Unfortunately I live in Charleston SC. However, if you post as you go with the questions you have, I am sure we can all help you. Have you started at all? If not, I would recommend starting with some of the easier pieces like the forearms, biceps or knees…so you can kind of warm up to building. Also, what tools are you using? This is important and can make your life much easier, especially if you have a table belt sander.

How is your build going?

Next I will be submitting pictures fully dressed in the armor / soft goods.

Wow. I cannot believe it has been a year since I posted. Anyway, I have done more work on it and am getting close. Will post pictures soon. I have most of the soft goods, other than the flightsuit and gloves. I found gloves at Wampawear, but cannot tell if the one they have listed as the Biker Scout Racing Suite meets 501st minimum requirements. Is there another source that also includes the suede pieces? It appears suede pieces will need to be added per the link below. Looking for a good build thread for the 850 Armor Works Deathtrooper Resin Helmet for specialist (or standard one)...

A little confused on how to properly connect the chest to back...the lower side strap (not sure exactly what I call that area). See area circled in red in the below image. Here are the parts I have from the 850 kit. The straps are resin and I will need to cut them down to size. The odd shaped pieces are to connect the back to the front. Do I permanently connect the ABS strips to the back or the front?

Looking for what is considered to be a really good build thread for this armor. Any recommendations?

Tank and chest are done and painted. (forgot picture of top of tank). Will post with next pictures. Next will be shoulder bells, biceps and forearms.
