  1. No prob. Something thats going to give u this look in the soles after u make the cuts...
  2. You should be good to attempt real leather boots. The process to create Shadow boots is the same. Just use black lol. Ive never used leather...not sure of how well it stretches compared to the vinyl. As far as base boot, a few troopers in my area (including myself) did our own using some Kmart boots that cost $20 or less if u can catch a sale. The issue is...Kmarts are closing all over the place. With marine vinyl, we finished them for around $40 total. I know other people have used Walmart Wrangler brand as well.
  3. Not to be confused with the Specialist DT variant...this is for Level 2 approvals. Currently there is no Level 2 available for DTs. That is on my priority list to see get done asap. @nanotek has already started drafting an update proposal so we can see that happen sooner than later.
  4. @Blackwatch That looks good to me though I was ok w/ the word "moderately"...it matches the original Mudtrooper CRL and I think that consistency is good. I was more talking about the model's weathering. What is your opinion? Is the weathering amount acceptable? Open to the community's feedback on this before @jimmiroquai goes weathering crazy on it. Hair...we can bypass for now and move to optional. It's unseen with the helmet on...should only be required if the helmet is off (which can be a separate tabbed version). Now...do you think a requirement of no visible hair is necessary for helmet on or is that nitpicking? Feel free to tackle goggles and scarf text...they are fine. Only adjustments that probably should happen are on the model herself.
  5. I don't know man...I really like those angled forward hose connectors. Do what ya gotta but I think those came out nice.
  6. The short answer (and I want to preface this because it's text typed...no negative or sarcastic tone implied) is that this is a different detachment and requirements do not necessarily have to match. Our references are based primarily on a Star Wars Galaxies video game character. The TB and TX CRLs were basically aligned...however, Pathfinders did an update last year, and we had no input on their CRL changes (as is expected...we don't have to align w/ one another) and so that's no longer the case...that's an additional reason to any other differences you may find (and there are plenty as of present). That said, I did mention earlier that an update is incoming. You can read it here: https://forum.specops501st.com/index.php?/topic/6057-proposed-crl-update-shadow-scout-not-yet-active/ This is, for the most part, how the update will read. We have gone back in the staff area and made some minor adjustments, but the core of it is there and if you check the flight suit text, the Level 2 flight suit requirement is being adjusted. Hope this helps. If you have more questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
  7. In the references the armor parts just seem more dingy and scuffed than what these appear. I see you did some weathering there, but it seems light compared to references...particularly on the bigger pieces (helmet, chest, back, shoulders). Your weathering is more noticeable on the biceps. Again...I'm a horrible judge of color (so more opinions on it are welcome), but in regards to the cords...the blaster one looks to be very light in color as well in relation to the reference material (it should be a dark, dirty red). Likewise, it looks like it is a very similar color to the belt cord, which currently looks very clean and bright on the model compared to the dark, dirty red in the references. I will hold on any further feedback though on those parts and any wording adjustments to the CRL till we get to them.
  8. @jimmiroquai tagging you here so you can make note of any suggested adjustments. As we discuss this piece by piece let's make note of any adjustments that the model would need to make in order to achieve the agreed upon Level 1 requirements. HELMET @Blackwatch you can proceed w the suggested text adjustments. @jimmiroquai based on references, I feel we need to get more weathering on this. Text says "moderately weathered" and she is looking pretty clean at the moment...esp when I compare to references. This will probably need to be carried over to all armor pieces as well. HAIR I'd like to move to optional for now...I believe we will need to do helmet on/helmet off tabbed versions. GOGGLES I've requested additional pics of the goggle separate from @jimmiroquai Regarding the goggles on the model...it appears that the bridge adjuster needs to be bronzed. SCARF I'm of the opinion that the scarf needs to be a dark red. Granted, I'm not the best person to get opinions on color for...but the one being used by model appears much lighter when compared to references. Thoughts? Then we can move forward.
  9. Understood. I'm assuming this is going to be a proposed change to the Mudtrooper CRL as well when we get to it? Anyways, I'm trying to zoom up on the reference pic...don't see the bungee but it is fuzzy when I zoom up that close.
  10. With the CRL live, I found it helpful (and more structured) to review the items piece by piece. I feel if we do this from the start, we can progress through it more efficiently. It also helps that we have the generic Mudtrooper completed as a starting point. Would everyone be ok with this approach?

  13. Concept art names them Rocket Troopers…is the name "Jumptrooper" used in the episodes?
  14. Congrats! U look great!!! If needed, would we have permission to use these photos in a CRL gallery (additional reference materials for GMLs to examine)? Well done!
  15. Nice. I think the holdup for most people has been the material for the tunic.
  16. Cool. Going for Level 2? We need a first lol
  17. Excellent! Glad to have this here. Keep em coming! At quick glance...possibly may look at the goggle trim n compare to references to see if it needs some trimming back. Looking good! Did u throw a little bungee wrap on that telemetry unit?
  18. Excellent. Opportunity here for a brief "bloused" how to link for those that might not know what that is as well.
  19. Interesting. I will need to go back through all of the discussion threads to see the references as to why that is. Let me ping my Mud experts as well @JAFO @amcclary @rickyboyblue @Tarrif
  20. Awesome. Did you do the end cap details? Those top "clips" are remaining silver?
  21. Heck yea bro!!! Well done. @Hydra @IcyTrooper Can we get a nice clean edit of him up on social media? THX!
