Chaos' Dark Trooper Gen 3 Pre-Build Thread
IcyTrooper replied to Chaos's topic in Dark Trooper - Generation 3 - Mandalorian
Just pumping this stuff out! I love Nomex flight gloves by the way. -
Yeah the proportions look quite a bit better.
-
Look at that nice production line

Imperial Flametrooper (Jedi Fallen Order)
IcyTrooper replied to stevechewbacca's topic in Imperial Flametrooper (JFO)
I'll echo what has been said because I've faced burn-out with costume creation. Take a nice break and come back to it with fresh ideas and you're brain and body will love you for it!! -
Armour Design: TX Shadow Trooper vs ANH TK
IcyTrooper replied to Talon's topic in Shadow Stormtrooper
Agreed with what @Blackwatch said. If you are going to get a ANH TK pulled in black just be sure to compare all details to that of the CRL to verify prior to committing on anything. I hate seeing people lose money because they didn't ask good questions. Best of luck! -
Sick!!!

Force Unleashed Jumptrooper CRL Discussion
IcyTrooper replied to Fivezero's topic in TFU Jumptrooper
Very nice! I will update the text at that start so that I can port it over to the wiki. I had an FAA inspection come up that takes place tomorrow (probably as result of us getting acquired) so that pushed me back a few days. I'll make a strong push starting tomorrow evening to get this rolling into the main CRL. -
Force Unleashed Jumptrooper CRL Discussion
IcyTrooper replied to Fivezero's topic in TFU Jumptrooper
I'll jump in on this when I have a free moment (from training in TX). Just keep in mind, any adjustments that we make need to be reflected on the first page of this with the text that we are pushing to the CRL WIP on the Legion server. I'd HIGHLY recommend that we do parts one at a time, please. In the immediate, yes there should be mention about weathering and it should be noted in the start of the CRL and state that all parts are consistently weathered unless specified otherwise. -
Force Unleashed Jumptrooper CRL Discussion
IcyTrooper replied to Fivezero's topic in TFU Jumptrooper
@Fivezero if you get any free time do you think you could get some side angle shots of the jetpack on this one and put them in the drive? Trying to get all angles for the alternate views gallery on the CRL (this won't hold up the CRL though since we can always edit the gallery). -
Gaskets definitely look darker (and better) on the Celebration stand.
-
Very nice @Trachta! We are gonna get those into a reference image thread, if you don't mind?
-
Nice!!! I had meant to see that at Celebration but ran out of time!

Imperial Super Commando - Gar Saxon animated costume
IcyTrooper replied to MisterxM's topic in Gar Saxon (Rebels - Animated)
Definitely feel free to start collaborating! I don't think I have a TON of stuff for it but I also may be thinking of another costume. My brain is potato this week. ? -
Will do! I meant to clarify in my post that scenes in the movie were CGI but that I was aware that at one point they had a costumed up Dark Trooper for one of the scenes. Sorry!
-
Very cool! We'd have to check to see if that would be able to be approved by the LMOs since joints were CGI. @nanotek @RAIDER I can't remember if we already had that discussion with them or not.

Imperial Super Commando - Gar Saxon animated costume
IcyTrooper replied to MisterxM's topic in Gar Saxon (Rebels - Animated)
I think I may have some text drafted on my computer back home for this character but I won't get a chance to check it out til I'm back home hopefully sometime next week by end of the week -
Yeah they do seem a little large. I'm looking at the CRL pic and the width of the longer rectangular box looks pretty close in size to the indention on the chest piece, or may be a tad bit larger.
-
Dang! That looks good!

Text and images have been updated to the review portion of the CRL. We will conduct our internal review before the LMO review now. -
BlueBantha Shadowtrooper "Final Photos"
IcyTrooper replied to bluebantha's topic in Shadow Stormtrooper
The above pics look good and I recommend for approval. As for the quoted information that I have in this post. The pauldron should match what is seen in the CRL pic, which is more of an ANH style. I believe the RO ones have more of curvature and padding is segmented more. -
BlueBantha Shadowtrooper "Final Photos"
IcyTrooper replied to bluebantha's topic in Shadow Stormtrooper
@bluebantha Just for record here as a sorts of "pre-approval", but I have reviewed your costume from a detachment level with the L1 (basic) requirements found in the following CRL: https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TX_shadow_stormtrooper Helmet No corrections required. Neck Seal No corrections required. Under Suit No corrections required. Shoulder Straps No corrections required. Shoulder Armor No corrections required. Suggestion for improved look (will not effect approval): May want to see about slightly opening up the shoulder armor via heat or other methods (be careful) so that they don't "squeeze" the biceps which in turn pushed the shoulder bells out. However, over time wearing the costume it may do that on its own, so you may want to elect to do that. Again, be careful because heat can be very quick to ruin a costume. Biceps No corrections required. Forearms No corrections required. Suggestion for improved look (will not effect approval) was taken by you to move the forearms up a bit on your arm. Very nice. Hand Plates No corrections required. Gloves No corrections required. Chest Armor No corrections required. Back Armor No corrections required. Abdomen Armor Correction required: I just noticed that your center button panel is upside down, flip it 180 degrees. [THIS HAS BEEN CORRECTED WITH THE NEW PICS ON 08/08/2022] Kidney Armor No corrections required. Posterior Armor No corrections required. Belt No corrections required. Suggestion for improved look (will not effect approval), see about making sure it doesn't dip down so far on the middle of your abdomen plate and is closer to that center button. Thermal Detonator No corrections required. Holster No corrections required. Thigh Armor No corrections required. Lower Leg Armor No corrections required. Boots No corrections required. Here are the images for the button plate: Yours: vs CRL: -

I'm interested to see the exact feedback that was given. While we cannot approve costumes at the detachment level when the costume is allowed to be GML approved we can also offer insight to the garrison if requested. Personally, I can find no reason why this wasn't approved. Hell, I'd even encourage a L2 submission (when approved) to see where you are at. You can link them to this thread if you'd like and see if they have any other general questions. As @Chaos mentioned, body type SHOULD NOT be a discriminator for the costume. I'm 6' 2" and mine looks exactly like yours and to be honest, we look MORE like the action figures (I'm lanky!) I would do what @Chaos said and get some foam in there to raise them up if that is the gripe. Was there anything specifically that they said? I would advise against selling this kit and try what was mentioned above and see if it can pass the muster. Your kit is good and I have reviewed tons of shadow stormtroopers and I'm a GML for my garrison to boot.
