  1. I've done my screen in black for the time being. Its easy to switch out so I justed wanted to see how it would look. I will post pics tonight. The paint job cost me $80. I know, you can get lucky with it being cheaper. Matt got one done for $50. I liked this guy and trusted him to do a good job so considering how crappy my own paint job had been, I was okay with spending the extra money. I had to add some fiberglass/resin to the inside of the dome since it had some flex to it (I also did this in the aerator holes). That was done yesterday. I will post pics tonight. I also have some lenses cut from a motorcycle visor that I am trying to get the proper curvature out of right now. Will be seeing how those came out tonight.
  2. It's a long road, but it will be awesome when it is done!!!
  3. Looking good boss. Its good to know with you doing the work, you will take the appropriate care with a mando.
  4. Nice molds! What do you treat the template with when you make the first mold so it doesn't stick too much.
  5. I think that would make a nice sculpture for my house, you selling it
  6. Looking good still. Can't wait to see this finished. I love this too:
  7. Thanks man. You really can't beat going the autoshop route. I would do this from the beginning next time. Yeah, that's what I was curious about. I have metal mesh for it as well. Do we have any closeup film screens of the aerator? There are different kits floating out there, I am just curious what is actually most accurate.
  8. What do you guys think about the Aerators. If I am going gloss/flat black with everything, what do think about the mesh of the aerators. Black it out or still go silver?
  9. Looking good. It seems like you could get your chest armor to lie a bit flatter on you so you dont as much of a gap
  10. i would be curious to know if there is any other reference anywhere to this trooper armor pattern
  11. Just make sure what you use to cover them wont stick...
  12. Agreed, great work and its always worth the effort
  13. Took a couple comparison shots. Can't wait to get out of that giant FX
  14. Or do the same thing and put them in the sun, though in either method I would worry about bleeding from the heat and losing the evenness of the dye job
  15. Properly weathered, I think that scheme will look great
  16. Oh, I know everything I said is acceptable, I was curious what others thought about the look. I worry about not getting that distinction in the areas by keeping them gloss. Flat black I think is best but I have to paint on my nice new shiny bucket. I am not inclined to go gray again.
  17. Those look like the boots I have, where did you get them? Pauldron came out very nicely
  18. That work just scares me, but you are doing a fine job.
  19. So, thinking of leaving my teeth as gloss black, what do you guys think? Anyone got one for reference? Also figure ill go flat black all the way around for everything else, but I could just do all gloss. Thoughts?
  20. Now i need to figure out how to make my armor match it So i need some black tube stripes. Anyone have an extra set?
  21. Finally got my bucket painted. What do you think? I think it came out quite well. The back of the bucket in the side pictures looks funny, but that's actually from the reflection, this think is nice and shiny. Now I have to do the rest. Not sure how I am going to do the teeth yet. Painted them last time, which I can probably do again. the lenses will come out of my old bucket, as will the interior fans. I have aerators, they just need to be painted. Looks like I have a weekend project planned. Can't wait to get out of my giant TX bucket which I will probably end up selling.
