Scubacat[TX]
Might someone kindly put up pics of their cod piece. I need to figure out how much I can take away to keep it comfortable and approval. That and there was soooooo much cutting!!! Link to comment
Darth Emphatic[CMD-DWM]
Torri, looks like you might be able to take a little off the top of the ab/kindey. We have a habit of tightening things up, but not always messing with the proportions. One reason is it can be scary. I know it. I like that you separated the butt plate, but it can be a little hard to get to stay seated right. The best method I have found is using snap strips that run horizontal with the seam, where as most do a few vertical strips. Shortening up the top of the ab kidney, will help with this too. Scubacat[TX]
Thanks you guys! Yeah I will need to be trying to look at what every one else has done with strapping and snaps and such like that. You should have seen how much the shoulder bells covered the other armor! I had to take two inches off!!! I am really small compared to some of the armor but I feel like it is coming along great thanks to one of my friends. He has build a few armor kits, so he knows a few things. XD I am also trying to get it to fit comfortably as well as being fully approvable. Does anyone have suggestions for comfort vs approval? I am so close to being approved that I don't want to mess up now and have to wait longer than I already have. I will be trimming down the kidney a bit along with the ab plate so that my chest is not being attacked. XD There is also a lot that I have to trim with the thighs.....probably another two inches or so. The hand plates are a bit big.....not sure which side to trim there. Arms and a few other pieces will need foam. Â I am not sure what you mean by the chicago belt......newbie here. Â Also, I might try to go specalist from the get go so it would not hurt if someone could tell me exactly what to do to get mine in that category. ^^ Â And what is this thing that I read somewhere where there can be no visible rivets or something like that? Can someone give me an example of their connection points on their armor? Link to comment
Scubacat[TX]
Dizzy I am going to probably do what you did with your kidney. How did you cut the cod piece because when I first tried it on it was way to big for me so I think I will trim a lot down same for the neck. As of now I can not really turn my head much with all of my armor and bucket on. Link to comment
Scubacat[TX]
Over the wekend, I was able to borrow a friends armor and get some trooping in. ^^ Here are a few pics of me. His armor has been modded so much for comfort that he can actually spin on his back and almost sit in a lotus position!!! I was able to sit in a normal chair and moon walk in his armor. ^^ (yeah I can moonwalk) Â Â I was such a ham! Â Link to comment
DizzyStormtrooper[501st]
What armor you have? I just cut along the ab's bottom curved edge, but if you cut straight across like pandatrooper did you can mount the belt on the excess side parts that remain. Its hard to explain Link to comment
Scubacat[TX]
I can't remember the exact thing for the armor but I have been following pandatrooper a lot and I think I have a few things figured out. Some other things, Not so much. Also, I think that I am going to make my drop boxes so that they can hold small things. ^^ Link to comment
xanthis02[501st]
awww you made a cute widdle trooper seriously though your getting there Link to comment
Scubacat[TX]
XD Yeah! I decided to go ahead and use my photoshop skills. I thought it looked cute! Sadly though, I just got a new job and I will not be able to work much on my shadow until I get my hours figured out. Same goes with Halloween. I don't even know if I can really do anything for it other than the decorations I put up. We will see. I am getting double the pay and hours at this new job so I hope it works out. Link to comment
Master Tej
Congratulations on the new job! I'm sure you'll still get work in on the armor. Â - Master Tej - Link to comment

Scubacat[TX]
Ok, so I finally got my neck seal and holster and I have put together my armor to at least try it out but nothing is permanent at this point. I have been to two troops to see if anything was too big or if it would fall apart......I am having trouble with the shoulder bells and the cod piece staying put but other than that all is pretty good and snug. Here ate the pics from those troops. Sorry if any of them are a little fuzzy. Â Link to comment
splinter[TX]
Looking good Torri. I think we need to add the shorts to the CRL. Link to comment
