Scubacat[TX]
Does anyone know how to flip the straps on a pauldron so that the black side is on top instead of the orange? I can't really paint right now since it is so cold and I thought that that should be a simple solution for it so that I can do specialist. Â On another update, I am waiting for glue to dry, literally. I have test fit all of my snaps and hopefully by the end of the day I will be ready for pics for my application. Link to comment
Scubacat[TX]
Ok, quick pics of some of my snap setup. Â Link to comment
Darth Emphatic[CMD-DWM]
Looking good. For my shoulders I ended up using something stiffer as I noticed a left to right shift from the chest to the bells to the back plate, but you may not have that problem. Link to comment
Fivezero[TX]
Making some great progress Torri, keep at it! Â Fivezero Link to comment
Griffin-X[501st]
Ok, quick pics of some of my snap setup. Â Great snap work Torri. You have really come a long way since joining up with us. I can't wait until we get you approved and legit in the Legion. Well done! Link to comment
xanthis02[501st]
looking good Torri i'll get my shadow trooper assembled eventually Link to comment
Scubacat[TX]
So my armor is more or less going to have to stay as just one piece until later when I mod some of it. Here is a few more updates. I think I am literally just gluing on snaps and shining armor to get ready for pics. Â Link to comment
Griffin-X[501st]
I have been watching your progress closely and think you are just about there SC. Go for it and I look forward to seeing your approval! Got your digits picked out?! Link to comment
toddo[TX]
I'm looking forward to seeing how this all fits you. Link to comment
Scubacat[TX]
It all fits pretty well on me but there are a few problem areas that need to be smoothed still. It does feel funny since my forearms can actually spin around. XD I will take a video to show you all. I think I need a body muscle suit for any future builds. Link to comment
Griffin-X[501st]
You can use little rectangles of foam to fill in the "empty" spaces too. Link to comment
toddo[TX]
Some of the Vader guys use a muscle shirt under their armor to fill it out and more like Prowse. However, with TK-style armor, usually you can trim it back to fit you pretty well. If I recall, you are using AM? That is sized for larger troopers, but you should still be able to size it pretty well without much foam inside. Let's see how it looks on you. Link to comment
Scubacat[TX]
I will have to use some foam on the inside once I get approved. The major question I have now is for the sides. Are they supposed to meet or can they overlap for the kidney plate meeting the ab plate? Also is the belt able to just have the holster looped over it or is it supposed to be attached? Link to comment
Griffin-X[501st]
For general approval, if the overlap is not really bad or does not look horrible, it should be fine. Also, a looped belt is fine for general approval. Those are just little tweaks that would be required for a Specialist approval. Link to comment
Scubacat[TX]
Ah! Ok, then I will probably trim my kidney plate a bit. I have everything else ready for specialist and I hope to send in my application by the end of the week! Is there any big concerns I should know for specialist? Link to comment
Griffin-X[501st]
We need to tackle the Legion approval first, and get you "official". Basically, your Legion GML will approve your costume for "general clearance" based on your submission pics. That's when you are accepted into the Legion and get your TK ID. Â Once that is done, we'll update your profile here to "Spec Ops" status and then you can apply for Specialist. We handle the Specialist stuff internally with the Spec Ops staff. Â Have you sent in your Legion approval pics? Link to comment
Scubacat[TX]
Ah! Ok, I am taking my pics this weekend hopefully. There is a photoshoot at some local ice castles and I think that will help the armor show up really nice. Link to comment
Griffin-X[501st]
Cool, let us know if you need anything on this end. With all your hard work and determination, I'm sure you will look awesome! Link to comment
Scubacat[TX]
Ok, I have sanded a bunch of my rough spots, connected all of my snaps, I have someone helping me with my belt, I got the shoulder straps connected and I have the t shaped snaps in place. Going to connect the final snaps and post pics tomorrow. What is left is the thighs to the ab plate snaps. Going to try to shine up my armor for a photoshoot this weekend at the local ice castles. Wondering if that would be appropriate submission pics. If not I am going to a photographer friend to submit them. Link to comment
Scubacat[TX]
Oh! Almost forgot, I recently got a small piece for a future build that is not Star Wars related. If anyone can guess what it is from, they might get a little digital doodle from me. Â Link to comment

Scubacat[TX]
Here is me trying to figure out a garter belt thing. As you can see, work keeps making me tired. Â Link to comment
toddo[TX]
I've done the garter thing, but I have found that I prefer to simply strap the thighs to the cod. Link to comment
