Darth Emphatic[CMD-DWM]
On the right path, Jim. Looking great! Link to comment
marktoots[501st]
Hi Jim. Looking good mate. The Biceps look spot on once you have widened the detailing lines The one thing I have spotted is with the right thigh. There are a couple of details missing. However, you may have got them covered already. The first is the sniper plate (!?). The second relates to this and is a detail on the outside just above the knee. The only other thin is that the ribbed areas look to be rubber on the SWCE costumes. However, I have yet to find the correct material and am wondering how that would bond into the fibre glass anyway!? Awesome work though. Keep it coming Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk Link to comment

marktoots[501st]
You are really flying with the DT armour now A couple of observations: On the Forearms the indents of the ladders are a bit narrow. Also on the left forearm you have got the detailing for the strap connectors but not the straps themselves! What is you plan there? With regard to the shin/calf armour your's is very shapely in comparison to the SWCE armour Will suit well defined calf muscles Also I noticed Derrek's observation on fb earlier with regard to the lower leg armour. I agree with him that there seems to be a split in the armour down the rear and that the inner piece is part of a retaining mechanism. I can however understand why you are considering casting it the way you are. I have included a couple of photos showing the overlap. Hope this helps? jimmiroquai[501st]
Yup, we'd like to try it this way first since it's simpler. It's also been sculpted in such a way that it looks like a separate piece. Updates! Modelling the leg greeblies: First cast of prototype parts: Trimming the thighs: I'm only 5'9 barefoot. I had to trim about 2.5" off the top of the thighs. Testing the rigging for the abs, back, cod and butt. Thighs will be held up tk style via a belt and elastic. Test fitting: Again, i'm 5'9 barefoot. I'm too short and a bit too wide. There is lots of allowance though. As seen from the ab plate, i have 4 horizontal slats showing. Screen guys have 7. This ab piece has 9 slats. Still waiting on the forearms and shins but so far the torso will fit probably fit someone 5'8 to 6'3, maybe even 6'5. With regards to the soft parts: My prototype is made of neoprene for the body and stretch vinyl for the "wings". I decided to use neoprene for the torso as well because it's very very hot and humid here. I may try other ways to simulate the rubber like look of the torso, but rubber or latex is just out of the question. (I had a bad case of heat exhaustion before and would never want to experience that again). The "wings" are too wide, so i'll have to bring that in. The neoprene ribbed undersuit is also too baggy. 3 Link to comment

jimmiroquai[501st]
Finally finished the prototype set. This is the regular sized version. A tall version is in the works with longer biceps, forearms, and shins. Will be launching soon. Production starts in January. In the Pics i am 5'9 barefoot. Short and husky Deathtrooper: Helmet: I have to find a more opaque lens. Any suggestions? Also, is the death trooper lens bubbled or flat? 1 Link to comment
Griffin-X[501st]
Very nice work Jim, outstanding! I'd say the lens is a shade 5 welder's shield and what you have looks pretty close. It looks flat to me as well, with a slight curve. But, that's just me. Link to comment
toddo[TX]
Well-done Jim. Thanks for keeping the size of the helmet small enough to not be a bobble-head for those of us under a million feet tall. 1 Link to comment

jimmiroquai[501st]
Ribbed neoprene undersuit with integrated stretch vinyl / faux leather neck seal and gaskets as well as the boot covers. Picture of the suit below is our final premium prototype. All ribbing on the neoprene and faux leather are stitched individually. Neck seal and gaskets also have embedded chord to give more shape to the ribbing. Ab section had internal drawstrings to help tighten it to your body. 4 Link to comment

toddo[TX]
I'm digging the undersuit Jim, but I'm worried about the heat it will trap inside. I was looking at what I think was a screen-used Shore suit the other day in person, and I noticed that behind the armor the suit consisted of a mesh fabric that isn't meant to be seen. That would allow for maximum heat-escape. This idea is similar to what is used on the back of Vader undersuits and on the abdomen of Kylo Ren's. 1 Link to comment
toddo[TX]
In this pic you can see the mesh I'm talking about in the armpit area: 1 Link to comment
