Hi all, joining the discussion. Just recently registered for the spec ops detachment forum, been a member of the legion since 2016 with multiple costumes, including aiding with updating/being the CRL for the KOTOR II version of Darth Nihilus. I saw this costume (the non-helmeted/armored version) and it caught my eye. There's been lots of great discussion over at IOC and from vendors about the dyed denim material used for the soft parts, several differences from the ICAT driver soft parts versus this new outfit... pocket placement, fabric type, etc. Glad to see Fraser over here helping with the efforts!
Here's the current discussion thread at IOC: https://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/index.php?/topic/14862-imperial-army-trooper-andor/page/2/
Just a few images found from the above IOC thread showing the actual materials:
ImperialBoots initial dye trials (in different lighting):
The armor components are the upper chest/back cluster found on MUD/ICAT Drivers. Armor overall appears to be a satin or matte light-ish black... I'm curious what @fb501 thoughts are on the armor coloration. Strap buckles (chestplate), rear raised buckle drop lip (backplate), inner greeblie components on backplate all appear to be silver. There are some silver accents on the lower front of the chest plate along with some red. I'm sure there are better stills of the lower chest details.
The gloves are a smooth simple black rather than the detailed ones seen on ICAT Driver and MUD Troopers:
Belt has two recessed line details at top and bottom of the leather rather than a solid piece of leather. Metal belt boxes are smaller similar to Rogue One style, the code disk on the hat and belt appear to be the solid edge circle Rogue One style rather than the Original Trilogy design that has recessed edges around the outer edge of each circle layer. The handheld blaster pistol holster appears to be optional as not all troopers have one.
Looking forward to others chiming in on this one. I know others have already started construction. I've got many of the parts on order and waiting for ImperialBoots to post up their initial offerings on the soft parts.
