Congratulations Lance. Your build looks great!

I may have missed it, but whose kit did you go with?

Just an update which I have been meaning to do for a while but a post on a FB page reminded me I needed to make a correction. Originally I placed the rig's upper corners attaching straps straight out from the sides when in actuality they extend from the top of the rig. I have made adjustments to the pattern guide which will make the rig more screen accurate. My apologies, hope this helps future makers. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Welcome to Spec Ops Kerry and best of luck with your build. There are a few good kits out there. Check the build threads to see what others used and how they went about getting approved. Choose a kit based upon your build and capabilities. Shop around for your accessories as well, price ranges vary but with a little research you can find accurate pieces at better prices. If you have any doubts about a source or item post it up here and we can let you know if its suitable.

Your Garrison GML, whom you submitted your photos to, should be able to give you an update on your approval. Once approved, then yes you would just add TX to your 501st Legion ID number. What voice amp system did you go with? Photos?

I am starting to see these files being used in more sound systems. I am pleased that these files are useful to the community.

Welcome Nathan! You chose wisely by making the Death Trooper. Nick's advice is spot on. 3D printing is a great way to go to get your armor sized to your body's build. Tom and the many others who have done 3D can help you in modifying the files to suit you. I went with Jim Tripon's complete kit so it included the under suit and specialist parts. I did make my own chest rig and think it looks pretty damn close to being screen accurate without spending a fortune. I think total cost of materials was less than $50 and it took me about 10-12 man hours to make it. I did post up a pretty detailed DIY thread with patterns and links for parts. If you have minimum sewing skills you can do it or if you know some one who can, you will save yourself some money. The only thing I forgot was to include the grenade holder but I plan on adding that after the holidays. Link for DIY thread: http://forum.501stsp...mo-pouches-wip/ Best of luck on your build, go thru the threads, ask questions, be patient, take your time, and enjoy your build. The Death Trooper, even though we were short lived in the movie series, always attract people's attention at every event.

Most helmets come in kit form and require finishing. There are makers that sell completed kits; like Denis of The Armory Shop, but his cost it way over the $100 mark you are looking at. You might be able to find a Nissan Rogue DT helmet on E-bay, but they will be pricy as well. You could ask the makers if they have a B grade or jacked up cast that they could sell you but you still probably have to finish it. There is another option and I will probably be beat about the head and shoulders for saying this, but if all you want is a helmet close enough but no where near a quality piece just for autographs you could buy a made in China knockoff off Etsy or Ebay. I do not endorse these sellers or their products any only offer it as a cheap non accurate option.

Search this thread, there are 4-5 kits you can source. I used Jim Tripon's kit. He has a build thread as well.

Death trooper voice changer
Chaos replied to Jusmoy's topic in Armor/Soft Parts and Where to Find Them
Currently there are no "voice changers" per say that change your voice to the scrambled DT audio out there. There are several voice amplifier set ups that people are using. The two that I know of right off hand are UKSWRATH's and TRamp's (links below) I use UKSWRATH's and am very pleased with it. UKSWRTH's: There are some videos in this thread which give a good example of how well it works. I love this kit!!!!! http://forum.501stsp...r-audio-system/ TRamp's: https://www.facebook...985337278172951 -
I have Jim's kit. I did all my trimming etc., before I sanded anything. I sanded in this order: 80, 120, 200. Tack clothed, then primed with three light coats of rustoleum spray filler. Wet Sanded 400, 600, 800. Tack clothed and wiped down with isopropyl alcohol. Painted with three light coats of rustoleum 2X Pro gloss black. Then wet sanded with 800, 1000, 1500. I then used Mequiar's Ultimate Compound to buff shine the paint, followed with their ultimate polish to add a little extra shine. If you plan on any weathering, do it before you polish. Note: If there are any deep imperfections, fill with Bondo before your first sanding.

Death Trooper (Rogue One) Weapons and Gear
Chaos replied to superlaser5's topic in Armor/Soft Parts and Where to Find Them
I got my SE-14, E-11D, and Grenades from Jerry Budde (look in the Facebook Death Troopers (Build Group) pages. He 3D prints them, they needed very little sanding, and he sell for less than most. Here are some links to see the results: SE-14R: https://imgur.com/a/1XQlB E-11D: https://imgur.com/7GpSUIk If you are handy with a sewing machine or know someone who is, I posted a chest rig DIY here on the Spec Ops forum in the Death Trooper section. http://forum.501stsp...mo-pouches-wip/ Best of luck with your build. -
You're going to love it! Thank you

Shadow Stormtrooper Build for the Vertically Challenged

LOL .... I'm digging the Java Trooper bucket, but to qualify as a Shadow, you're going to have to paint it black! -
Ukswrath's Anovos Shadow Stormtrooper Build
Chaos replied to ukswrath's topic in Shadow Stormtrooper
Just a hint on using sharpie pens, if you are concerned about ink residue, a dry erase marker ran across the sharpie ink removes the ink, then you just have to wipe the dry erase marker off with clean rag. -
I took the two audio files and increased the default playback volume by about 9 dbs, camera was at 12-15 feet from helmet. Tony's DT voice amp volume was at 3/4 to 4/5th and mp3 player volume was max at 30. The audio will definitely be able to be heard in outside or noisy venues. The above files links open the new files. Hope this helps.

We didn't have a handler to film while we were trooping so we did a short clip afterwards. The phone was about 6 feet away. It was loud enough for people to hear out in the store area. Everything worked perfect. I did have to glue a raised button on the player so I could press the play/pause with my gloves on. I think this system will be very popular. Nice job Tony! Discovered after we filmed, that the mp3 player volume was only at 20. The max volume is 30 so the DT audio could have been louder. Also I have no friggin idea why I said TK instead of TX. I did have only one cup of coffee that morning. Oh well it sucks getting old LOL

This thing is Badass! Going to get more video from tomorrows trooping Test video:

Got my voice amp and mp3 player from Tony (ukswrath) Time to get busy installing it in my helmet.

If you download the files and/or are planning to use them please let me know just so I can get an idea of how helpful this post has been. I will get my UKSWRATH DT helmet audio system from Tony hopefully this week and will post up a video of it in use at my next trooping. Mahalo in advance.

Congrats Roger!

Paint, Wet Sand, Wait, Paint, Wet sand, Wait, etc etc etc., Ahhhhh the joys of getting things shiney! You've put a lot of work into making the 850 set look much better! I've got Jim's complete kit. One word of advice about his undershirt, if you can, tailor it to fit you or use shirt stays (https://undershirtguy.com/shirt-stays/ ). The ribbing is so thick it has a tendency to bunch up under your sides. I made the modification and it stays perfect. Same thing with the bicep areas of the shirt, if the sleeve is not form fitting it will bunch out from under the bicep armor. Good luck with the build.

I have tweaked the files once again ( couple of things bothered me) What I did was make one that has various delays in between the audio clips that can be put on loop and played continuously. The second file I only put a 2 second delay between the audio clips for those that want to use the PLAY/PAUSE option to be able to interact with people using the DT audio. I am pleased with how they came out so I don't think I will be tweaking them anymore. We have discovered that iPhone users need to download the files and then play them via your Audio Player. Android users should be able to auto play them when clicked. I'm hoping Tony (UKSWRATH) gets his DT Helmet Audio System perfected soon so I can get rid of my pieced meal setup. I'm an Android guy so I can't help you with Apple stuff. Maybe Nick can help. I just clicked the links with the wife's iPhone and they opened right up in Safari
