Nick, thank you for verifying I hadn't messed something up.

They are mp3 files. Not sure why your iPhone can't play them. Try copying the link into your iTunes

Had a chance to work on some of the files. I have three now. Two have been tweaked and one is the original download of the audio unedited. EDITED: I deleted the two links, updated links are below in comment # 14 Unedited: https://www.dropbox....edited.mp3?dl=0 Pitch deepened with radio click 1 <deleted> Pitch deepened with radio click 2 <deleted> Tested the last one on a troop this weekend. I need to do some tweaking on my system set up. I might just have to get one of Tony's (ukswrath) FOTK set up to reduce the wires and have it all in the helmet.

Looking awesome Nick! Good to hear that the UKG might start allowing audio for your blasters. Next thing you know you'll be driving on the right hand side of the road!
-
Mike's comment is how most of us have painted our blasters. One thing to keep in mind is that when using multiple layers of paint, make sure you allow each layer plenty of time to cure. Especially if using different brands. I stuck with Rustoleum so the paints would be more compatible. If not then you run the chance of top layers bubbling or orange peeling. Good luck.

Im using an iPod with a wireless remote to play them through my voice amp.

Thanks to Tyler Wadman who posted on the Death Trooper's Build FB page a YouTube link to some Death Trooper audio files believed to be from Battlefront 2. I recorded them and tweaked them just a little, added a two second delay between the clips or Play/Pause. This is the first time I have used Drop Box. Let me know if the link doesn't work. EDITED: I deleted the initial link, updated links are below in comment # 14

Thanks Steve, I am a helicopter maintenance test pilot by day. I deal with details all day long, so in my off time its hard to break the habit. It drives my wife crazy!!!

Thanks Mark! Im pretty handy at figuring out ways to save where I can. LOL it allows me to spend for things I can't figure out. Anything to help out other DIYers

Opinion needed on current shadow trooper armouer.

Steve, that seam is probably a tape line where he had to mask and repaint a crack in the lid top that occurred in transit from HI to AUS. -

ALCON, Just so everyone is aware and in a show of transparency, This is what I sent to Adam in a PM in an effort to make things right. I don't want to be know as "One of those fly by night guys." In all honesty, I was brand new to this whole thing last year and my armor was approved by one of my previous GML's so I was sure everything was OK. I even trooped over 19 events in it. Photos of those events are posted in my Kill Count thread (1-19) I am active in the Spec Ops community and hope that it is apparent that I am not out to pull anything over on Adam. Maybe we as a community can help make Adam's path to his Shadow Trooper a straight and smooth one. Here is what I sent him: Adam, I can't tell you how frustrated I am with this whole thing. This kit was approved "as it is" by my previous GML, had he brought up the same issues as your GML did I would have made the necessary fixes. Like I said previously in his opinion it met the CRL requirements. That's why I listed it in my ad the way I did: "Sold “As Is†and "Even though it has been approved for 501st Basic Level CRL, it will have to be re-approved for the individual wearer." That being said I was thinking we have a few options: 1. I can refund your money and have you ship the entire kit back to me. You paid me $XXXXUSD ($XXX for the completed/painted armor + postage) and I refunded $XXX USD for the postage difference, so that would be a total of $XXXX USD ($XXX for the completed armor + $XXX postage) back to you. 2. We can locate the front & back pieces, helmet kit, and any other piece that can not be worked to your GML's standard within reason, I will refund the cost of those pieces to you. I would ask that you send me back the helmet with all the included electronics. Since my kit was painted with gloss black the replacement pieces can be any color and just painted to match the rest of the kit. Clint (Mightytank) is doing a kit run of his armor for $650 shipped in the US, he may be able to ship to AUS here is the link: http://forum.501stsp...ack-armor-kits/ Rocky (Krazytrooper) posted about WTF having parts etc as well. http://forum.501stsp...-shadowtrooper/ 3. You could try and find someone in AUS who doesn't care about 501st standards and is just looking for a Cosplay outfit and I would refund the difference. I do apologize that this has occurred. I was never out to try and pull anything over on you. Let me know what you wish to do. Chris -

It was my Shadow armor which was approved by my GML last year using the CRL. It was pieced together from various "approved makers" most parts were B grade which I spent many many hours improving and modifying to meet the current CRL specs. I trooped many troops over the past year in it. Photos posted over on my Kill Count post 1 thru 19. Now Adam is trying to get it approved by his GML and is having issues. -
Roger, are your forearms clam shelled or did you glue both edges together? If you clam shelled it you could do what I did for the forearm greeblies and put screws thru the inside of the forearm into the greeblies.
-
Almost there Roger! Looking great!
-
Couldn't he make the forearms a clamshell type closure and use Velcro to secure it? Just like the shins. Forearms must appear to be fully sealed and enclosed. Doesn't say must be fully sealed.
-
Looking good! Are you going to use some type of green filter for the tusk LEDs?

The thing with Jim's abdomen piece is that he made extra lateral pieces so that it would fit people with short or long torsos. Most photos from the movie show 4-7 horizontal notched ribs. In order to have them show or at least a majority of them , and have the belt not cover the lower circle indentation, most people adjust the cod to fit their crotch and then have the bet extend down over the cod. I have a short torso so I had to adjust how far down the cod the bottom part of my belt lays across. Unless you get armor made to your exact body dimensions, you'll have to accept minor differences here and there. -
Figured it out and used the following technique.
-
Nick you are correct! Duh! I went and looked back at my build notes for "Things To Do" and sure as s417 there it was in my own hand writing. "Attach pony tail holder back side with cable clamp and front with open ended "J" hook LOL
-
Looking good Roger

Anyone else having an issue with their bicep armor sliding out over the top of their undershirt. After a lot of waving and posing I found I needed to push the plates back up against my biceps. I went back and looked at some of the photos and it looks like they attached black elastic pony tail holders across the openings. Guess my issue isn't that isolated after all. Has anyone done this, if so, how did you attach them? Both ends fixed or one end fixed and the other a snap or Velcro?
-
I think it just needs "the" in front of "left forearm" and a period at the end to make it a complete sentence.
-
The heavy duty 2 inch elastic will hold up very well. The issue I had with a belt and nylon webbing was that it pulls and puts pressure on your thigh snap attachments. I used a heavy duty epoxy originally and the snaps pulled away. Probably the only way to limit the stress of pulling would be to move the snaps and straps to the side much like they did for the movie suits.
-
I used a belt and loop at first and moved to using suspenders now. I only use the two straps and placed the snaps on the upper inside front of the thighs. I have Jim's kit and it works good for me. Also strictly a personal preference but I would go with heavy duty elastic for the down straps. It flexes with your leg movements and pulls the thighs right back into place. Belt Suspenders

Chris, I think your question was answered. Currently the only "official trooping" weapons are listed in the CRL. If you go to a non-official event you can carry whatever you want. Until someone petitions/works on (this could be you) a change to the CRL with the required 3 references the current CRL applies. I get what you are saying about Spec Ops and various weapons, but when we troop "Official" events we must represent what the general public sees in movies, books, comics etc., the CRL was built based upon what was published at the time. Like it was mentioned earlier Battlefront 2 may provide more weapons for Shadow Troopers to use, but until the references are made and the CRL updated we are stuck with what we have.
