  1. Thanks for this @RAIDER we'll start taking a look at this. I may add a post to the top that mimics our other CRL creation threads/process to show where we are at with each item. I'll work on this this afternoon.
  2. The backing is the part that we were talking about had the brown in it. The cuff would be the part up by the forearm. I believe by looking at the reference image that the palm and underside of hand would be the same gray as the cuff. The top side of the hand would be the darker as you suggest. I'll see what I can do with the text to update it.
  3. So for purposes of the CRL we should use a similar statement like we do for the stormtrooper gloves, per say, and state that the palm is gray and the rest of the backing is gray/dark gray? That's mostly what we are looking for, and the fact that it may be weathered. I think that'll give it the "in-game" look?
  4. I agree with the idea of the TK bell inside the Cav shoulder to give it the necessary height. Keeping it unseen as you have done is good too!
  5. Yeah it was the gloves that we were stuck on. It was hard to tell if they were just getting that worn from the environment and such or if they were textured that way in the game. The more I look at that I do see that being a better example. I have a Nomex-esque gloves I use for my stormtrooper costumes and very closely resemble these. I'm seeing a gray color with these with brown weathering, as opposed to a tan/brown color. That could explain the bending look around it!
  6. Thanks for grabbing those screenshots! It is really hard to say if they truly are shade of brown or a gray with brown weathering. @nanotek @RAIDER @Blackwatch @Chaos @rickyboyblue and any other team or members want to chime in on this?
  7. The knives turned out great! I'll have to make a mental note of that boot paint for future as well.
  8. Is there any way to get more in-game pictures? I can try with my copy of JFO as I'm at the level with them currently. If we allow greater weathering for the gloves then I can see them being a solid brown possibly. I think the issue could be the in-game weathering based on what the troopers are doing that causes a vast change in the coloring. This was very present in Battlefront 2 with the troopers on the legs as they ran through the maps, becoming even more and more dirty. Even in the reference photos that we have it seems to be weathering specific, unless we get more pictures that can prove otherwise?
  9. Here is the finalized text for these 2 since they are simpler! Forearms Forearms are fully sealed and closed. Overlap construction is only allowed for kits that come with the cover strip molded into the part. The ends of the forearm armor closest to the wrists go under the glove cuffs. Hand Plates These shall be clamshell, or Snowtrooper-style hand plates and not the trapezoidal design seen in A New Hope. The hand plates shall be mounted securely over the back of the glove. That brings us to the Gloves. Gloves Gloves are gray with brown weathering split leather gloves, rough texture, with a 4” to 6” (101.6-152.4mm) cuff that is light gray. The cuff goes around the forearm armor not underneath it. No visible logos or brand names are visible. The left glove cuff has a small compad attached. Compad is approximately a 1.5" x 1.5" (38mm x 38mm) square. The compad has a circular center section, about 3/4" (19mm) high, and topped with a small silver disk, slightly smaller than the center section in diameter. There are seven oblong raised details on the side of the compad that face towards the thumb of the left glove. Now I know you were saying the gloves were a brown color but enhancing the reference images it appears to be a darker gray with brown weathering tones to it, as if handling the blaster that is dirty. When looking at the cuff it appears to be the lighter gray that matches that of the flightsuit as I circled. This one will most likely require some discussion. The base template for the text was from the AT-AT Driver and then modified for the Flametrooper for unique qualities.
  10. I'm going to finalize the text for the Jumpsuit with the following (for now): Jumpsuit One-piece light grey coverall/jumpsuit/flight suit with a front invisible zipper. There is a visible seam that runs the outside of each arm past the shoulder to the base of the collar. There is visible seam that runs the outside of each leg up to the armpits. There is also a seam that runs on the inside of each leg to the crotch. Here is the text that I have for the Forearms and Hand Plates: Forearms Forearms are fully sealed and closed. These are pretty standard texts for these pieces. I'm also going to add some text to the gloves, when we get there, about making sure that the forearm armor goes under the glove cuffs. If we double up on that text that should make it easier to not miss.
  11. Can't wait to see this! I just got both TFU and TFUII on Steam the other day since they were on sale
  12. Hello, Juan! I'd always do more cans than you need just so that if you run out or there is an issue with the paint then you have them. Probably for the primary color I'd say 3 or 4 and then the secondary color to be 1 or 2. That is what I found with my R1 tanker and allowed for a few coats of the white on the armor plus some to fix stuff later. As far as 3D prints go, there are different types of filament that people use that can yield different results for temperature. As with most plastic based stuff you are going to want to watch the heat aspect of it, especially ABS. I haven't seen issues with people trooping with the plastic warping but I have seen people have big time problems leaving plastic in a hot car or garage.
  13. I feel that! I had to look back and do a double take. I'll try and summarize it: So, hopefully this image can stop being potato sized but for comparison sake the "skirt" is missing on the Flametrooper (on the left) and the snowy is on the right (obviously). You can see how that duster, which includes the "skirt" as one piece as it goes all the way up like a long sleeved shirt including the arms, front and back. Essentially, it is all usually one uniformed base color with weathering on the snowy. When you see the example in the below picture(s) you can see that on the Flametrooper it appears to be separate colors on the top part as opposed to what is on the bottom. This makes it appear that the Flametrooper really just has a "skirt" or "kama" which opens at the front and is hidden on where it attaches to the person under the belt.
  14. I'd say off-white is fine for the pouches, that seems like it would be good when referencing the reference images. As far as the suit and helmet skirt. I don't think they'd be the same material based on the pictures I'm seeing. There is enough of a sheen between the helmet skirt and the jumpsuit that appears to be two different materials. That is probably one of the features that is similar to that of the snowtrooper. Congrats on the move!!
  15. I wouldn't throw it away just yet! I want to get the consensus of others as well, we operate as a team here and I like the majority on what they see As far as behind the knee I do see what you are seeing. I'd say that could be a level 2 thing if we get more references that show it to be a true texture and not just a missing one.
  16. I'm looking back at the references again and I think it'll most likely be a skirt of some sorts because I just don't see the same cloth all the way up to the chest part as evident by these pics: Maybe it is the lighting as well but it doesn't seem the same as the snowtrooper in that regard. They do seem to share similar characteristics but there are also unique difference that in some regards. The above pic explicitly showing how that duster appears to have the same color up the sleeves and we don't have that on the flametrooper. That being said, I added information (in purple) to the Jumpsuit: Jumpsuit One-piece light grey coverall/jumpsuit/flight suit with a front invisible zipper. There is a visible seam that runs the outside of each arm past the shoulder to the base of the collar. There is visible seam that runs the outside of each leg up to the armpits. There is also a seam that runs on the inside of each leg to the crotch. I'm going to finalize the text for the Shoulder Armor while we are at it though with the following: Shoulder Armor Shoulders match visual reference. Shoulders have seven trapezoid shaped box details along the top. Rim is raised the entirety of the shoulder bell, merging into a rounded detail mid-way on both sides. Shoulders are attached directly to the suit with no visible attachment method present.
  17. Hello! There are some vendors in this list here:
  18. The next part I want to focus on is the Jumpsuit and Shoulder Armor. The reason being is that we need consensus on whether or not that is an actual duster or just a kama-like skirt? Here is what I have for the jumpsuit and then shoulder armor: Jumpsuit One-piece light grey coverall/jumpsuit/flight suit with a front invisible zipper. There is a visible seam that runs the outside of each arm past the shoulder to the base of the collar. There is visible seam that runs the outside of each leg up to the armpits. Shoulder Armor Shoulders match visual reference. Shoulders have seven trapezoid shaped box details along the top. Rim is raised the entirety of the shoulder bell, merging into a rounded detail mid-way on both sides. Shoulders are attached directly to the suit with no visible attachment method present.
  19. Circling back to this I agree to remove the goggle part about "not too small or too large" and then made it to allow for dark grey or black. I think that in the reference images from in game it is a texture issue. Here is the finalized text that was updated above. Helmet Helmet brow width should be approximately 1/2" (12.7mm) around the helmet. On the front of the helmet just above the goggle eye armor section there is a long rectangular edge that runs from the center of each eye and has two cutout sections before the shroud of the helmet. The shroud of the helmet starts at each cutout section and curves downwards towards the wearer’s shoulders and then around the back of the helmet. Rear of helmet shroud has six square box indented details. Just below the helmet brow starting on one side of the helmet is an approximate 1” (25.4mm) orange stripe that goes around the helmet to the other side. The stripes start on the side where the wearer’s ears would be. The right-side shroud has blue writing details that match the game reference photos, just under the helmet brow. Goggles / eye lenses of the helmet provides a relatively accurate shape. Lenses are a dark smoke color. The goggle eye armor section matches the reference images and comes to a point near the corners of the mouth with the following details: There is a raised section that runs from each outer corner of the eye downwards towards the cheek and then narrower over the bridge of the nose. There is a cutout half-oval just under the bridge of the nose and raised section. There are two cutout half-ovals at the lowest part of each raised part of the cheek. Cowl on the helmet is made from a smooth and dull or semi-glossy, medium to heavy weight white material and is proportional to the helmet size. The cowl has the following details: In the top center just under the goggle eye armor section there is a recessed area that resembles a hexagon which has four teeth resembling that of a stormtrooper helmet. There is a rectangular indention with a rounded top edge just below the teeth as well as two recessed areas on both sides and just below the teeth. Each side of the cowl has a scalloped half circle just under the overhang of the helmet that comes to the point over the cheek of the wearer and is angled down towards to each hose connector greeblie. Just above the greeblie there is another recessed angular piece which has a notch cutout closest to the center of the wearer’s face. Front of the cowl should generally extend to just above or be in line with the top of the arch-detail of the chest plate when the wearer is standing up straight. The rear of the cowl should extend to just above the backpack. The hose connector greeblie on each side of the cowling matches the reference photos has the following details: The base of each hose connector is circular with a raised edge. The next level outwards are cylindrical with 8 equally spaced recessed rounded rectangles along the flat surface. The next level outwards are more conical with a scoop detail on the upper inside of each connector pointing towards the cowl teeth. The outermost part of the connector is circular which from outside to the inside of the connector is recessed, raised, recessed and has a raised point in the center. Any part of the helmet where the cowl doesn’t fully meet the eye goggle armor section must be painted dark gray or black.
  20. We'll probably want to tackle this item by item, I'll be finalizing the helmet (for now) by tomorrow and then we can go to the next item. As far as the development goes, we'll need to use the in-game references as the primary for the CRL and set any official figures as secondary, as far as development goes. On your thread we can also talk more on the "taupe" and "off white" stuff as well until we get to them here
  21. Nice work man! I'd say we need to go with the lines being white on black main part, like we did with Sgt. Kreel.
  22. Ahh I didn't realize they stopped carrying them! You may be able to send them an email and see if they can do some in black for you. They may be able to do so
  23. Very nice! Also, I'd try utilizing a 3rd party image hosting website (Flickr, Imgur, etc.) for hosting the photos and linking them on your thread if you want to have more space. We have set limits to users here so that we don't end up with major storage space issues.
