  1. That's very interesting. I guess the CRL could be adjusted to give some margin, size-wise. I guess the belt clip behind the box had been removed? Not sure what's the purpose of the slot. It's also very interesting to see the paint finish. It's darker than I thought. Do you have more picture of this?
  2. Bayonet? Never seen any blade on a SW blaster. I guess you mean the support?
  3. From what I can see, the most important difference between the E-10 we see in Andor and the older one, is that the E-10 from Andor includes a scope similar to the one we see on the classic E-11.
  4. For the hard parts, I still hesitate concerning the color to use.
  5. As far as I'm concerned, I have the boots, the pants/tunic/cap (ordered from Imperial boots) are getting resized at a local seamstress, the gloves... I have a regular belt but I have ordered one with grooves. The thing I don't have at hand for the unarmored costume are the belt boxes. I'm thinking of getting some printed instead of painting the metal one I already have. I also have the hard parts ordered but I'm not sure when it's going to arrive. Should we discuss the blaster here?
  6. Ow. But as far as this CRL is concerned, I don't think we should try to base our standards on this 😉
  7. Well, the original they used for the OT weren't WW2 jackboots but more West-German army from the '60-'70, if I remember well. I suspect there are huge stock of such surplus boots all over Europe the military stored in case the cold war became "warm". I bought mine from a surplus store in Poland. They are certainly pretty old... and still in a fairly good shape.
  8. I guess it does help when the base product is good. Andor is such an excellent series 🙂
  9. I checked the three Aldhani episodes. Most of the time we can't see the upper part of the pants because it's covered by the tunic. In the camp scenes you mention, they are not in uniform yet so we can't use them. The pants they use are very different. The only exception is Cassian himself when he removes his tunic. We do see he is wearing a brown belt. I can't see any loop on the pants. As for the belt, I don't believe this is something we can consider as representative for the costume of the Aldhani Imperial Troopers. While someone such as Fraser could tell if it actually had belt loops, Imo since they aren't seen, I would just make no mention of a presence/absence of belt loops for the pants in the CRL. Even for level 2.
  10. I'm with TJ on that one. Yes, it's the same character. They are all Army Trooper. But it's not the same costume and CRLs are about costumes. The Armored version and the no-armor version have a very different look and feel. One is a "combat" costume. The other is a day-to-day army fatigues. They have two purposes. They have distinct identities. I also believe it's the more established way of classing the costumes. I mentioned the IOC crew vs the Navy Trooped. TJ mentioned the TI reserve vs Pilot. But it's also the case with classic costumes such as the ANH Stunt TK vs the Hero. Or the different Vaders. Or even the clones of the same "phase". They all have different CRLs. Still, I think the option to have different versions for a CRL is great. But I think it's best for only minor variations where the nature of the costume is kept. Which isn't the case here.
  11. I think we are on the right track. TJ is doing some amazing work. I wonder if it would be worth it to look for other brands, too? In my local stores, Rit seem to have a quasi-monopoly. But still...
  12. Triple Axel isn't green enough, imo. For Granny Smith, it looks too pale to me.
  13. I can also do some testing. I already have the pieces of fabrics. Just waiting for some of my dye to be delivered. Local stores didn't have all the colors I needed, such as the very useful Apple Green.
  14. Thank you so much for sharing all these tests with us TJ. I agree with you that Rain Forest Cover and Olive Green tend to look best. Your custom color tests are also interesting. Tan gives a slightly paler look to the green while the yellow seems to make it "greener". When I look at the color used for the costume in the screenshots, I tend to see it slightly more "brown-ish". I wonder, what's your opinion concerning "spanish olive" ? Spanish Olive – Rit Dye
  15. In my opinion, I think the armor / helmet on the costume makes it different enough to warrant a different CRL. It's similar to the Imperial Crew versus the Imperial Navy Trooper. They are basically the same costume but the addition of the Navy Trooper helmet make them different enough to require two CRLs. As for the helmet / cap version of the armored costume, it makes sense to me that they are two versions of the same costume. They have the same general look and feel.
  16. I wonder if this is not a bit too olive? I think I preferred the previous coloring. Darker, closer to what I can see from the screen caps. But perhaps it's the lighting?
  17. Hello David, In your latest version, I see no mention of the groove/lines for the belt for level 1 or 2. Is it intentional? For reference, here's the wording for the level 2 requirement of the IOC non-saga Imperial Officer.
  18. Thanks for the explanation. As someone who manage a garrison, I guess that I have a different approach to this and I tend to value practical consideration over those of absolute accuracy. I believe the legion wins by having its costumes more accessible, both in price and in ease to build. For example, I really like the ANH TK Stunt CRL. It uses its three levels to make the costume easier to make while still encouraging potential recruits to go above the baseline. Yes, level 1 TKs aren't 100% accurate but they are close enough to it to not make a real difference. In our case here, lot of members have classic black leather belts with no line they have been using with their Officers, crewmen, navy trooper, gunners, Tie Pilot, etc. These lines are pretty difficult to notice unless you specifically look for them. So I think it's a fairly good candidate for a level 2 requirement. But I can certainly understand if you are thinking otherwise.
  19. Indeed. I was more surprised about the general statement that say "If something is present on all character, then it's level 1". Then I wonder, what should be level 2 according to this statement? Perhaps I misunderstand something.
  20. Just curious. Any reasons why you decided to go liquid and not powder?
  21. Not sure to understand the point Mark. If something is not on all characters, then it becomes an optional(or alternate) feature. Not a higher level requirement. If you require it for level 2, that means that a costume that is not using this alternate version cannot reach Level 2 ?
  22. Wondering, it seems belt boxes have been included with the belt. Should they not be a separated item? It's the case with the IOC crls. It might help keeping the crl a bit more clear. Also concerning the belt, perhaps it would be a nice idea to include the two recessed lines that TJ mentioned for level 2 ?
  23. Well spotted. It's true that Andor's belt box seems a bit different in this frame. I revised a good part of episode 6 to see if I could see any other occurrence. Late in the episode it's getting dark so it's difficult to tell. But earlier, I saw this : Perhaps, since he is the hero of the show, he got a slightly different costume? Hrmm.
