LOOKING FOR COMMUTER STYLE BOOTS.

Hello troopers!!

 

I’m working in my Imperial Army Trooper costume and I already have many things (helmet, goggles, green imperial flight suit, imperial army patches, olive gloves, belt and belt pouches) but I have a problem with boots. I have seen that the CRL of the boots will change soon, I found these boots and I would like to know if they would be valid. The boots are: “DENVER HAYES Men's Midland Side Zip Winter Boots”

The product description says they are “mid-height boots” and I think they are very similar to Hunter’s Bay commuter style boots), but I don’t know if they are 9”.

What do you think?

my thought on that is the false tab on the side will prevent GMLs from approving.  For me it would be a sticking point for the Specialist rating.  I saw that boot but chose not to include it due to that side tab. .

Hi again troopers!

I continue looking for commuter style boots and I found these “Blondo Mickey waterproof boots”.

I think they are very expensive than others, but in my opinion the most important thing is to have many options of boots.

this is a nice boot. very likely nicer than what I wear.  and it probably isnt lined for warmth like mine are. however they are leather and mine are , vinyl? pleather? naugahyde? I bet these are better boots.  I wouldn't say no if someone wanted to purchase a better boot especially if they plan to use it for other costumes.

Ill say ,always check with your GML.  some of these have additional, decorative stitching.  It may be approvable for a L1 base approval, but if one wants to go Specialist that will likely be a issue.

Hi again Blackwatch!!

I just updated the last post with two new entries (9 and 10).

Following your advice, I have not posted these Totes winter boots because they have many decorative stichings and are possibly only valid for L1.

i like the shape overall. the only issue with the boot is that decorative stitching. 

A GML MIGHT/ MAY/ ITS UP TO HIM OR HER  approve for L1 use, which isnt really a bad thing if you can source these.  But I do not believe they would pass for Specialist approval.

Next step: paint them with Montana Gold Olive Green Spray.
