  1. And if he can't, I'm sure you can figure out a way. We can look back through the refs again and see if we missed something on the frame issue as well. And we could decide Level 1 vs. Level 2 as well...frame / no frame...if it comes to that discussion.
  2. Yes the frame we discussed...what about some bondo to level the edges off and "hide" the frame? An idea if having him readjust the design is asking too much.
  3. Welcome! Thank you for doing this! You are right...these threads are great for the builder and future builders alike. Appreciate you being here and putting in the work!
  4. @ThomasDurbin I read through this thread (and will re-read it again to make sure I'm up to speed). I will PM you my email so you can forward it to me and I will make sure the incoming CRL team takes a look at it at the very least. The standards for creating new CRLs haven't changed (referencing back to what Darth Emphatic made mention of in above posts), but looking at it can't hurt anything. PM incoming.
  5. No need to apologize [emoji16]. I was just clarifying Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Totally understand. Wrapping this up is on the high list of priorities (pending elections).
  7. I have canvas ones (for an in-progress Sandy) from Trooperbay. I also purchased a canvas version from a maker on MEPD. My friend @ShadowDriver uses canvas ones for his Shadowtrooper and they look good. It really boil down to preference (or you could check locally to see what troopers in your area typically use if you want to have some uniformity with them) but you can't go wrong either way in my opinion.
  8. Are we talking Deathtrooper @Salwii? @nanotek @Chaos any input or know someone who might have this kind of info?
  9. Hey Bill...I know Kerry. He was approved as Imperial Army...I can't say for certain though, but if memory serves correct he MAY have been approved before the the original CRL was pulled and reworked. In the original Imperial Army Trooper, the officer was listed as a variant using the base trooper costume. We have since gone back (after examining references more carefully) and pulled that original Army Trooper CRL removing the officer variant. Lt. Janek Sunber (the CRL being worked here) was the only officer shown, hence his own separate "one-in-universe" CRL. My suggestion would be to ask Kerry for pic examining the details in comparison to the draft we have written here for Sunber which is nearly complete. I would also suggest getting input from @Blackwatch @TX-15293 @mattnelson521 or @pm07. Hopefully they can chime in as they've done the brunt of the work on this build.
  10. @SNK Welcome! This is the CRL discussion in progress. See the original post for where it stands currently and then go through the thread and you can see the discussion points up to the present. We are waiting for someone to step forward w/ a fully built costume to examine I believe at this point...correct @Blackwatch? yessir...we need that first one built. Hell--I may do it! but Im waiting on a hat and that will be quite some time due to health concerns from my hatmaker. The HARD part--the matching green hat. OG107 Sateen cloth should be perfect for the hat and I got mine on Etsy. For my Army (green) trooper I used the California Department of Corrections green coveralls . Sebastion (Tarriff) had a list of parts up. Ill talk to him to see if we can get the list updated.
  11. Thats great news man. Persevere! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Funny you mention the second set lol. I have a spare set of boots (w/ a 3rd in the works), spare belt, spare chest, and spare jumpsuit just came in. I troop a ton so my kit takes a beating The kit itself...it's from @Chef from the UK Garrison who I highly recommend. In this shot, he did everything except the boots and gloves. When I get home today, I will try to remember to shoot you a pic of the bund to chest snaps (though I used to have velcro there which can work too).
  13. ok so this pic is older n not perfect but u can see pouch placement here. you can also see about where boxes can sit and how the strapping on drop boxes is pretty symmetrical...the clip spacing from belt to box and then box to belt. you can also see how my helmet has a bit of a curve...not perfect...so i think where you have yours now should be good Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Oh I remember…the other thing that confused me was the link you posted for securing the strap. Your just posting that as a "how to make it function" thing right not as something to be added to the CRL itself?
  15. @izzi requesting pack shots to gauge size/proportions of the pack in relation to the trooper? I will see if I can get my son to find the disc and hop on the game to get a straight on back. @Blackwatch you just posted your response lololol. I'll read that through as well in comparison w/ Icy's. Thank you both.
  16. @IcyTrooper Got it. Thank you! I'd like to read it a few more times. Overall we are on the right track. Probably need to simplify a bit or break into different pieces so verbiage isn't unclear. Need to read it when I'm not tired and can think straight lol. Here we don't typically do L3…not saying we can't ever…just a heads up. Oh…and I did finally see that overlap method used this weekend on a set of 850 Deathtrooper forearms. Got it now.
  17. Gotcha. I'll check it out then. I think I was getting confused on what references were good or not between the original ones, the Rebels ones (not being used), and the Veers.
  18. For basic approval they just need to be there and look tidy. IDEALLY they don't sit too far out and they don't sit so close so IDEALLY you can get the bund lines w/out covering any while still not having them sitting on your sides. I say ideally…if I didn't say that earlier my apologies. Simply follow this line in the CRL "Ribs are completely visible between the pouches." I should add that myself and @furiosa have proposed an update to the CRL to correct some wording and the pics themselves which may not fully align w/ where the CRL currently sits. That's not active yet though…so follow the text. As far as a critique…it's looking better. You look good man! Anything from here on out from me would be things to make it look even cleaner and tighter…but I'm not sure any of this would hold up your approval. 1) Helmet slant…still can see it to a degree but it's improved and your GML may be ok w/ where it's at now. 2) Rivets painted. Look good. 3) Positioning of bund in relation to belt look good. No longer hanging out from underneath the belt. 4) Pouches…if you an shift them inward while not covering any of the ribs (the pouches can sit on the edges of those final ribs) I think that would look cleaner. They're almost out too far now. How do you have your pouches attached? Looks like to the bund itself. Velcro? They look both look full now which is good. 5) Bund…can't fully make it out in the pic but is it drooping out from under the chest plate (normally due to the weight of the pouches)? Need the bund tucked under the chest plate. That's a common issue. If that is what I see…you could correct that by installing some snaps or velcro to the top of the bund that attach to the interior of the chest so it won't pop out and sag. 6) Drop boxes…didn't notice it before, but it looks like the straps and clips of the drop boxes varies. Nothing major but IDEALLY they should have a symmetrical look…hang the same length, have the same distance of strap between belt and clip and clip and boxes on all straps. Does that make sense? If you do end up adjusting the straps you could also consider bringing them up about an inch or 2…esp the one on your right side…it looks to be hanging lower than your left I will try to get pics of what I'm talking about regarding the bund and drop boxes if those bits aren't clear. Hope that helps man! If you end up submitting, good luck…but if you want to make those adjustments and have more questions or need more feedback I got you bro!
  19. @Fivezero WELCOME BACK MAN!!! This is so good to see! You have a couple that need to be wrapped up!
  20. Phenomenal work to get this to the end. Thank you! If you end up making a personal patch…remember me…I got trades. Just sayin lol.
  21. Is text currently update that I can do a run through and match to references? References are all updated in original thread that are being used? Thanks man!
  22. @TX-15293 I'd hate to see that happen. We (mostly you guys) worked hard on this. Don't get frustrated (too much)…was he printing from a 3d file or something? Any other options that can be explored?
  23. Yea...I feel like right now the pack description sounds too vague and potentially leaves room for improper interpretation. I'm not concerned so much w/ the "how" people achieve the look...we don't have to be that specific...but that the look is specifically achieved nonetheless if that makes sense. From a GML/LMO perspective, when it's too vague it can lead to confusion and we end up having to answer more questions on if something is acceptable or not in the legion staff forums. I think it's best to, on our end, try and eliminate as much of that as possible. Will most troopers follow the references and build to accuracy? More than likely. But could a trooper build a loose interpretation that isn't really right and then point to the vague description as their support for why it should be acceptable? That could happen as well. Anyways...I think we are all on the same page lol. So basically...what are the details of the pack that need to be there in order for it to have the look (and since it's a video game character there really is no variation on these)? The buttons, the stripes near the exhaust, the colored stripes on the tank, the colored (gray or black I can't make it out) on the left side of the pack only...those are examples. We are fortunate that the model's pack looks on point. It's a good reference as well. Appreciate the feedback!!!
  24. Ditto. Any updates @SolidScrafty? Anything we can do on our end to help?
