  1. Hi all, I'm working through a shadow stormtrooper build at the moment & I've a question on the shims needed to keep the gap between the back kidney & front ab pieces. For specialist, the left side of these two parts have 3 split rivets that are used to join & hold the two parts together. Does this mean if I need to add a shim to help my larger frame fit the armour, that I can only add a shim on the right side? Any help is appreciated.
  2. Keep up the great work. I look forward to trooping with you & welcoming you into the Balor's Wolfhunters Search and Destroy team.
  3. Hi Sean & welcome to the forums. I see you're from Malaysia, so I'm not too sure if there are any armour makers in your neck of the woods. There was gome great work done on the shadow trooper vendor list - I'm not sure if a similar list is due to be done on the shadow scout. Here's the best area to find info on the shadow scout. https://forum.specops501st.com/forum/161-shadow-scout/ I got my shadow scout from Chef Creations in the UK as I'm based in Ireland. There are a few more european based vendors, and several others based in the US. Manybe someone else can chip in if they are aware of a maker closer to you. I hope this is of some help.
  4. The start of a beautiful journey. Congrats. You'll love the scout.
  5. Congratulations on your clearance, trooper. Now get out there & get muddy. ?
  6. I would usually wear a tee shirt & boxers. The costume is warm enough even for the Irish weather.
  7. I got my Shadow scout kit from Chef's creations. I got to cut & build the armour. It was a very enjoyable process [mostly]. I have a build thread on here. My shadow scout build thread Feel free to have a read if that helps.
  8. I use imgur to upload images & then share the links on this forum. I hope that helps. Looking forward to seeing the mud trooper images.
  9. Great start on your build. Looking forward to seeing this costume done & ready to troop alongsite your Balors Wolfhunters family.
  10. That is a simply epic build thread. Such incredible detail. Congrats on the clearance.
  11. The 3-d printed versions are much lighter, but would be far more fragile.
  12. The resin DLT-19 is one heavy blaster. You couldn't keep aiming that for a long while. It would be maily held by your side or to your front due to the weight of all that resin. Saying that, it's still a lot lighter than the original MG34 which the blaster was based on. I've been lucky to hold one of these & that metal weapon is crazy heavy.
  13. Heavy resin. The E-11 in resin is bad enough, but the DLT-19 is quite a workout. I tend to rest the top of the blaster nozzle on my toe while troping.
  14. Just got great news. My shadow scout has been cleared. Many thanks to our GML & my shadowsister Andi for her help getting this build across the line. TX18170
  15. Thanks @raider I've already adjusted the pouches to sit either side of the central ribs of the cumberbund. I'll work on fixing the cloth loop on the shoulders. I appreciate the helpful tips.
  16. I'm nearly there. I've taken more submission photos & I'm waiting for an update. Hopefully I'll have news soon.
  17. It was on top of the visor. So I cut about 1cm from the centre of the top of the visor & glued a strip of abs underneath using clamps to keep it more straight. I've now filled it & sanded it. I've a coat of black paint drying at the moment. Then it will be a coat of varnish & hopefully done.
  18. Thanks @IcyTrooper My forum upload quota has vanished, so I'll have to find a way to send links instead. I'll send photos when I have the tweaks done. The main tweak involves sanding down the helmet visor to remove a curve, so i'll need to wait for paint & top coat to dry. Sadly, it could be a while before it's all done & ready.
  19. The clearance photos have been taken & sent in. I've been advised I need a few tweaks & should be good to go. Wish me luck.
  20. I got the belt done this evening. Nearly there
