Still look good. Suggestion for the guns, though they may never show, you can wear down the little nobs on the grips and smooth them with some fine sand paper, then repaint them. It improves that realism just a bit even if you might only see it in holster.

I read through as much as I could in one sitting, but let me say this, I think this info will be hugely helpful for new members and existing TX's. It just gives others an idea of a way to do some things. I am grateful for you taking the time to do this

Seems like the decal route would be really tough to get right, but if you can someone to make it just for the curvature of the bucket, it might just be a convenient option for many

I am going to try the autoshop method next. If I can get it done well for 50 I will be happy

why not something in between. Car battery is over kill. It will have way more reserve juice then you'll ever need, now a laptop battery is light and can provide the proper power with less weight. Obviously need something more then the default 6 cell,but it would still be way lighter

If you can find it that would be great. I have followed advise from many others, but so much seems to fall back on luck to keep a smooth coat, even if the bucket is smooth before you paint. The paint itself can rough up in spots as it builds and I just dont know how to avoid that. I really want to get this bucket done, I have been sitting on it for far too long.

Alright, so I have been working on painting my bucket from scootch's run. I have sanded, painted, resanded because it sucked, painted again, and sanded. I tried something knew this time, a rollbar gloss black spray paint. It actually went on pretty well, but it still isn't perfectly smooth. I just can't seem to get this to where I want it.

You can also weather it with some black with the logic that it was treated to make it silver.

Very nice man. I actually bought some paint from the autoparts store. highgloss, but meant for roll bars so it's supposed to be durable. If it doesn't work, I might just sand and then try getting it painted at body shop. I know other troopers that have done that. I really want it done by SDCC, but I don't know if that will happen.

Do you have any comparison pics next to any other helmet molds (FX, etc)? A lot of people like seeing that.

Yeah, I would definitely pick a show. I am fortunate in that i couldn't possible run out of movies to watch or rewatch. I think I would need to watch 1 every day for 3 years to cover them .
