Anybody have any trimming tips for the ears? Been following trooper bay videos and panda props videos for most part but those blasted ears always seem to be a pain

Armor is here slowly starting to cut when it's not super hot

Trooperbay stuff came in; holster; belt had to dye it black didnt see any option for black but easy fix and the cleaning gloves which I feel like I probably overpaid for. Ive been spoiled with much nicer gloves in my First Order kits

Does anyone have examples of different colored details. Trying to make this decision for myself as well. Kinda like getting close and see all the details you'd see on the tks

Boots have arrived; see pic were best I could find at decent price point should be ok for level 1 Trooperbay items shipped; ordered a white belt but planning to dye it black. Ordered the ESB style holster as well Fingers crossed kit is here soonish and I can start cutting away

I'm horrible at these posts but my armor shipped from Walt, finally getting a kit done that I can join spec ops with after chasing special rainbow unicorn kits for years. Still need to source all the things, belt, holster, and boots guess I have some reading to do or just bug Torri

That dude is so hard headed. I don't get how he can't understand that Disney contracted Jsin and KB to built the armor and that hasn't happened and won't happen. Oh well chalk this up to another kit that will never happen in the 501st

On my screen it looks orange for F 3000 But my colors on my screen may be different If someone is willing I'd sample ketchup G3040 and shock red S3000 The shock red should be pretty pure; I'm looking for a red for my mountain trooper shoulder bell as well so was hoping to see some experimenting from the siths. I may also be doing this bucket and maybe the sith jumptrooper down road so may see me chime in here and there

Question, is the blaster something I'll have to do to add to the CRL if I'm the only one making this costume, I know it normally listed under optional so wasn't sure if it needed to be created just to be under optional

Awesome to hear, I just got ahold of Darkside Closet yesterday and had a good conversation about the soft goods. I've noticed in my research that if you compare black series figures of the Hoover Tank Pilots Shoretrooper and AC ACT drivers you find a lot of similar items that give great clues towards thing like colors patterns textures etc. A lot of these things have already been written on CRLs and should just need carried over. Armor should be here by end of week I hope and I'll start grinding away. But yeah I'm at point where I'm going to do my best to make it as accurate as possible based on the references I have and worse comes to worse I'll be the only mountain trooper at Celebration 2020.

All I know is my GML said he reached out and no one had put any claim on it. There is box art on the figure itself but varies slightly from the actual figure. (Difference in forearms, and the art has a pouch) May just be one version has a kama and the other is a grunt like the shores. Nothing from comics or tv shows yet, but fingers crossed. Won't show up in movie. May still show up in park but this all I know: Disney or Florida Garrison was supposed to be ordering kits from KB and Jsin. In his words "i'm already in talks with WDW, for the opening, still not sure, they want to see a completed suit, we are the CRL we are the one's making it" So hence why I bought from Jsin and KB. Hoping to work out the finer details, make the Mouse go wow and hopefully they'll have the trooper in park on special occasions or maybe for opening of new ride.

Red one for whatever reason looks much better; this is a strong maybe on the project list. Wish I could re use my flametrooper but more I think about it not sure as it seems like all new parts unless there is someway to glue on 3d printed details or bondo sculpt em on parts I own already. Can't seem to find any buyers for Flametrooper armor

Since no one seems to want to place claim to this trooper, if it is ok I will be starting my WIP here. Per the LMO no detachment has made a claim for the mountain trooper and my GML just told me to remain humble and open to criticism while developing. So assuming that means no wants it based on limited resources. Fingers crossed spec ops would want a special trooper like myself lol. My kit is all boxed up by KB and I'm just waiting for the bucket to get casted by Jsin. Boots have come in, I'm using the white hoover tank pilot boots from Gio. When figures from tanker and mountain are put side by side it's clear they are the same standard Chelsea style boots with heel. Need to find someone to help develop the belt with pouches and kama. If anyone knows of a good soft good belt/ kama wizard please hit me up

Shouldn't be too hard; it seems to use roughly the same number of pieces as the FOTK so that a good starting point. Delete the knees The hard part is figuring out what all the do dads and whatcha ma call its are like on the shoulder bell

Not trying to be a know it all or nit picky, but why is this costume labeled 709th? The 709th is based out of Battu and composed mostly of normal stormtroopers mountain troopers and a few officers. Not sure where the whole red fury 709th came from but I'd assume some rumors/ leaks got mixed up a bit

I'll be following along, because more than likely I'll be building this kit for someone. I made an offer to at least so fingers crossed. I don't want this for myself but would be interesting to work on Any ideas for red? I use a vibrant red for my vonreg but this seems like its almost a red from a sports car. Gonna be interesting trying to paint and sand with all the lines. There are literally lines everywhere on every single part including handguards. Gonna need to invest in thin pieces of wood and glue sandpaper on and curse the designer daily

The costume has been 100% redone looks like an FOTK but been picking it apart with Calvin last night and its all new. It will be on display next week at SDCC. So hoping anyone there can take all the proper 360 shots needed with a good camera
