Del Meeko - first build for new trooper

Recommended Posts

Hi all!

As suggested to me in my Reporting In! thread, I'm making a build thread here.

I already got some very valuable input from you guys. So I still need to check out Klaus' Frässtüberl for items, and to reach 3D Schmiede (who does not seem to answer on Messenger).
But, with that in mind, you can see my current progress in my spreadsheet here:

And everyone loves pictures, so here I am with just my jumpsuit, boots and gloves (and a non-CRL Imperial hat, just for fun).

Great that the spreadsheet is of use to others (a previous life as an account wasn't wasted after all 😅)

Now, finally, I'm going to get the final pieces put together this weekend. With kind help from a couple of people from the local garrison.

I do have one question: How did you guys make the Over belt closing mechanism? Just velcro on the leather belt?
The CRL states: "waist strap which closes under the thermal detonator."

Also, here are some random photos of many (but not all) of the pieces as they have been coming together.

Thats how a shadow trooper would normally do it however if you look at the CRL pic the belt is a typical Officer style leather belt with the plastic part added.  I looked for specialist applications to look at and there arent any so far.

Please have a look at this topic for reference.

Yes, velcro is a simple and effective way to do it. I've experimented with some other options which has been less successful, so I'm going to convert my own back to velcro again!

One thing that might be useful to bear in mind - when I first made my outer belt I used a very soft leather for the strap. Turned out to be too soft to reliably clip the thermal detonator to, so I was always paranoid about it falling off. That's why I switched to an actual leather belt, and just hid the buckle behind the front section of the scout belt. However that didn't work very well... So I am going back to velcro, but I'll be using a sturdier leather strap this time.

Hi, I would to know if you have some photos of your del meeko final build? Are you satisfied by your helmet? Saw you ordered it on 3d schmiede. How did did he take to build your helmet ?

Thanks!
