  1. Jim uses flexible fibreglass for his armour parts, which is just as easy to work with as ABS. It's a good bit thicker & as the name says, quite flexable, which is very handy. There's also little or no prep work, other than a light sanding to remove any dust prior to the primer coat. From memory, I gave the armour 1 coat of primer & two coats of paint with 1 or two coats of varnish, with a little light sanding btween coats.
  2. I've a good few images of me in the IAT on my recon dragons thread. Start from the back of this thread...
  3. Hey there @Jonesy Great choice of armour build by the way. I have sourced both soft & armour parts (including the helmet from Jim & I'm very happy with what I got. I've cleared version 1 & 2 & will be getting images taken as soon as I can for the version 3 with the helmet.
  4. Thanks for the tag @IcyTrooper Thanks @Oldracer27 for this input.
  5. Make sure to get loads of images at troops, & post them in your recon dragons so we can use them for our social feeds.
  6. Great to see this Matt. Check the other WIP threads & feel free to ask any question. There are no silly questions & this SwiftSilentRelentless family will be able to answer any build question you may have.
  7. I'd suggest any hook detail be limited to L2 as its not seen in the series. Good to know from the BTS images that there's one there, but would recommend a possible L2 addition.
  8. Check your PMs. Thanks & good luck with your general weir build.
  9. It's great to have this costume here in Spec Ops & I look forward to seeing the CRL process progress from top to bottom.
  10. Glad to hear that you got yourself sorted, Peter
  11. Hi @Tibberon The CRL has an optional connection to the shoulder bridge. Unlike the TB, a zip ties is not mentioned in the shadow scout CRL. "Optional: Affix top of shoulder bells to shoulder bridge loops"
  12. Sad news everyone. Legion has come back to me today to confirm that the New To The Legion request for the Imperial Special Forces Trooper has not passed the Legion poll, so will not be made into a CRL. This is so sad, especially after all the hard work put in here to try to get the costume placed in the detachment & a CRL made. 😭

  14. Hi @pyro We have submitted this costume to LMO for their consideration to be added to the SpecOps detachment. There is a process to go through before a decision is made & the costume is approved & awarded to a detachment. We will let you know by announcing any good news here on the forums.
  15. Great tip, Ryan Thanks
  16. Hi Nathan, As @IcyTrooper said above, don't forget to request Spec Ops detachment access. https://forum.specops501st.com/forum/130-access-requests/
  17. Welcome Nathan. Great to have more IAT in the ranks
  18. I'd agree with snaps for the body & elastic for the shoulder bells. Also elastic for biceps & forearms
  19. Congratulatioins on your DT approval @swman77 I'll be reading through this build thread & others are I'm planning on making the same journey & start a DT build of my own
  20. As the guys said above, it will be legion who decides where to put this costume. And they won't start deciding until the full series has aired. So we will have to be patient to see if it come here or elsewhere. Thanks so much for showing the interest in building the costume.
  21. This should be of some help for uploading images to here. I have used imgur in the past, but have been using flickr for a good while & it's been working great for me.
