There's a gentleman who builds a lot of weaponry out of wood ... Woodchuck. I don't think he's on these boards but he might have some insight for you or even agree to do a custom piece. He does great things! http://woodchuck.imperial-web.com/category/weaponry/

I just went and checked and the Bazooka is in X-Wing: Rouge Leader #1 of 3, By: Dark Horse Comics, on page 20. Hope that helps.

A few members of the Badlands do full on Halo armour as well and they've got a halo-ish bazooka they built. here's a picture, not the greatest as it's off facebook but hopefully you'll get the idea. If you like I can get you guys in contact. And if you're looking for a cannon weapon then please do your research and find a image or a reference and build towards that if you'd like to use the weapon at 501st events. If you're looking just to build a bazooka for fun and unofficial troops / wandering around at cons then have at 'er. I believe there is a reference for an approved bazooka in the "X-Wing: Rogue Leader" comic

The Starwars Encyclopedia says: "Many Scout Troopers were armed with collapsible long-range sniper rifles" ... So I don't think it's much of a stretch at all to say the Shadow scouts would use them as well. But to be 100% sure I personally would like to see a reference, even a passage from a book, that depicts the weapon in use.

Looking good Wraith! Freedom fest is just over a week away ... Can't wait to see it fnished!

Dart - Sorry I was talking about the weathered Blackhole as there isn't any information about a weathered costume, except for the single figure that Crazas referenced. And for my 2 cents I'm with Crazas - Got Novus polish in my kit and a microfiber cloth - Nice and shiny.

Good to hear from you Brother - Hope you're doing well. As far as a Battle Worn TX goes the look has got a number of people talking. As of right now the "battle damaged TX" hasn't been officially approved by the 501st. So in short you're more than welcome to do one for your own costume but not for an official 501st costume. Personally I think if weathering on a TX becomes official there will be a guideline for acceptable looks and a guide of how to do it so we'll all have a similar looking costume in the end.

Sounds like you've got everything on the go! Don't for get to post a few pics during your build! Here's the official take on weapons: 501st Legion Weapon Policy

Welcome and if you have any question please post. There is a ton of good information in the forums so have a good read there. Sounds like Darth has got you off to a running start with the kits - Fantastic. Thanks for introducing yourself.

Don't have a Nova, but for what it's work ... Those Hand Plates Look Amazing! And with a bit of work you could probably work the wrinkles out with a credit card.

Wow, Brother ... WOW! Nice looking Helmet - Love the set-up. The wife and I need to transport our kits a fairly long way next month so we're looking at a new packing job - Thanks for the great pointers! -
LOL .... but you still have the thyroid cartilage. To locate just place 2 fingers on the neck and have a sip of a glass of water. You should feel a slight lump move under your fingers - that's what you're looking for.
-
Looks good Boss ... where do you get the time?
-
ACJay - Good luck with your build. My second kit was much easier - had the tools, the tricks, etc.

Thanks for the input Iz! Didn't know that about the blue, just noticed they weren't in the current controls. We'll need to change the default forum back ground if and when that change happens.

Ernesto - I put most of the info in the PM I responded to ... let me know if you have any other questions

Please take pics as there are smaller troopers, both men and women, who look at building a kit made for a larger build as daunting ... it'd be great to see what you do. There is a good post over on the FISD that takes a larger kit and trims it down: here - it's not the same kit as yours but the techniques and ideas might be helpful. Can't wait to see your progress!
-
Darth - That looks pretty good. But I think it will all depend on what the helmet and kit look like together. If you're looking for really shiney maybe try a high gloss clear coat of the same brand as your main colour. - I should mention that I suck at painting and that I shipped out the only bucket I've ever painted, so my advice probably isn't the best. LOL - And, uhm ... how do people feel about your freshly painted lid sitting on the "good table runner" or the brass candle stick? People around my house don't care for that kind of thing ... not one bit .

As far as construction goes it looks like you guys did a really good job. I think the openings in the frown will need enlarging (but that's cosmetic). And I hate to be the one to mention this but your TK friend, with his TK sensibilities, may have given you an issue with the tube stripes. From the Black Hole Control (here): TUBE STRIPES: Acceptable colors are Gloss Black, Flat Black or a very dark Navy Blue. There must be at least 9 and a maximum of 15. The curve must bend backwards. There does not need to be an equal amount per side. But not to worry it's just a matter of getting the light blue decals off and then putting on a more Blackhole colour. You can pick up decals for your specific helmet here: TK-4510

Good to hear you're still working away Tori - Can't wait to see the results.
-
Doug ... Looks like you're almost there. I sent an e-mail with some info and ideas ... it was a bit long to post. Let me know if you have any questions ... Looking Good!
-
Nice Looking Kit - I'm in the same one ... Now as excited as you are ... 3 things: 1) Take Your Time!!! Read all the posts you can find about construction, etc. because once a piece is trimmed there is no going back! 2) Start a work in progress / build thread so you can post updates but also the most important part 3) ASK Questions! Anything you're unsure about please ask. A build thread is a great place for questions. Have Fun!

Awesome Job - Well done!
