I also don't have any recommended changes for the thighs.
  8. The ANH Hero, Commander, Heavy Weapons Trooper, Incinerator and Shock troopers also have them. That was my justification in conjunction with the book details.
  9. Very nice on that last set of pics for the consistent weathering!
  10. I went off of what was on the TK's as their stuff was identical. In the book (I know it isn't a solid reference for costuming) they mentioned that they were just like regular stormtroopers, just black. That is at least what I remember from Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor.
  11. See my responses in the quotes. I'm going to look through it some more too.
  12. Excellent work on this Muddy and the variants! Welcome to Spec Ops!
  13. Got ya, let me know when we get the final stuff from the cleanup from you and I can run though again. Work has me so scatter brained I have to try and figure out where we left off.
  14. Here is what I have modifying from your original post: Optional Accessories Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present appear as described below. If adding in an accessory after initial, the item still needs to be submitted to local GML for approval before use. Black Pauldron • Must be black in color and made from vinyl, leather or leather like material. Must be worn over the right shoulder. Ammo Packs • Black MP40 style ammo packs made from leather or leather like material, one on each side, may be worn in place of drop boxes. • Flap buttons shall be silver in color. Shoulder Ammo Pack • Black MP40 style ammo pack made from leather or leather like material, secured on the upper left of the chest armor. • Flap buttons shall be silver in color. • If this shoulder ammo pack is worn it must be accompanied with the black pauldron and drop boxes on the belt. Belt cannot have pouches in lieu of drop boxes when the shoulder ammo pack is worn.
  15. Completely agree with that: If used must be accompanied with a black pauldron and drop boxes on the belt. Belt cannot have pouches in lieu of drop boxes.
  16. Well done! Helmet is easily one of the pieces that can be a pain in the butt. Once you get those ears over it it should be solid.
  17. Hmmmm not sure I even noticed that one on the other pics.
  18. Moving right on along! Congrats on the approval by the way!
  19. That's interesting, where's the curve?
  20. Awesome! Let us know how it goes and send some pics! ?
