  1. Here we go, sorry its not very sunny actually but i made the best out of this.... what do you say?
  2. 4 coats... first one is primer for the 2nd, then a dry phase then 3rd as primer for the 4th coat... i sanded at the beginning and between 2nd and 3rd...
  3. Tomorrow i will put it on and take some new pics for my gmo, i will put the same in here and you can tell me if i should take a chance for specialist level...
  4. Friends... i proudly present the final pictures without me wearing the armor... after 2 days of sanding and painting i am through with it. dont forget i did this the first time in my life with only the help of you guys in here, so thank you to all members of the 501st who supported me with their knowledge!
  5. Guys have you ever wet sanded a complete Suit.... i can tell you it’s pretty , let’s say, RS kind... the helmet and the left thight is left, sand that tomorrow and hope it’s not raining so I can paint some more.... damn I’m tired and the beer is just 5 meters away but i can’t move ?
  6. Due to the f....ing weather change, i could only work on the bells and one shin... i got em more even.. which one would you say is the one i worked on?
  7. Anovos .... please don’t say that word. I hope they will never bring out their shadow tk again. I didn’t know there’s a level 2 Shadowtrooper, I thought u can only reach the specialist level ? What is needed for level 2, besides a dlt19 or e11 or the black detonator box ....? Please don’t tell me u need a cloaking device build inside your armor or a color changer from black to white, to pretend you are just a regular Stormy... if that’s needed for level 2 , I’m gonna color my armor deep red and become a magma trooper.
  8. i hope the 2 other cans will be enough , can't wait to wear that bling bling boom chicka wahwah armor ?
  9. good morning, after the drying i wet sanded a part of the shoulder bell so you can see the difference to before the clear coat: like Raider mentioned before, it still looks kinda uneven, to fix this, i have ordered two more cans of the clear coat. i think they will arrive in 2 days and i can finish the armor then... i mean i could even let it like it is now, you can see the difference and how glossy it is but i try to get the surface perfectly even...
  10. Thats the clear coat i used... i will take some new pictures after 24h to see how it worked out, what i can say right now, its a big difference to before the clear coat.. it definitly has gloss now, that's for sure.
  11. I will do when I am back home, am on the way to a medieval christmas market.. but it needs to dry for about a day then this uneven look should disappear, it’s working meanwhile.
  12. good morning from the lacquer front.... i have some first impressions for you. i cleaned the armor up, sprayed it twice and let it dry now... this is the actual status.. please let me know what you think about it...
  13. thank you Raider, see i am also new to the Star Wars costume scene and i bought my first costume from RS cuz they promised on their homepage it is 501st approved. But after a couple of weeks of reading, meeting cool 501st members and building my own binoculars, i found out this is what gives me a good time, makes me happy and that's the most important thing for me, you guys are a bunch of crazy, cool star wars loving people.. that's simply me and i wanna be part of this great Legion!
  14. To avoid this problem in the future, i think it is only a problem for people who just buy a fully finished commission what means they don't have the skill or the time to build them on their own. I would recommend to mark the word glossy in the CRL or at least say it could differ from garrison to garrison, i think this is barrely fair. What i am saying is, we all want the same, have fun with our costumes and make others happy with it, let's find a way in the future to avoid problems as good as possible. And RS Props should do the same on their homepage, to say it is 501st approved ready is just not up to date anymore, i will tell them this as well...
  15. Mason it totaly differs from garrison to garrison, maybe your GML/GMO is like IcyTrooper. then you will get approved. In my case. it's just bad luck, most of the shadows have a super glossy armor, so my one does not fit in! we also have different squads in germany, the RS Shadowtrooper was approved many times in diffferent squads but that do not help me today. I can only clear coat it and i will do so... don't worry bro, you will make it in!
  16. I will spray my armor this weekend, i post the results here for all to see. And for all you non glossy believers... im gonna buy this: https://www.amazon.de/PCE-Instruments-Glanzmessgerät-PCE-GM-50/dp/B004PFZPW4 hope it translates in english if you klick the link. I will make this device to my personal gloss detector and find all of you non-glossy shadows *hrhrhr*
  17. RS props gave me the advise to wait, they want to talk to the garrison why their armor isn’t glossy enough these days.
  18. Mason, since we two have the same Armor, just let me know when you get approved with it. In that case the CRL must be re-worked, if two guys have the same armor and only the gmo decides wich one has the right kind of gloss to be approved, then in my opinion it must be written like that in the CRL. And i will contact RS Props again and tell them their product is not anymore working with the german standards, like it was the years before.
  19. In my case, i finally got an answer, my GMO says i have to put some shiny clear lacquer on my armor cuz its not glossy enough... i wrote a letter to RS Prop Masters, to ask if they can recommend a product that works fine with their ABS, their answer was: Hi Sebastian, I will ask the question, this should not stop you getting approved it isn't a requirement for the crl. We make to the original. I will let you know if any product can be added to the armour. well it seems it is a requirement now. i ordered some shiny clear lacquer on amazon, a product that works with ABS, at least that's what the description says. I'll work on my armor next weekend, i let you see the results...
  20. Question: would my helmet pass the specialist conditions?
  21. Would there be an option to add some binoculars?
  22. Hey Allan, that looks incredibly amazing, what a nice idea. What do you think, when will it be done? I hope you get it done soon and make it an offical accessory, maybe i try that with my binoculars too.... Very good job brother!
  23. May i introduce you....the first shadow trooper binoculars, reworked, hope you like it.
