  1. Those metal elevator bolts, well stink. If I were you, I'd locate some original 3M visor bolts. Kev sells these over on the BSN site. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=10270
  2. The third and fourth boot options look decent. For gloves, get rubber chemical gloves from Walmart. They are like $10. Or, check out Nomex flight gloves.
  3. There is an SC document (somewhere) that includes complete instructions on assembly of armor and helmets. I will dig around and locate that for you. In the mean time, check out this link. I believe this was an "early" SC creation. But the detail should help you. http://kimncris.com/...scouthelmet.php And here's a link on BSN where Jeff (from SC) describes the new helmet, with pics. It may help too. http://forum.bikersc...creations&st=80 This is another decent link on BSN. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=12816&st=0&p=112588&hl=+studio%20+creations%20+helmet&fromsearch=1entry112588 Hope this helps!
  4. It really is, just let your imagination take hold. It helped me to look at actual guns and how they weather with time and use. I usually cut small squares of foam, spray some silver spray paint on a piece of cardboard, wait about 60-secs, then coat the foam with the paint. Wait another 60-secs or so, then "lightly" start to spread it out. Try it out on a toy gun or other plastic parts to get the hang of it. Best rule of thumb - less is more! For the magnet, note the "round" trigger mechanism. I have an earth magnet under it, with a corresponding piece of metal on the holster. It securely holds the blaster in place, even while I walk/run.
  5. I have a magnet on my blaster and boot holster too, works like a charm.
  6. Check out Diamond State Props. Chad is a great guy and will take good care of you. They have been making some really nice blasters for the scouts at BSN. I own a DH-17 from them and it's pretty awesome. There is a run currently underway, so give Chad a shout. https://www.facebook.com/diamondstateprops/
  7. DVH blaster for the win! Lou is awesome. And I agree, awesome progress so far!
  8. The best option is to cut the ear holes out. If you get an SC helmet, it comes with ear decals. You can apply those, use to trace the pattern, and then cut the holes. Go slow, and don't cut too much! The CRL is from the BSN scouts - who are white. So for those guys, you add black paint or material to "add depth". Since this scout is black, you only need to cut the ear holes. Or, you can leave them "uncut" for basic approval.
  9. Star Wars: The Force Awakens - have you felt it?!

  10. You'll do fine...keep asking questions!
  11. You are a busy girl! The Wampa gloves will be fine out of the box, no modifications needed. One the suit, you'll just want to remove the back (2) pockets and the front pockets. You can use the removed material to make a mandarin style collar w/Velcro closure. There are (2) side pockets that are hidden and those can remain. For the boots, if you do not want to make them yourself, hit up Chris over on BSN. He makes a really nice set for a good price. 12. Go over to Bikerscout.net and find a member named "Chunk". He'll take good care of you.
  13. So exciting! I can't wait to see this Kevin.
  14. Awesome armor and Tams looks great. I've seen Jon's thread over on the RPF, great stuff. Welcome to the dark side!
  15. The deal seems legit. Other than the helmet, it's a decent setup.
  16. That's a good deal. You'll just need to grab a new lid, some gloves, and tweak a few things.
  17. Great looking kit and FX armor is decent. It can be modified to be more accurate too. However, the helmet will need to be replaced. The old "FX" helmet is no longer allowed.
  18. Congrats and welcome to the Spec Ops family! I have updated your profile.
  19. Looking really sharp Kevin, great work! Make sure to pull your shoulders up a little more. They should (ideally) be about 1.5" to 2.5" from the chest/back parts. Everything else looks solid, great looking scout!
