Anybody seen any "creditable" info on the three cylinders on our armor left forearms? Some folks over on the DT Buidrs FB page are saying rockets or blaster, most are saying "code cylinders" LOL Lets form a research committee and then have a staff hearing/poll to determine what to put as the "official" function of these things other than catching on my E-11D sling.

Update: I went with a 2x2 Velcro loop patch sewn to the top of the boot spats and a 1.5x4 strip of Velcro hook on the inside from of the shins. Spent 4 hours in armor this past weekend and fitness app said 3.27 miles walked. Shins stayed aligned the whole day! Now on to another armor tweak. Thanks to everyone for your suggestion.
-
Ahhh prep work! That one step that when done correctly and patiently, yields the best result. Looking good Roger!
-
Excellent work Lance. I'm glad you tried my suggestion. Can't wait to see how the rest of your build turns out.
-
Well we strive for screen accuracy ... maybe I shouldn't be worried so much about shifting shins

You could start using plastic waste cans cut up LOL Do suppliers not ship to NZ?

Imperials Special Forces [Star Wars Battlefront 2]
Chaos replied to Darman's topic in Inferno Squad Del Meeko
Hey Steve, any more news on how the division will work? Battlefront 2 opens up a whole new realm of variants that Spec Ops should be involved in. -
Great news about the BBB shipping! So you used a bolt to attached to two males back to back on the leather ... even better. Thanks for the clarification. I just E6K'd mine and so far they are holding up. Think I'll go back and put a small bolt and nut on mine as well. Mahalo!

Loving the concept and execution. Any more modifications/updates to this? I agree that adding original TK details but scaled down to keep with the feminine theme would look awesome. Glad you went for classy not trashy with this FemTrooper.

Darth Emphatic's Shadowtrooper Build
Chaos replied to Darth Emphatic's topic in Shadowtrooper (Jedi Knight II)
Steve, came across this thread today. Haven't had a chance to really give it some thought but for shoulder bells and biceps maybe using a hinged point? Interested to see how this progresses. -
Going to do two troopings this weekend. I am going to try two of the above suggestions. I attached Velcro to the top of my spats and a piece in the front of the shin. I also made two foot stirrups to attached to the Velcro in the shins. I'll update which worked best for me so this thread can have some closure.

Did you get this issue fixed? I use the same stirrup system on my Shadow and now with my DT shins as well. Ingenious idea.

Thanks for the update ... sometimes no news is good news. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. -
Niels, have you figured out which kit you will go with?

Congrats Aston!

Mike, how goes your progress. There are quite a few folks who are buying the 850 armor. Any more modifications to the initial armor?
-
Mike did you ever find any Jared's in your size? Right now Zappos has the Talib size US 13 in stock. http://www.zappos.com/p/dr-martens-talib-black-brando/product/8563257/color/228668?ef_id=WR3gOAAAAl_OLcd4:20170623180343:s

How goes your build? Did you ever find boots that would work for you? Zappo's still has a women's size 7 in stock.
-
Man I was racking my brains out trying to figure out how to put a snap on the speed holster's upper strap, thanks for the photo. You used a female snap head to attach the female to the drop down piece didn't you?
-
Glad to see your build is still going. I have Jim's complete kit so you if have any issues/questions give me a shout. I may have come across the same issue. I did make a few modifications to my build after my first troop in it. I will troop this weekend so I will have a chance to see if my mods worked or if I will need to go back to the drawing board. Best of luck with your build.

I would trim them to touch. Nice thing about Jim's armor is that it is designed so that you can trim areas to fit your body size. I would figure out how much you need to loose between the front and back and remove 50% of same amount from each piece (front/back) this will keep the seam centered over your shoulders. When you do that, you will also need to trim the shoulder straps. Be sure to fit the pieces with the under suit on. It does add some bulk to your upper torso. Collar tusks are there for alignment and the length I would imagine doesn't matter as long as it does not extend past the front piece so that its appearance is that of an elephant. As far as the shoulder and side buckles. I attached them with two screws designed for plastic from the back. predrill a starter hole the depth of the screw, fill the hole with E6K and use at least a 1/4-1/2 inch washer under the screw head. Just make sure you use a short screw and predrill, if not you run the risk of splitting. The triangular buckle piece is the weak link. I beefed up mine by taking a thin piece of sheet metal, traced the outline, cut it out, and epoxy bonded it to the underside of the triangle buckle. This will prevent the buckle for being broken if it somehow gets pushed down during transport. Good luck with the build.
